I live in Dallas, paid a fortune to get 50 yd line seats for a preseason game. I know stupid me but it was a chance to see my Dolphins play live. Not that they played much ..... However my seats came with access to the tunnel for the phins and field level access to talk to and get autographs from the players. The two players I wanted to meet Bess and Ricky. Bess played a lot of the game so he wasnt really available, Ricky sat on the sidelines most of the game and when he did venture over to the area where we were he spent 1 minute talking to some guy who wanted to sell him a painting. I asked him for an autograph and not only got blown off but was dismissed like I didnt exist. Fine maybe he was in a bad mood or didnt like being bugged for an autograph .. I blew that off as well. But ya know .. I supported the pothead turned loser through all his BS. The flake out in India, living in a tent in Australia. Even when he only came back to the Fins to avoid being sued for 8 Million dollars he didnt have. Why was I that stupid, let me tell ya. After all of the years watching Marino struggle with no running game, he was the piece the dolphins needed to take it to the next level. Take the pressure off the passing game and allow the offense to thrive. Now he has the balls to come out and talk trash about the whole team. Well I guess cutting the strings is a great idea. I for one am glad to see him go. That he can come out and talk trash when he got out rushed by Tyler Thigpen, Tyler didnt fumble the ball. His production this season has been for SH!t and as far as I am concerned he has as much blame on his shoulders as any of the players or coaches. He was one of the veterans on a young team. ( be it age or time spent with the phins) He was one of the veterans who should have stepped up and set the example for the others. Stick his as back on prozac or give him a bail of weed and ship his butt off to whoever will take his underproducing, sorry A$$ self. Rant over. feel free to comment if you disagree.
Sorry he blew you off. It's not hard to imagine Ricky not being that great with the fans. And he still was telling the truth. We all saw evidence that Sparano coached the team [particularly the offense] to be scared. Now we have even more.
I dont doubt he was telling the truth, however instead of sitting on his but and hiding from everyone until its over then mouthing off perhaps a little leadership where it mattered would have been more constructive. He has been around long enough to see the good and bad in coaching. He knew what was going on in the locker room and instead of working to change it and improve things he mumbled and grumbled to those who would listen. That is like a cancer in an organization. It breeds contempt and destroys the morale and Fun he was looking for in a team. His words not mine....
and he spoke the truth doing it...... Muscle likes to talk football. I doubt he even realized it was #8000.
A guy who left football because of all the fame and pressure that it comes with? I can see him not wanting to sign an autograph...
Haha, no I definitely didn't realize it. I do enjoy posting here, even if things for the team look a little bleak at present. I've learned a lot about the game in the process.
I took my ricky williams gladiator poster off the wall and tore it into as many pieces as possible when he retired. But since his return I've learned to respect him more, and I actually don't mind his comments. Nothing he said sounded far fetched. Sounded like a frustrated individual venting. And I think Ricky should have gotten more carries this year. I liked the way he was running. Still averaged 4.2 per carry. With more carries I think he produces the same as in 09.
I dont understand why ricky is seen as some sort of hero in this whole scenario. Seems to me people want to crown him just because he fulfills some sort of preconceived notion. Nevermind on his way out he talked about being a teammate while burning all of his teammates.
I don't see how he's a snake or a bad teammate bc he doesn't blow smoke up your *** when our team fails.
