I have a poll that narrows down to 4 options; I haven't decided which one yet but I figured I would ask for your input. If you have any reasoning behind your choice, please let me know. If you're a first year GM, the draft will likely be a 3 week process. That's usually how long it takes for us to get things done. We go on a schedule so you will have a timeslot in which you draft, if you miss that timeslot.. the draft committee will draft for you. If you miss your draft slot 2-3 times, then you forfeit your picks unless you talk to me. I will post rules sometime next week likely... I will also try to post a schedule as well.
The 26th. If the draft takes THAT long, then the sooner the better. The Combine is over and most pro days are this month, AFAIK. No need to wait until April 2 or 3 for the top of everyone’s boards.
I will also be handing out compensatory draft picks sometime next week also. It's just a matter of waiting for all the big-name players to find homes. Keep in mind, if you CUT a player, you will not receive a compensatory draft pick for him.
I agree with desides that the 26th is the best option. It slows down in the later rounds when some people become disinterested and value the picks less.
I prefer the earliest option. I am getting married and going on my honeymoon april 14th thru april 25th
We all know the FA period loses steam after the first couple weeks, so its best to start the draft as soon as possible. It's the best option, and it's going to take a long time to get through the draft, so it's a necessity to get it started asap
I went with the earliest option.. I pray I have a new job by then and I'm no longer working on Saturdays...FML
