revised possible draft picks for 2011
    1st pick

    Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama -
    Height: 5-10. Weight: 215.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.44.

Second pick goes to Denver in exchange for Marshall

    3rd pick

    Kristofer O'Dowd, Center, USC
    Height: 6-4. Weight: 303.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.07.
    or
    Stefen Wisniewski, Center/Guard, Penn State
    Height: 6-3. Weight: 298.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.13.

    4th pick

    Cristian Ponder, QB
    Height: 6-3. Weight 227
    Florida Seminoles
    projected rounds: 1-4
    or
    Marcus Cannon, Guard/Tackle, TCU
    Height: 6-6. Weight: 350.
    Projected 40 Time: 5.34.

    5th pick
    George Bryan, TE, N.C. State
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 265.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.77.
    or
    Mike Pouncey, Center/Guard, UF
    Height: 6-5. weight: 320.
projected 2-4 round, might be had in the 5th ( stock is falling)

if we forgo the QB with our forth pick:
    1) Matt Hasselbeck, Seattle,
    2) Matt Leinart – (Unrestricted) After this 2006 first-round pick lost the locker room in Arizona, where he started 17 games in four seasons as Kurt Warner’s backup, he spent the year sitting on Houston’s bench. Matt has a 70.8 career QB rating, is looking for a fresh start.
    3) Carson Palmer – Palmer, who has a 86.9 career passer rating, completed more than 60 percent of his passes for the sixth time in his eight year career. is demanding trade under threat of retiring
    4) Kyle Orton- Orton could be on the trading block, and can be had for (future) second or 3rd round pick?
    5) Kevin Kolb- Eagles
    6) Vince Young- Titans
(would not trade above a fourth round draft pick in 2011 for any of them)

should be a number of return specialist/ wide receivers with speed available in free agency

    Friend Fin-Omenal:

    George Bryan, TE, N.C. State
    Height: 6-5. Weight: 265.
    Projected 40 Time: 4.77.
    or
    Mike Pouncey, Center/Guard
    Height: 6-5. weight: 320.
projected 2-4 round, might be had in the 5th ( stock is falling)

It would be to pounce on Pouncey @ 5

probably a better guard than center @ this point in his development
but can play effectively the entire interior line
the other half of the equation: George Bryan is an excellent blocking TE with good hands
you just never know how the draft falls, unless you're the first to pick

Well 23, the Dolphins worked out ex Bengal Rashad Jeanty yesterday, he was a rock solid ST player for them and a pretty good Starting OLB in the 4-3, he would be an unpgrade over Moses or Ikaika imho, not that it would effect your mock but it does show how they are thinking.

We looked at him last offseason but the Bengals medical staff had botched his diagnosis and he had to have his ankle broken and reset so it took him a year to get everything lined back up properly.

no doubt they've had their hand on the pulse of a number of players over the course of the year.
already gave you a first pump for the revelation & agree in the importance of that particular player.
got to take advantage of affordable quality wherever you can find it, @ whatever position.
    having said that
the emphasis on this draft & free agency, by necessity has to be on rebuilding the offense
therefore, my mock draft reflects an offensive concern
the front office under Ireland is always going to glean a jewel from the unexpected

If we can get Pouncey with our 5th, I see no reason why we can't draft Andrew Luck with our 3rd.

Sort of Bro, this is not "either/or" Jeanty is a proven commodity who if healthy will come at a bargain price, that sort of multi talent, and being good at 3 linebacking positions is hard to find, add in if he is signed along with Resetilli the Special Teams unit will have some pieces to sort through.

Agree Offense should be the focus, but Specials need more talent added as well, adding Jeanty would mean they are finally taking that unit at least somewhat seriously as no one on the LB corps currently has shown they can do what he can.

    1) sarcasm? Pouncey could drop to the fifth round. he's had an atrocious outing & his stock is slipping quickly
    2) since you mention Andrew Luck, may I suggest he would be a primary dolphin target to go after @ whatever cost in 2012, if we rebuild the rest of the offense in 2011. would work for me. I would do what was necessary to acquire that kind of talent @ QB for Miami.

Pouncy is almost assuredly a late 1st early 2nd round pick. Nothing is impossible of course, but mocking him in the 5th makes almost as much sense as mocking Luck in the 3rd.

    Friend Rafael:
you're probably right, however, Ive read a few things about him intentionally dropping his stock in hopes of playing with his brother @ Pittsburgh. has also been some banter about his ability to make it in the NFL as a Center & about some questionable attitudes he has displayed. http://sportifi.com/news/2011-Senior-Bowl-Moffitt-working-at-center-562079.html (wrong url still looking) most have him going in the 2nd round but some claim he could go as late as the 4th.
who knows? the front office may have an interest in him as a 3rd or 4th round pick. there is no second round pick & they won't waste the first pick on him. should he free-fall (not uncommon in a draft) dropping to 5th it would be a steal. we shall see.

That is some of the most ridiculous stuff i think I have ever heard on this site. Pouncey is not slipping at all. I am sure he won't be dropping anywhere. It also can't hurt that his identical twin brother was so succesful. He is a very high character guy as well.

There is almost no way Pouncey is getting out of the first. If he does, he's going high in the 2nd. Even if he has a bad combine, his stock is still going to be incredible.

Not sure I'd mention O'Dowd & Wisniewski in the same breath, especially having O'Dowd first.

If you're pulling this stuff from Walterfootball, those guys have a history of being all over the place at times. There are a handful of people at ThePhins who are as good or better at profiling than Matt & Walt.

    1) one or the other, not necessarily in a given order
    2) I get all my information, as most do, from what I read
then remember a game or two or some highlights that impressed me
from there I sport an opinion. I am no pundit

    3) out of everything I'm not very good at...
the draft is probably first in line. just making conversation

would he be a mistake in the third or forth round?
elaborate, I'd really like to have your input on Ingram
everything I've read & seen indicates he's a top RB in the draft

nothing wrong with the conversation, 23rd. Didn't mean for it to sound like criticism. Just letting you know that, for much of this stuff, you really don't need to look beyond the aqua & orange walls of this very own website (except for Boomer; he picks stuff out randomly from a beret he stole in France). :shifty:

Pouncey will be a high-to-mid first rounder. Not a chance in hell he will be around in the fifth round.
I definitely don't want Christian Ponder on this team.

No he wouldnt be a mistake in the 3rd ofr 4th round. Thats where the Cowboys got Marion Barber. I think Ingram will have a similar career. He's definately not worth our first pick. Ronnie Brown was a mistake. He is a solid player and a good runningback, but not many of the top RBs in the NFL were taken as high as Ingram is projected. He would have to be one of the best to be worth it. Not only do I believe Ingram will never be a top RB in the NFL, the direction of the Dolphins offense doesn't require a top RB. Especially not one like Ingram. We need someone like Jamaal Charles.

If Blaine Gabbert is there, I say he's worth taking a chance on. We haven't spent a 1st on a QB since Marino. It's time, and he's growing on me. If he doesn't make it to 15 we should trade down if the opportunity presents itself.

I agree with you. I would take Gabbert over Ingram @ 15,
just never imagined he could fall to 15 in a draft that is QB weak in a needy NFL.
from what Ive read, he won't go beyond the 9th pick
I do, however, think Ingram will probably be available @ 15
