    Meh.

The only new coach I care about at this point is the OC. None of the others are going to make or break the season.

Experience performing the job you are hired to do is certainly a good thing. But its not a prerequisite to being able to perform that job in a capable manner. Everyone has to start from nothing at some point.

Fact is that the Dolphins will be lucky to win five games next year. Until Ireland and Sparano are shown the door by Ross and someone is hired who actually knows how to find real NFL talent. The Dolphins will continue to regress and will thought of as a team the caliber of the Bills, Lions, Browns, etc. Not as a team which can compete with the elite teams in the NFL.

I already think of the Phins like the Bills, Lions, Browns etc. sure, they win more games. but have made the playoffs once in a decade. who cares if youre supposedly better than these other bottom feeders with a few meaningless wins? just means you keep picking in the 15-19 range.

Believe it or not, at one point in time, every experience QB Coach was inexperienced at their coaching position. Just throwing that out there.

    This.

Anyways, Armando is an idiot. Can't stand him.

Plus, I am sure at least one of these coaches are bound to end up becoming something good or great in the NFL.

That doesn't make much sense. We won 7 games (should have won 9 if you count Det and Pit) this year with the same talent, arguably better coaching staff, and possibly harder schedule. I'm positive we can win 6-8 games off of talent alone. Let's just see what this off season brings us and what these new coaches bring us.

And btw, Ireland and Sparano have done just fine with bringing in "real" NFL talent. Maybe you are forgetting the fact we brought in Marshall and Dansby last year? Maybe you are forgetting the fact that the past 3 drafts we have had, have been the best drafts we have had in over a decade?

Finsbuck, saying the past 3 drafts have been better than the last decade isnt really glowing praise. Its like me saying the fat chick my friend took home from the bar was fatter than the one I took home.

QB coach, WR coach, and OC are the only two things I'm tepid about. Henne's development and playcalling. Fasano will still be a better blocker than receiver. The other positions are just people grasping to have more to cry about. Fasano will still be a number 2 at best. Ronnie and Ricky will still suck. If we're gonna keep any of Moore and Wallace, we'll need to make sure they can run routes. But it won't be much of a factor if we go after MSW, JJ, Malcolm Floyd etc.

It's still a hell of an improvement. I mean, we really can't expect for a whole new front office to turn a 1-15 team into a Super Bowl team just like that. It takes time, especially when we have bumps in the road (ie. injuries, terrible coaches, etc...)

They have had very good drafts, if you ask me since they joined Miami.

2008- Jake Long (Pro Bowler), Chad Henne (starter, we'll see this season if this was a good pick), Kendall Langford (one of the better 3-4 DEs in the league), Lex Hilliard (one of our best STers), Lionel Dotson (solid backup)

2009- Vontae Davis (emerging as one of the better young CBs in the league), Sean Smith (looked like a solid starter this year), Brian Hartline (has been all we could ask for, for a 4th round WR), Chris Clemons (starter)

2010- Jared Odrick (we will see this year), Koa Misi (starter, was great for us this year), John Jerry (starter), A.J. Edds (we will see), Nolan Carroll (we will see), Reshad Jones (we will see)

Not to mention, they brought in Wake from the CFL, brought in Marshall, brought in Dansby, Lousaka Polite, and they brought in Bess as an UDFA.

Obviously we have had some bad picks, like Pat White and Pat Turner...but every team in the league has bad picks. Even the Patriots: Since 2007, they drafted Kareem Brown in the 4th, Terrence Wheatley in the 2nd, Shawn Crable in the 3rd, Kevin O'Connell in the 3rd round, Jonathan Wilhite in the 4th, Ron Brace in the 2nd, Tyrone McKenzie in the 3rd, etc...

All I am saying is, we have had some pretty damn solid drafts since they came in and they have made some good decisions.

they have had more bad picks than just the two you mentioned. and if you are going to sing their praises over signing Dansby and trading for Marshall, well they have struck out in FA as well. they havent been terrible, but IMO they havent been great.

It looks like Sparano has figured out a way to create an away game atmosphere for all 16 games.

They know they will fail, and Sparano knows it too. Like you say, he is not only helping his buddies and son out with on the job training, he is also screwing Mr. Ross and giving him a big fungo to him because the team will suck azz & be the worst offense in the league. That is Tony;s way of saying to Mr Ross, "this is what you get when you stab me in the back".

Hopefully we can still get Cowher next year, if he doesn't take the Tennessee job 1st.

Well, from 1999 to 2005 we had no first rd pick step in and play as a rookie and do a good job, then Ronnie B, then two more busts, then our current Team, yeah I'd say the drafting has improved.

Ok, then...Bad picks? White, Turner, Merling, and Murphy. Anything after the 4th round, you can't really consider a bad pick if they don't turn out.

And how do we strikeout with Dansby and Marshall? Are you suggesting that we should have rolled with AJ Edds/some FA and Channing Crowder as our starting ILBs? Are you suggesting that we should have kept Ted Ginn and left our WR corps as Brian Hartline, Davone Bess, Ted Ginn, Marlon Moore, and Roberto Wallace?

Dansby and Marshall were great additions on the lone fact that they were huge upgrades from 2009 at their positions.

Well, everyone's got to start somewhere.

I don't begrudge any of them, and I hope they do well.....But the way I suspect
it's going to go is they are going to gain some experience and be washed out
next year after Tony gets the axe. It'll be ok though, because eeveryone will understand
that they got cleared out because of a lame duck status HC.

This is exactly the no-lose situation lots of these coaches are in. We're a resume builder
    at this point.

Ahhhhhhyup. It's not *****ing and complaining, or anything else other than following every signpost
that's come up so far. Every one of them points directly to "Iceburg, right ahead!"

Seriously...If we start out sub .500, we're going to be out of practical contention in short
order, Tony will be fired, and the string will be played out with everyone just hoping not to get injured
until we can really begin anew in 12.

Dunno. Don't honestly care at this point. I wouldn't be opposed to giving Nolan
another shot if he's in the running. It's not like anyone else has been able to do much
with the Niners. That's just "blah blah blah" at this point though.

I don't think JFish is going anywhere now that Bud's flushed Vince.

That is a nice representation and all, but being a twitter domain account and all, I will have to say "BS". Although at the same time, the effort and delivery is good, so to that I say, "fist pumps" for the LOLS.

EDIT: I had to change my thank you to "fist pumps"... my apologies.

    EDIT my EDIT:http://forums.thephins.com/showthread.php?59096-Fisher-is-Fired

I am now reading this... will be back and may recoil. Though I am still not sold on the source, though, being musiccitymiracles.com and all... go figure.

EDIT: Well, it seems the tweet was right. Sad that it was true. I like Fisher and I thought he did a good job for the Titans.

I'm calling BS on this one. Compare these rosters side by side.

    2007: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/mia/2007_roster.htm

    2010: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/mia/2010_roster.htm

and then let me know when the Dolphins have had more talent on the roster, top to bottom, than they have now.
