good thread, i am enjoying reading everyone's stories especially. along the lines of Christian music, i have Celtkin to thank for turning me on to Casting Crowns, who are now featured on my Ipod prominently. on the old site, he posted a thread and a video someone did to their song "Who Am I." that in turn dovetailed into discovering many of their other tunes as well, most notably "Voice of Truth." if i hear either of those songs or "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me, i am nearly overcome with emotion, every single time, be it excercising, driving, doing yard work, wherever.
I love those songs also. Mercy Me is my favorite tho'. They just bless me with their lyrics. I never tire of hearing them sing. I have finally gotten all their cds. The Voice of Truth says so much too. We should all listen and learn. Deb
Brother, if you like Casting Crowns, then you love this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ji2rLXr3cEU&feature=related A while back, my wife and I were having a hard time trying to understand God's will in why we couldn't conceive a child. This song was our prayer during those times. Makes eyes water just hearing it now. By the way, God's will appeared clearly about a year later when we adopted our son. He will be one year old next week and we celebrated his birthday with family today at a park. Thanks to your prayers, it was a beautiful day.
that is so awesome to hear, Rev, and thanks for the friend request as well, i am honored to accept. i had not seen that video for the song before either. a great way to finish off saturday night and prepare for Sunday Mass tomorrow morning. many thanks, and Happy Birthday to your son!
Great fun We had our first wild game supper at the church last night and it turned out great. We had between 90 and 100 people come. That's a big number for us. I tried some of the stuff, but the wild boar, and some of the other stuff was nothing I wanted to try. I ate fried chicken and tried frog legs tho'. They had every kind of meat you can imagine. And ALL the trimmings. Wish you could have been there. GB
There were many things there that I've never seen or heard of. Every one enjoyed themselves and most ate too much. They even had collards with pig tails in it. I got some of the catfish, I love them. What's swamp cabbage? Don't know if we had that or not. All I really know is that we cooked for over 3 hours straight.

and, now in the immortal words of Monte Python -- "and now for something completely different": "Breath into me" by Red http://youtube.com/watch?v=WyvKCThJNYk
Great thread! Thanks Rev for starting it. I would like to post some original songs from my church, but don;t know exactly how to do it. Any help?
Alright everyone, I need your help. I'm giving the meeting for our marriage group in a couple of weeks and I thought I would talk about "Spiritual Bucket Lists". In other words, things we would like to accomplish in our lives before we die. If you could send me some biblical references, I would appreciate that also. Thanks and GB What is on your spiritual bucket list?
Bro, if you upload the video or file to Youtube, you can just past the URL of the file here from Youtube.
Could you add my Aunt to your prayer list? My Aunt Ruth Smith is 86 and has taken a turn for the worse. She has been in the hospital for the last two weeks. My couz Allen, her oldest son, just informed me tonight that she is now unresponsive and not expected to last much longer. She is a great lady and very special to me. Not only because she is family but when I was 3 I got very sick and without a blood transfusion from Aunt Ruth I would not be here today. So if you could, thank you so much. Ron
Changing subject, that Python quote reminds me of a very funny story. When Bill Clinton was inaugurated for the first time, I was on the road listening to the ceremony on NPR. Just before the swearing in the Marine Band had one final selection. It was the Captain Boogie (sic) March by Sousa which most of us recognize as the theme to Monty Python. I almost put my car in a ditch! No one will ever convince me that the musical selection was anything but deliberate. After 12 years of Reagan/Bush going into Clinton was certainly "completely different!" What I never figured out was it a slam at Clinton by an outgoing republican or a slam at Bush by the incoming Clintons or just a Marine with a warped sense of humor. Just my joke for the day.
I want to thank all of you for your prayers. My Aunt passed away about 3 hours ago and I just wanted to come back and say thank you. Ron
Kristin's Miracle House - please read There was a touching story on tonight's news about a young lady who was diagnosed with stage three cancer at age 16. The Make a Wish Foundation asked her what she wanted most -- A Disney trip?, A kick *** computer? All expense paid trip to an exotic location? Her wish? To fund an orphanage for AIDS orphans in Zambia. The foundation donated $2,600. The rest of the projected $60,000 cost, she is trying to raise on her own. http://www.faithwest.org/features/KristinElliott.html http://www.lubbockonline.com/stories/041308/liv_268019598.shtml http://www.wacotrib.com/news/conten...wacwishhouse.html?cxtype=rss&cxsvc=7&cxcat=11
"I look to the hills, from where does my help come? MY HELP comes from the LORD, the maker of heaven and earth" May God bless and keep you and your family just as God now keeps your Aunt eternally with Him.
Ron, Brother, we have all experienced loss but no sharing of that experience can take away the pain and no words can make it feel better for the moment. Know this: Your Aunt is with her Saviour and she is free from pain. What is not gone is her love for those she left behind. I lost my mother just over a year ago and not a day passes that I don't feel her love.
I'm sorry to hear that Ga. My prayers are with you and your family. Try to remember all the good things. I do that when I think about my mom and the 3 dear friends that I've lost in the past year. God Bless all of you and grant you strength during this time of sadness. Love, Debby
Ron, We're still praying for your family. Like Celt said, she's with our Lord and is having a great time. GB

Breakfast Clubbers, say the motto That he taught us to repeat: “You will lose it in your gym class if you wait till' noon to eat”. Back when the Chess Club, said our eggs were soft Every Monday he’d say grace and hold our juice aloft Oh, none of us knew his checkout time would come so soon But before his brain stopped waving, he composed this tune: Chorus: When the toast is burned, And all the milk has turned And cap'n crunch is wavin' farewell. When the big one finds you May this song remind you That they don't serve breakfast, in hell Breakfast clubbers, drop the hankies Though to some our friend was odd, that day he bought those pine pajamas His check was good with God Those here without the lord, How do you cope? Prayer Request: My wife's grandfather had successful a hernia operation today (Praise God). Unfortunately, during a routine EKG, they seem to have found some blockage in his heart. He has been asked to rest for the next two weeks to recover from the surgery and then he is going to see a cardiologist. I ask for your prayers for his family, my wife's family, and for the doctor's wisdom to do what is best for my wife's grandfather. Thanks. GB
My daughter has had two surgeries for cysts. The first wouldn't heal so they had to go back in and re do it. Please pray that the healing process will speed up and she can get back to work and her life. She's been out for over a month with this. She works for AFLAC and that's a blessing because of the benefits etc. Her sick leave will be up the day after Memorial day, so please lift her up. Thanks and God Bless all of you, DD
My prayers go out to your wife and family. You've had a lot going on lately. Just remember God will never give you more than you can bare. Love and God Bless you, DD
Sorry so late getting here, Debby. Your daughter and your family has my prayers. Thank God for AFLAC.
