I think it is this http://weblogs.sun-sentinel.com/sports/columnists/hyde/blog/2011/02/draft_winds_which_offensive_pl.html I expect a coveted Boomer fist pump!
Cracking read again Simon. I would love for us to pick one of those interior linemen (Wizzy or Pouncey) especially if we dont pick up a guy or two in FA.
I'm diggin that. Trade down, and take the best OL/RB available. We've gotta get the running game fixed, or else it'll be another long season.
Is there any chance of trading down and still getting Ingram? Ya know, with RBs being a dime a dozen and all.
As for QBs worth a first round selection, I think Gabbert (obviously) and Newton. Not sure if Newton would really fit in here in Miami though. I've come around to the idea that Mallett is another Henne (thus 2nd round talent), Locker is overhyped, and the Nevada kid needs to prove a bit more to sneak in. The QB I think Jeff Ireland will really really like is Greg McElroy. He's got the size, smarts, starts, accuracy, wins and big program pedigree. Might not have the zip, put you might stash him on the roster and try to develop that like Brees did. Probably get him for a 4th or 5th. Green Bay went that route with Matt Flynn, and now they have a talented young backup.
I think QB is not on the Fins radar until 4th round at the earliest. OL/RB/TE comes first. We will bring a FA Vet to compete with Henne
Just an outstanding writeup Simon. I mean, in one article you have everything you need to know in the offensive player draft trade space. Just excellent on all fronts!
Man that was one hella right up Boomer. I'm all about the running game so if they can indeed trade back a few slots and pick up Ingram, and Ben Ijalana I'd be estatic. I'm all over the Ijalana wagon for months. He will make a great NFL G imo.. Or Carini in the first, and maybe a Leshoure. To me he kind of reminds me of a Ronnie Brown which is not a bad thing. I'm really high on Ingram though and Da'Rel Scot.
