There are reports that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in talks to join TDKR cast. These rumors are nothing new though.
Liam Neeson confirmed he will not appear in TDKR, there had been internet rumors of him returning in the 3rd film to contact all 3 films together.
A French newspaper is reporting Marion Cotillard (Inception) has signed on to be in TDKR as the 2nd lead female. No word as to whether this is true or BS but interesting never the less.
Not sure what the 2nd lead female role would be, but she looks like she could make a good Catwoman herself.
Tom Hardy gave an interview in a London paper the other day talking about the Bane role. The main key points were he is currently bulking up for the role. That the Bane character is way different than what we saw in 'Batman & Robin' (thankfully) but Nolan is adding his own spin on the character. He also mentioned he's not sure whether or not the character will have a mask or what the outfit is going to look like. Also according to Michael Caine, Nolan isn't done with writing the script yet, everything is written but it's very long so Nolan is working on tightening it up.
Joseph Gordon Levitt has officially signed on to be in the film. His character isn't known but rumors are going around it might be Black Mask. EDIT: Word is that JGL will be playing Alberto Falcone, son of mob boss Carmine Falcone who was in Batman Begins, aka 'The Holliday Killer'. RE-EDIT: Sources are now saying JGL will NOT be playing Alberto Falcone.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Josh Pence has signed on to play Ra's Al Ghul in flashbacks that take place 30 years before Batman Begins begins.
Well Warner Bros has made it official be announcing the signing of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard to TDKR. JGL will play John Blake, a "Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under Commissioner Gordon" while Cotillard will play Miranda Tate, "a Wayne Industries board member eager to help a still grieving Bruce resume his father's philanthropic duties in Gotham". http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/04/19/the-dark-knight-rises-marion-cotillard-joseph-gordon-levitt/ Interesting since the rumors were Cotillard to play Talia and JGL to play a Falcone son. I'm going to go on record and say the Miranda Tate character will ultimately turn out to be Talia in a twist. But I'm just glad the two were finally confirmed and their roles will listed as well. 15 months away!
TDK officially started to shoot. Inside is the first set picture in India of a green pool, which is rumored to be Ras' Lazarus Pit. http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/167223-first-dark-knight-rises-set-photo-leaked
TDKR officially finished filming in India, I believe they're headed to Pittsburgh next. EDIT: They're headed to London for a week first.
First picture of Bane, and he looks freaking awesome: http://www.411mania.com/siteimages/banehires_101966.jpg
Spoiler here so read at your own risk if you want to comment please use the spoiler tags. I'm not a one to go searching the internet for spoilers once the movie starts filming but this was on a website I read almost daily. It's about a certain character filming a scene: Spoiler Liam Neeson was on set as Ra's Al Ghul filming for 1 day, no word on if he's coming back to film more or what happened in the scene whether its a flashback or not and who else was in it with him. Here's the link: http://www.hitfix.com/blogs/motion-...-shot-a-scene-for-dark-knight-rises-on-monday
Also rumors are that the first TDKR teaser will be played for with the last Harry Potter movie. There's a few fakes out there already so beware of those.
It's official the first TDKR teaser will be shown this Friday in front of the new Harry Porter movie which is said to be 1.33 minutes long but no word on whether it will just be voice overs like TDK's first teaser or will show clips of the movie, my guess is it will be like TDK's first teaser. Also the first poster will be available too. Can't wait.
Here's the first official poster: http://www.thedarkknightrises.com/ Not as cool as the first TDK poster with The Joker but still pretty sweet looking.
The teaser has been leaked online, I would post it but WB has been taking them down all over YouTube. I saw it although it wasn't in very good quality and think it looks pretty cool. I will describe it below so if you want to be spoiled just wait until Monday (I believe that's when it will officially be released online by WB or just go to the Harry Porter movie tomorrow). The teaser shows both stuff from Batman Begins and TDK as well as new stuff from TDKR. Spoiler The teaser in a nutshell, has clips of both Batman Begins (Bruce walking to Ras hide out, finding the Batcave with bats flying around him) and TDK (the last clip of the movie with Batman riding off in the Batpod) with Liam Nesson talking from Batman Begins saying something like "you need to be more than just a man, you need to become a legend" cut to Gordon laying on his side in a hospital bed with an oxygen mask in obvious pain saying how they need Batman again now that the evil is rising (cut to a quick shot of Bane's face) and then Bale (not pictured or shown so it's not clear if he's Batman or Bruce Wayne) saying what if batman doesn't exist anymore to Gordon saying "he needs to, he needs to" which cuts to buildings falling apart to show the Bat symbol just like the teaser poster and the last image (which is hard to see again because its dark and the quality was poor)is Batman backing up and Bane poping up in the lower left hand corner. So hope you enjoy it once you all see it. Next July can't come quick enough for me.
Im going to see it tomorrow before Harry Potter......can't friggin wait for HP and now for TDKR teaser!!!
The trailer is now available in HD on YouTube. It looks great and glad there's actual footage from the new movie. I'm not sure if I can wait a whole year to see it.
So who are the characters in this one? There's Bane, Catwoman and Scarecrow, but who's the guy speaking on the recorder?
Bane and Catwoman are already confirmed. No word on Scarecrow but I wouldn't be shocked if he made a cameo like he did in TDK. As for the guy speaking on the recorder, not sure what you mean but the guy that was doing the voice overs at the beginning was Ras Al Ghul and the lines were taken from Batman Begins. EDIT: It's possible you're watching a fake trailer.
http://www.batman-on-film.com/TDKRises_news_1st-pic-of-Catwoman_8-5-11.html First look of Catwoman. Pretty much what I thought the costume would look like. Interesting to see what she's doing in the picture though. Hmmm.....
We need to see more, but at first glance, I don't like what I see. That mask looks really bad and what are those blue lights? No cat ears? She should be wearing a cowl. The costume that Michelle Pfeiffer wore was great, just what you would expect a lunatic to improvise. I also hope that she isn't riding the "Catmobile." It looks like Nolan's gone all campy on us.
It's the Batpod she's driving. And like you said I think we need to see more of the outfit. I can't get too crazy good or bad about it until we see the full final product. And I don't really see how Nolan has gone campy as the outfit isn't over the top of anything like that. I just think we need to get more information about the costume. I'm guessing the "mask" is more of a night vision type goggles considering she's a cat burgler and all. I'm sure we'll get more leaked pictures soon enough.
I think this scene will be the first time we see her in action. Especially if she's stealing the Batpod. This seems to be the same scene of the pics released of Batman fighting with Bane. Of course, she could also already be on Team Batman in this picture and was given the batpod, but I doubt it. If you see the leaked photos, she's driving it right through all the cops that are down. I like the outfit, but what I'm hoping is this is her stealing the Batpod, Batman obviously tracks her down after, then they join forces. And then she gets a cat mask from Morgan Freeman(I forget his characters name) and the goggles go over it. The only thing is, those goggles look like something Freeman's character would've created. We'll see! Don't forget, they also rushed this picture out to beat the leaked photos.
http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/the-projector/anne-hathaway-defends-catwoman-costume-204254980.html Here's Hathaway talking about the costume.
That gives me a glimmer of hope, but when she says "what the suit can do" does she also mean "what the suit will look like?" I don't know. Catwoman is the foremost catburglar in the world, but that alone doesn't cut it as a reason for her to become "Catwoman" instead of some skilled criminal. Murph the Surph never became "Catguy." There needs to be some sort of event in her past that causes her to become that character. Bruce Wayne had that kind of experience in his childhood with bats. Batman Returns engineered that very well for Catwoman with Selina Kyle having a traumatic experience involving cats that deranged her. Batman dons the Batsuit because the image strikes fear in the hearts of criminals.
The Batwing will be in TDKR, it looks like the Tumbler. It will be interesting to see how Nolan uses it.
Filming in Pittsburgh is over. They're headed back to LA to film in a few sound stages then they're heading to NY in late Sept/early Oct to film on the Queensbourgh Bridge and then filming will be done.
I'm pretty sure the Bane you see from pictures won't be what he looks like on the screen. Nolan will probably make him bigger either by CGI or by using camera angles that make him appear much bigger. Personally even if Bane remains that size in the film, I'd rather have a good actor like Tom Hardy playing him than a huge muscle man like Arnold that can't act his way out of a wet paper bag. But that's just me.
