I figured they would bring an OC that will actually try to develop Chad Henne instead of ruin him.
Henne needs a guy with some fire to come in and light him up.
I'll believe what Penny says over disgruntled fans at a message board all day everyday.

He also believes he can still come back and play..... he was also Henne's "mentor"

Personally I'd help him pack if he would promise to never come back to south Florida.

I'm with you on this one Penny is toast. Just because he says he'll come back doesn't mean it can happen. As for giving the history with the new OC I like that the guy is 35 and does a good job teaching QB's. God knows that last group of *** clowns had no clue how to do that.

Dude, you tried to call Penne out for being a company guy when Penne is an NFL QB whose worked with the guy and has some insights into what he MAY be able to bring to the table. You on the other hand, have ZERO facts, experience working with him or studying his offense to add to the discussion. But instead of using the new info to lessen your ignorance just a little, you're busy talking outta your *** like most of the knee jerkers, and then you wanna play victim when you're called out for it. It's not funny, it's trolling.

Be honest, what else did you expect Chad Pennington to say? This is the same guy who went to bat for Dan Henning and Tony Sparano. I'm not putting stock in anything that comes out of his mouth, it's like hearing Barry Buetel talk.

Pennington is one of, if no the most respected guy on the team, and he remained so even after losing his job. If he's asked for a quote on Daboll, I expect him to sing the guys praises, which he seemed to do. But there was also some anecdotal stuff in the quotes that can feed an info starved man like myself. Its way too early to start talking good or bad hire, IMO. I wish Daboll was from GB, Philly, or Dallas or somewhere, b/c watching Cleveland's game is going to be a straight snoozefest.

the most positive thing about this is that it puts us in the running for Luck... AND pretty much guarantees Tony will be gone by the end of the season.

This is the entire reason we sucked ***. If it's not RADICALLY different than go **** YOURSELF SPARANO AND ROSS! Seriously what we had SUCKED, was boring and lead to our demise. Why hire this man if he isn't going to change it up?

Calm down. The system may not change a ton but that doesn't mean we have Henning back calling Playaction on every passing down or the Wildcat on 3rd and long.

A scheme change would be a bad idea with a lockout pending. IMHO

As long as Parcells, Henning and Lee are gone, I'm all for whatever Sparano decides. It's his career that's on the line and I'm sitting here in my drawers drinking Coors Light.

I also noticed the only two players that have assessed him poorly are players playing as a shell of their former selves.

Nine plays drawn up on a piece of notebook paper in purple crayon doesn't count as a "system."

somethin I wrote a while back...

''How would you feel if Pennington was to come back?
No way I'am giving up a pick for any of the free agent QB's out there..unless there is a secret conviction that we don't know about by Irish or Tony.

I would look into some of the free agents like Hassellback and Vince Young, and maybe sneak a peak into another teams squad for someone like Dan Lefevour just to add a body with some upside.

However, I got a feeling, especially because of the close relationship that Penny and Sparano have, and the sense that his surgery went very well, that Ole boy is gonna try to make a comeback...

If he did, how would you feel about him at the position?, and doing what we have to do to draft our favorite one and letting him sit for a year and learn what true work ethic is?..I mean if we do decide to go for a QB high or pretty high in the draft, than sitting behind Penny for a year would be ideal no?

You know he's thinking about it, and you know Sparano is thinking about it, especially in this most pivitol year, so if their thinking about it, we need to think about it.

If he comes out and say's he feels great and wants to come back?.. I believe I would be about it.

Iam happy as hell about this...I think he thinks DR andrews did somethin special to his shoulder...FU#@ YEAh...Iam gonna be rootin for this mother grabber real hard

I'd have to check with alen1 but I'm pretty sure there are 3 basic offensive schemes played in the NFL. West Coast, Run and Shoot and the Earnhart-Perkins. Which do you prefer?

    LMAO.. I hear you Monstblitz

I can offer you a ray of hope though.
The system dosen't make the calls or game plans within the system.
Hennings issues were more in his approach and his unwillingness to make any adjustments to personnel he had or to what defenses were doing to us.
Just because Daboll's offense may follow a similar system as Henning dosen't have anything to do with what Daboll will do within it.

West Coast, Spread, Earhart/Perkins/Coryell are the three most common...there may be a straggler out there. Hennings roots were in the Coryell offense believe it or not which emphasizes downfield passing. One can question that and whether our QB's were suited to run that and I wouldnt argue but Sparano's roots are in the spread and daboll's roots are in the spread and Coryell offense. My guess is you will see him take elements of both and try and apply it.

I dont see the problem with the hire. We can do the same thing over and over again or we can do something different. I dont have that same sinking feeling right now like I did the minute we hired Cam Cameron

Or open you eyes and what...Watch the ship sink?? I dont get the mentality. If you really believe the ship is going down then its going down no matter if your eyes or open or closed. What is wrong with people wanting to have some optimism? Complaining about every move and expecting failure what does that do? I mean yeah in 9 months you may be able to say "I told you so" but whoopie!! Who cares?? You dont get your expectations up, so you don't get your feelings hurt, is that it?

I'm not saying you have to love the move, but to complain about it, and predict failure before you ever see it is just foolish. Thats like taking a draft pick and labeling them a bust before they even take a snap.

So I pose to you what else do you get out of expecting failure??

Havent seen any facts in this thread JS. Just a whole bunch of bickering. Not everyone is going to love the hire, I get that but jeez, some people dont even give the guy a chance? If we have a bad year Sparano is gone anyway and everyone knows it. We werent getting Josh McDaniels or a proven OC of that caliber because everyone knows our coach has no job security.

One interesting thing I saw was
One of the main criticism's Cam Newton is that he hasn't been asked to read a defense. Now we bring in a guy who apparently is good at it? Speculation to be sure, but maybe they are targeting someone. This isn't a post meant to debate Newton, go to the draft forum if you want that, just making an observation.
