    Just to clear my name...lol

I see a vision issue except in the open field. That's why I said good vision. Clearly not great vision to me.

If we go to more 3+ WR sets then I could see Lex taking Lou's roster spot.

I think Ronnie has a better chance over Ricky for the mere fact that his heart is in Miami.

I like Roy Helu from Nebraska as an underrated prospect. He gets a 7th round or FA grade from every draft site out there but I think he should be a 3 rounder at worse. He hits holes hard with conviction. He's tough. He's productive (3400 yards, 5.9 y/c 28TDs 54 catches for 500 yds) in his 4 year career. He just ran a 4.42 at the combine. He's a team captain (which we know Ireland is partial to). I would be extremely happy if Helu joins the team.

The most amazing thing in this thread is that Daniel Thomas has not been mentioned. Absolutely amazing that no one has touted this guy. If anyone hasn't seen him think of quicker, shiftier Eddie George. Doesn't have timed speed I would reckon, but he's a glider in the open field. He covers ground so quickly its staggering.

Most underrated player in the draft in terms of talent. Bar none.

I've touted him. If we trade back, he's my 2nd fave back behind LeShoure, and IMO would be a perfect fit in our offense as a big dual threat RB who can carry a load.

Thomas (or LeShoure), Greg Little, and Virgil Green (or Jordan Cameron) would greatly change the dynamics of our offense and make us a much better threat to put up points. IMO we need to come away with 3 guys (RB, WR, & TE) who can all make plays with the ball in their hands......... guys who are scorers.

Guy's a stud. I could care less what he runs the forty in. It seems we are kindred draftaholics in this regard; Mikel Leshoure is a quality big back, and yeah I'd take either guy and be happy. If I trade back, even still in the first I am going to give hard look at either back. If I get in that 23-32 range I may give Thomas the nod. Could care less. Get a good guard a bit later and off we go.

Not much in this thread though. I read somewhere the other day - I think it was Rob Rang who said that after Ingram and Leshoure there wasn't much there in the class. There are some very good backs in this class to be honest, not home runs in the truest sense, but still very good running backs.

My sentiments, too. I'm not picky who we get as long as we get one of the two (provided we haven't already taken Ingram). I cant wait to see LeShoure once he's finally in his man body. LeShoure is 3 years younger than Thomas (20 vs 23), so Mikel gets my nod...... along with his lower center of gravity. In 2 or 3 years he'll be a dominating back IMO.

I would be happy with these RB's this year, if we have a season:

    DeAngelo Williams
    Ronnie Brown
    (mid-late round rookie)

Absolutely cannot argue that he is one hella talented back but to me he's going to take some big hits in the NFL with his upright running style. Although I would not ***** one bit if he were to be our pick.

I hear you. I posted about him in the draft threads a while back in the Draft Forum and I've been posting about him on two other sites lol. He has very underrated hips IMO.

He does have some body lean Oz, he's down a bit further than you may think. He certainly has more lean than George did.

I care that he just knows where the chains are. I've seen him play a few times and he has a knack to move the chains. He had one subpar game all year against a pretty stout Nebraska defense...

Its hard to run against the Blackshirts. Greatly disciplined in their 2 gap front.

I notice one thing that is great for a guy his size. When he cuts and when he comes out of his cuts he gets pretty low. He runs kind of like George for sure. I like his vision to...

If we continue to double up on positions as we have done we could come away with two very good backs by the time the draft is over. I'd **** myself if we got Thomas and Evan Royster. Seriously. Thats a good platoon backfield, at least IMO.

Great vision. He's one of those guys who can fit into a few schemes. I'd be afraid to play him in Mike Shannahan's offense. I'd give in. Jesus that would be dangerous.

Was a huge Nebraska fan growing up. Until 80 when I started rooting for no one but the Canes. My girls also from Nebraska so I watch them as much as I can. Love their defense...

Well, he is really climbing up some boards. The Dolphins would have to get an early second to get him imo.....or with their first pick? Not sure about that unless it's a trade back to 31/32...

Royster is in interesting selection. Kind of a healthier version of Scot. I'd still like to see how De'Rel does in the NFL. If he can keep his act together and not be so injury prone, I think he can be one excellent complementary back...

I'd take him in the last third of the first, but of course this is a message board so.............but yeah i like him and Leshoure a whole lot, a whole lot. Ingram is a nice back, but these guys are not chopped liver by any means.

Then there are guys like Brandon Saine, Evan Royster, Roy Helu and Johnny White kicking around later on we may find some nice pieces to the puzzle.

I think me, Con. and Stitches have been tooting Roysters horn for the longest time lol. I like him. He's nothing special but hes a solid back IMO. I liked him at the Shrine Game.

I herd one of the guys on NFL Network saying the same thing. I was like HUH? There are close to 10 Rb's I'd be happy with...

I always look for that diamond in the rough. I was all over Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie months before he started rising up the boards. Not that it means much but I do see Scot as one of those that could be a steal. I know he has problems with fumbles, injuries, and he is not that shifty around the line of scrimmage but man, when he is in the open field, he's fun to watch....imo

I don't care for White Conu, I like that Green(?) kid out of HI, and I normally like shorter running backs.

This yr I have maybe 8 running backs I like but to me they are value picks, if the price is right you pull the trigger, if not pass because for me, I do not see a huge difference between Shane Vereen and D Carter, you take your chances with any of these guys.

Do think Fanin will go higher than most suspect, measurables are solid, and his hands are solid, nice size.

If we need playmakers, I'm all for Taiwan Jones who is possibly the most explosive offensive player in this draft. I urge you to see for yourself if you haven't had the pleasure. I'm not a fan of injured players, but this kid could be worth the risk IMO. For those who don't want to watch the whole thing, at least start at the 2:55 mark. One play and you'll be hooked to see the rest. lol.

He'll probably go 3rd round. I'm betting Ireland has an offensive lineman targeted there. He is damned sure explosive. Kind of built like Thomas...

Rushing for 1000 yards in a pass first offense is pretty darn impressive.

Watch Ricky sign with the Jets, and then Jason Taylor re-sign for another year as well. Talk about wierd!

I think trading down and recouping our 2nd rounder sounds like the best option.

His speed to take it to the house was evident on that one screen he took for a TD on the first play of one of the 2 minute drills in practice...but other than that, not much vision there. For me you could take him or Brandon Saine, same player.

My problem with Royster is that for every 3 good plays he gives you, he gives you another 7 bad ones. Dreadfully inconsistent, not great pad level, not a great cutter, athletically uninteresting.
