Recently, I read about the poor health of Jim Mandich. I wanted to make this post because like you, I truly love Jim Mandich. Passion. Love. Intensity. Nobody does it better. And nobody ever will. A man as special as Jim comes along maybe just once in a lifetime. Nobody allows you to enjoy the game more. Nobody else can make the hairs on the back of your head stand up. And make you jump out of your seat more. Nobody does it better! From the enthusiatic Marino calls to the classic catch phrases. You knew one thing. Jim absolutely loves the Dolphins. He bled aqua and orange. It was never a job. Mandich was not just any announcer or color comentator. He brought the game right into your living room. You cheered because from his radio booth he did the same. Like a kid with new toys. He was an announcer and a fan all in one. His emotional calls grabbed your heart. His joy for dolphins football was always clear and on display. He always would go crazy after a TD and you would hear him shout.....ALRIGHT MIAMI!!! A truly gifted talent. You were blessed every time you got to hear a Fins radio telecast. I wish Jim all the best and a speedy recovery, and if he handles this with the same love he displayed behind the mic, then surely we will enjoy him for many more years to come. We love you Jim! I invite you to maybe blog on what you think and remember about MAD DOG. Get better soon!
Yeah, read this the other day... Truly sad news for all Dolfans... Good luck, Jim and "Awwwight Miami !!!" back at you. Here's to a quick and speedy recovery...
Jim Mandich helped relly get me into following the Dolphins with his radio broadcasts. ALRIIIIIIIIGHT MIAMI is still the best sound to hear during a game. I hope he beats all his health issues and continues to broadcast for us all
Jim bravely minimizes his health problems. He made it sound like he had the flu and would be back in action in a couple of days but those around him make it sound more serious. We all love the Mad Dog and we wish him a recovery from his health problems.
Always had hilarious metaphors and similes that would crack up the booth. He became a bit of a dick thru the years on his own radio show, but I will definitely miss his game broadcasts.
Brilliant man and has unquestionably bled aqua and orange for many, many years. He had one of the first Dolphins fan sites on the web. Excellent insight. He's the Dan Marino of Dolphins broadcasters. No one will ever hold a candle to him.
