I want them to IGNORE it. not start a denial (coverup) campaign and then be proven to be liars once again.
Henne is in no way blameless and if there is a realistic upgrade available I'm all for it...... there are plenty of issues with Henne. However to me it's pretty obvious his development and the development of our offense in general has been in the hands of ppl that were just clueless from one week to the next. And until we rid ourselves of the bigger problem, our incompetent HC.......it's all for naught
Maybe, as peeved as I am at Chad Henne for sucking, I can easily see him flourishing in the right offense. Dan Henning was a round peg in a square hole guy, if Daboll tailors everything to fit Henne do not be a bit surprised to see a 4k/25 Td season out of him, he was close to 3,5k with a terrible offense in 2010.
Does anyone here have the powers to bring back Joe Robbie? I've got a six pack and a half a pack of smokes to get the bidding started.
Then why aren't you even more peeved at Tony Sparano for not recognizing this and acting on it sooner........ are you as naive to think as HC he had his hands tied and was at the mercy of Dan Henning?
Because that happening is like drawing into a inside straight, or drawing 3 hearts to make a flush, sure it can happen, the odds are against it. THAT is why I may bash Henne, but in my heart of hearts, he can still make it happen.
I don't even care about this **** anymore. What people are saying, who the coaches are, who the QB is, etc. I just want to ****ing win. And I want to win now. If all of these moves the front office is making makes us win then I'll love them, if not, then I won't. Just ****ing win.
Well that's not what i was referring to..... what I was referring to is Sparano standing pat for so long and permitting Henning to continue to try and fit a round peg into a square hole, rather than forcing him to tailor the offense to Henne's strengths. And not just Henne, the entire offense.... I don't see this as just a Dan Henning problem.....I see this as a problem with Sparano stubbornly sticking to his own offensive philosophy.
You're right, but I also think that Ross, Ireland and Sparano know that. The fact Sparano admitted to wanting/needing a more open and aggressive offense is at least a good sign. We'll see how it progresses from here.
Sparano should have dumped Henning and Lee as soon as Parcells snuck out the back door. I mean really, how hard could it be to be the HC, OC and QB coach? I'm on board, Sparano's a *****.
Momna: Chad? Did they ever catch that Goorilla who skaped from da Zoo, and punched u in da eye? Chad: Uh no momma. Da soich continues..
Damn this is...sad. When you deny as much as they have, and then proceed to get busted and caught in a lie, it just gets to the point that you dont believe anything they say. At this point though I could really careless what the hell the deal is with the organization, I'll get to that when the time comes. I just want to know if there will even be a season. This labor thing is BS and needs to be hammered out ASAP. Pretty soon its SB time and then FA comes pretty quick after that. I am really hoping that the offseason isnt interrupted too much.
Well, Henne's mom has a valid point. Sparano and a lot of his staff did a terrible job the last two seasons. Henne's mom also needs to realize that her son did not help either. A kid with all the supposed tools to be a good Qb could not transform into what they wanted. So if Sparano deserves to be fired, which i do agree, then she really ought to shut up because her son didn't help with things and by the way he regressed, no matter who's to blame, he could have been sent packing right along with Sparano...
Who's shocked over the email?......as the OP pointed out several times, it's more about the cover up. And why is Henning and Lee more responsible for what happened with Henne than Sparano? Surely you don't think Sparano had his hands tied and didn't have any control over it........ it's HIS TEAM......HIS QB.......HIS key position on the team. And it's on offense..... the unit he actually has his hands in. And please, that wasn't putting a bandage on it..... that was just another of his bumbling moves. And as far as Thigpen goes, they all gotta be idiots if they want that scrub for a starter...... he's awful other than spot duty and will never be more than a back up.
what is of interest to me is that if le batard said something like "people around chad henne" or "sources close to chad henne" as wanting sparano fired would have been seen as trying to stir the pot and full of crap. yet we wouldnt know that he has an email from his mom
First, the time line doesnt make sense. Parcells left and they panicked and pulled Henne? Parcells left before the season started, and Henne wasn't pulled until mid-season. Second, why would Parcells stepping down cause panic? It wasnt like Parcells stepping down was a surprise, it was well laid out, and was the reason why he hung around until the offseason was officially over at final cuts. Plus, at the time Sparano was 18-14 as a head coach after taking over a 1-15 team. Why would Sparano's job even be in question at that point? And we are outraged that the Fins PR staff has tried to downplay a loony email from a scorned woman? And tried to save some embarrassement for Henne? I'm supposed to be upset about that? lol What should they have done instead? Just let some senseless bashing on the Fins go down without any comment? Should they call out Henne's mom as a crazy person? Would those have been better?
and why do we care what the mother of one of our players is thinking? feel bad for henne. how embarrassing is it to have your mom come to your defense
If only the on-field product was as entertaining as the business operations we've been exposed to since the end of Week 17.
The bottom line is, when a QB starts off well, destroying the Bills and then having the game of his life against the Jets in his first two starts, making clutch throw after clutch throw and looking Brady/Montana-esque on that final drive, for him to regress is mostly on the coaches. If he started off ****ty, I could understand. For whatever reason when Ronnie Brown went down last year, Henne struggled. The run game sucked this year, Henne struggled. Maybe it's a coincidence... As far as this email goes, I feel bad for Henne and his mom. Mainly because she probably had no clue it was going to be read on air. That's some naivety on her part to be sure, but it's clear she appreciated LeBatard's article and just wanted to let him know. The Dolphins made a mistake in denying this. HUGE MISTAKE. You only deny something if you can't be proved wrong. Now they look like jackasses...AGAIN.
It is not rare at all for a QB to start off pretty well and then begin to struggle as teams get more and more film on him. And why do they look like jackasses? What should they have done instead? Not try to save Henne some embarrassement? Or should they have talked **** about Henne's mom calling her a crazy *****? Would that have been better? lol
I don't know.... If I'm Chad Henne, I am horrified right now. Having your mother interject herself directly into your professional business via the media can do nothing but worsen the situation. It's absurd. How on earth can his mother not underestand the criticism this could bring to her son, the backlash from fans that will take this and run with it, the amount of play they will use this for on the radio and potentially putting added strain on the situation between Henne and the Phins. Mind boggling that she wrote this if in fact she did. It comes close to Jay Fiedler's mother after the first Dolphins game Jay started telling a news reporter "Tell Mr. Marino that a real QB is in Miami now!" Mommy's should be there for personal support not acting agents.
If his mother didn't think a radio personality would read an email from a players mother trashing her son's coaching staff then she's INCREDIBLY naive. Any radio personality will milk anything for ratings let alone one like Lebatard that comes from the school of Jerry Springer sports journalism. As for the Phins I don't think its that big a deal. They tried to kill the story completely. They should have known someone like Lebatard never would let it go away though.
They could have started by firing a coach they no longer believed in. I can't help but feel like this is simply an extension of the poorly managed coaching evaluation and search from a couple of weeks ago. Whether or not Ross & Company want to admit it, they opened a pandora's box with the way that situation was managed. The Front Office and Coaching Staff better get used to having their authority and judgement called into question this season, as this instance certainly won't be the last time we see it.
Agreed, whether you agree with her view or not, this is the absolute LAST source these type of comments should be coming from. Like I said, if I'm Henne I'm absolutely horrified.
What in the world does any of this have to do with the coaching search with Harbaugh? And even though this has nothing to do with the Henne's mom thing, they clearly do believe in Sparano. It would have been MUCH easier to just fire Sparano, no? They thought there may have been a possible upgrade so they looked into it. But they went through all that crap BECAUSE they believed in Sparano. If they didn't they would have just fired him from the beginning and spared themselves of all the criticism...
I just created an email account. Chad_Henne's_Mom@gmail.com Does that make me Chad Henne's mom? While I was at it, I created these too... Dirk_Diggler@hotmail.com Clint_Eastwood@yahoo.com The_Real_Shaq@gmail.com I'm Clint Eastwood.
1000 fist pumps. I don't think people appreciate how quickly this thing will go to hell at the first sign of trouble. If this team starts out 0-2, or 1-3 the rails are coming off
Well that botched process essentially neutered the coach and created a general sense of negativity towards the organization. Now I couldn't care less what Chad Henne's Mom has to say about anything, but if she's comfortable enough to be taking shots at our head coach -- well that's foreshadowing at its finest, no?
I understand it isn't rare, but I don't see Henne playing with that type of confidence anymore, do you? The truth of the matter is, Henne started out great, and this coaching staff was too inept to prepare him so he could make adjustments when those other teams got film on him. Not sure if you've watched the Jets much this year, but have you seen what they've done with Sanchez? Last year he took a lot of 5 and 7 step drops. This year, he's taking shorter drops and hitting his receivers with short throws, letting them turn it into a big gain. That's called an adjustment. What has our OC and staff done for Henne? Besides put in a revolving door at O-Line that is. And, like I said, the Dolphins shouldn't have said anything. Now, if it turns out to be completely false, that's a different story. As is stands, yeah, they look like jackasses. People can forgive you if you make a mistake. People will not forgive you if you LIE about making a mistake. How many times have we seen that in sports?
I'm pretty sure that via IP addresses you can verify the computer and who that computer is registered by though. Not a techie though so the staff here could shine more light on that. It would'nt shock me to hear this was a goof by someone as you point out. In fact, with Lebatard, if it is a prank, I wouldn't be shocked at all to find out Lebatard and his staff concocted it themselves for ratings. It's too big now though. The truth will come out if it isn't really from Henne's mother.
