His 4th Qtr QBR was in the 60's, he was also the worst in the league at throwing deep passes accurately, his games against the Browns and Lions and Bills bordered on stealing money from fans who paid to attend the games.
Have to play the hand your dealt & make the best of it. The most positive thing I can say about Henne is that he's still here. So, lets wish him well and hope for the best possible end to things. said this in a previous post... Henne could conceivably contribute in a myriad of ways: 1) could compete & win the start 2) could be the starter while we break in a rookie QB 3) could serve the team as a back-up 4) could be traded, helping the team gain advantage in the draft or free-agency what Chad Henne can't be, nor should he be, is ignored in one way or the other he should contribute to the development of the team. I am open to any options that will improve our game. w/o prejudice
this is the hand that was dealt us, better do something with it 1) could compete & win the start 2) could be the starter while we break in a rookie QB 3) could serve the team as a back-up 4) could be traded, helping the team gain advantage in the draft or free-agency we can't afford to squander resources with an offense to rebuild making lemonade from lemons?
Well, its been no secret how I feel about Henne. He just didnt progress the way I thought he would by now. Was the playcalling horrendous last season? Absolutely, but Henne`s inability to be a true field general left too much to be desired for me to believe he`s the answer. If -and thats a HUGE IF- Henne is our starter next season I will root him on and hope I`m dead wrong about him only because what choice would I have? As long as he`s a Dolphin I cant root against him. Having said that- I truely, seriously, honestly believe he will NOT be our starting QB next season.
oz & everyone else knows in their inner-most-self the truth: Henne will simply be all about making lemonade out of lemons in 2011. it is what it is & not worth another post.
Even the people who like Henne still believe that he needs an offense full of all-pros to be successful
I'm not anti-Henne, rather, anti-Henning-as-our-starting-QB. He knows the staff and the receivers. He's signed cheaply. There's still that snowball's chance that he still develops, but in any case, he makes a fine backup. With that in mind, whenever you have the opportunity to upgrade at a position, you do it. The big thing Henne has going against him right now is his own inconsistency. He can play a brilliant drive, then an awful one, or a brilliant quarter, or game one week, then awful the next. Is that partly to blame on our coaches and offense from last year? Possibly. Alot can be on the player as well. It's a combination. Could it have been a sophmore slump in his second "year" as a starter, thats possible too. The thing is, he's got the talent and the physical abilities to excel in the NFL, he just needs to put it all together, and have coaches that can help him do that. If he can't find a way to put it together, and be more consistent, he's never going to be a starter in the NFL.
Henne had some flat out bad luck in 2010 frozenfin, 1 dropped int attempt, sanchez had 15 drops, he also had 6 int's that were not purely his fault, the receiver ran the wrong route or slipped or tipped the ball, I counted 6 of those last yr.
Henne got used to seeing dropped picks in practicing against our DB's, never thought other teams would be different.
The difference between Henne and Sanchez's dropped passes involves no luck at all... the problem is Sanchez gets to play against Sean Smith twice a year, lol.
