Well, and I'd also point out that Nolan's defenses in SF were ranked in the mid 20's, and yet he was still considered a good Defensive Coordinator.

    Sign Manny A!

Like I said before, I have a feeling that is was a really good move here. I guess I have to wait and see but I am going to stick with it no matter what.

After three years of Dan Henning I welcome fresh blood. Give this guy a chance to see what he has to offer.
This fan base has become a collection of whiny poor pitiful me fans. Throwing tantrums daily and repeating your rants won't solve your anger. It makes the rest of us miserable.
Everyone is shooting this guy down with no proof that he will be the same as Henning. I'm patient so I'll take the wait and see approach.
He could come here and fix our QB and straighten him out. Wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth to all the mouth breathers.

Well, I'd say about 30% of Dolphins fans are really negative atm, no matter who they hired it would not have mattered.

    What I like about Daboll:

    -Colt McCoy was productive
-He used Cribbs as well as he could have with his injuries
-Knows how to ride a running back, to me the 2 back rotation system was used improperly in 2010
-Firey Coach, for a young team I think that matters
-Could be McDaniels Jr. but without the baggage, McAdolescent talked himself out of the OC job in St Louis

    What I don't like
    -Not a good track record
-Not sure how well he communicates with players
-Playcalling blunders, he got to cute by half in Cleveland at times and the fans there hated him
-Not sure how his system meshes with our talent

Remains to be seen who the Qb coach will be, to me that will be an important hire and I hope we can lure Chris Palmer from the UFL to handle it.

Ya right and you could be the queen of Sheeba

    Boy are you in denial.....

    Patience?????

Try looking at the last 10 years for christ sake..........patience Where are we now ? we were better under Wanstedt, god I never thought I' d say that.......

On top of needing a new HC we need a QB, WR, OL, TE, probably RB since we wasted the Ronnie and ricky era. Scratch a top notch OC off the list we got the bomb off of the Cleveland Browns champions ship club reject that they miraculously let go because he was so good and had them ranked 31 in the league. You know their only 32 teams in the NFL........

But you'll have patience. Ross is going to need about 60,000 of you's to break even.....

See, the problem we're running into is that people are too concerned about being able to say "I was right" or "I told you so" that they're simply unwilling to even give someone a shot before they're ready to write them off. If only those people realized that down the road none of us are really gonna give two ****s if they "told us so" or not. None of us can see the future. None of us knows how this hire will pan out, if we make the playoffs, win the super bowl, chad henne becomes a hall of famer, etc. None of us know these things for certain. And I for one would much rather approach these situations with some optimism and hope rather than automatically project gloom and doom. This "the sky is falling" mentality gets really old. And it's not just dissenting opinions and "realism" as some will call it. It's the fact that Brian Daboll hadn't even made it to Miami yet before a large portion of the fan base was calling for his job. Am I the only one who sees the logical disconnect there?

"This fan base has become a collection of whiny poor pitiful me fans."

You'd figure that after 10 years of dragging our once proud organization down to THIS level and with the moves currently being made and not made the Fans have every right to grip all they want.

Not everyone one has the capacity to ignore the last 10 years and whats right in front of them the way you do. You are a lucky man. And I'm trying to become as detached but being a man I can't take away reason and accountability.

Excellent points. I feel the same way.

The thing about patience this season though is that this regime doesnt have time to be too patient.

If we dont get a better result than 7-9 and out of the playoffs there will most likely be major changes.

Odds are a new HC will not keep him at OC. So, he like the rest of the staff need to gel quickly, not just for the sake of fans and their emotions, but for their jobs.

Jeremy Bates just got fired in Seattle. Which was a stupid move on Pete Carroll's part, by the way. Now Bates is a guy that should be Miami's OC, not this nobody from Cleveland.

You're just a very negative person all around aren't you? Have you read anything about this "nobody" from Cleveland? The more I read, the more I like the hire. To have the seal of approval from Bellichick and Saban really means something. And it definitely means that he's not a nobody.

As far as patience is concerned, I am referring to waiting to see what Daboll's plan of action will be. Then watch and see how it unfolds. There could be some good in this. Yes there could be bad but I want to focus on the positive side of things. I know many of you have seen everything Dolphins from the beginning until now but I'm just saying to hang in there a little bit longer. It may better this time around than we may actually believe it to be.

I'm not negative, I just call it as I see it. I'm sick and tired of the crap that this franchise has fed me for the past decade, and I'm getting to a point where I would like a goddamn return on my investment. The emotional support, the buying of merchandise, attending games, etc. I've given a lot towards the Dolphins, when do I start getting something back? Is that so much to ask? Why should I get excited about a guy who had a worse offense than Miami had this past season? Why should I be positive about that?

Also, Jeremy Bates is way more qualified for this job than Daboll could EVER dream of being. Look at what he did with a freshman quarterback at SC, in Matt Barkley. Look at the numbers he helped Jay Cutler put up in Denver. Of course look at what he did in Seattle, with literally little to nothing to work with. That's a man that maximizes the talent that he has. Daboll couldn't coach his way out of a wet paper bag.

After 40 years of watching and being a fan of this team I've learned to take all of it with a grain of salt. Hell anyone who knows me understands I do my fair share of *****ing and that I'm as die hard as they come. I know my post made you angry because you aren't patient enough to understand my point of view. Hell i wanted Sparano fired but it didn't happen. Am I going to wipe my *** all over this board because of it... Nope. Beyond control. I understand the Henne situation and what we all saw and I am waiting to see him under a new coach before I'm done. I've seen guys turn it around many times.
Do you remember how bad this defense was last season? I said repeatedly get rid of the old dead weight and get some youth in here and with so fresh coaching it could be turned around.
That is the very reason I'm willing to be patient and see what happens with the offense.
I raise a lot of hell here but there comes a time to be fair and let them do their jobs. Too often people get too bent out of shape without knowing what is coming and it comes back to bite them in the ***. No offense bro and this is not an attack but I hope it happens to you...... For the sake of the Dolphins.

I believe it is totally illogical to categorize and project a player or coach based on prior coaches or players..

KillaP is only being logical and behaving in a way that is better for the team's future...

Patience pays off when there is adequate talent. Henne now has 3 years in the league, starting 2 and that was following starting 4 years at a major college program. I would say 6 years as a starter is being pretty patient for a QB to be able to develop a lot further along than Henne currently is.

There is a real possibility that Henne has reached his potential. If so, being more patient will NOT make a bit of difference.

Whoa, whoa, whoa since when does college experience translate to the NFL. He was a first year starter in big boy football. Some people will go to new lengths to bash Henne I'll tell ya. I'll give you an A for originality but the same grade goes for hilarity. Thanks by the way for missing the point. :wink2:

Not tooting my on horn but How much do you have to see to recognize inadequacies. Me, I've seen enough of

    1) HC - and how he has handled the position, preparation (great 2 min drill all season, oh and don't even go special teams a 2 year problem, game time decisions, philosophy, ability to evaluate players in a reasonable amount of time,

    2) Henne 3rd yr and his inabilities to progress to a professional level major accuracy problems over 5 yds. no instincts or feel for the pocket, poor decisions, even with time. never seen so many blocked passes..........

    3) organization and the decisions it's made see offensive line for example which was a focused area and christ Tony originally an O line coach. after 3 years it's still up for grabs and in shambles. choosing injury prone players

Listen I'm obviously not a professional but Ive been watching the Fins since Joe Auers first return for a TD and I think I can see the massive non subtle ineptitude that most complainers are seeing and am not afraid to acknowledge it......
But I agree with you as to I hope I'm wrong but I've never seen the organization in such shambles since the George Wilson inaugural days.

Sorry if the *****ing bothers you but, ya, I'm mad and the day is coming that you might be in the same boat...I'm afraid....and accepting mediocrity and giving the organization a free pass in my mind is sacrilege.

Certainly, "patience" does not mean "same old same old" it means this is the toughest division in the NFL and things don't happen overnight, however that does not mean the coach should not be held accountable for playing guys he should have realized aren't cutting the mustard.

Imho Henne should have to compete with a real, honest to goodness, Veteran Qb who can play, and that means "not Chad Pennington" as he really should retire as his shoulder just cannot even sustain small impacts, Sparano should know not to put any trust in Penny as the Vet Qb, that was one of the largest mistakes he made last season.

As far as being completely done with Henne, I'm not quite there yet. We still haven't seen what this guy can do under a different offense. Many QB's have struggled in an offense and as soon as the Coordinator changed they improved greatly. I'm not saying totally hand the job to Henne, but if he can win the job in camp, I say he deserves at least 8-10 games to show what he can do.

I mean what else do we have?? A broken down McNabb? Mental Case Young? We dont have enough to trade for Orton? Kolb isn't even as good as Feely was when we traded for him. Were to far down the in the draft to get Gabbert, nobody else is going to be a starter right away from College.

I understand complaining about Henne, but come with something real. Come with some idea's and some stats to back it up.

Amazing to me is some of these same people that are talking crap about the new OC becaues of his track history in Cleveland are the same people who are clamoring for Kolb who has terrible stats. Its not about stats to these people or potential. Its about NAMES to these people. Thats all that matters, is NAMES. If we dont get that "big name" we get complaining. JMO

Just off hand, I'd say, you lost about 95% of your credibility with that statement for anyone over 40... Even Henning was not as bad as Wanny WadBall!! Henning was stubborn.. Wanny was stubborn, oblivious, and clueless at the same time.

Bro you said it all, I put up with 1-15 and never thought it was as bad as WannyBall when you just knew we were simply going to bash our head against the wall watching 2nd half leads disappear season after season, it was terrible.

At least with Cameron you thought maybe this week they would break through, with Wanny I never had even a glimmer of hope.
