Tokyo trains have been stopped. Have some friends who work downtown that started walking home (2 hours or so). Others are staying put. My son was internet navigating one of his friends out of the downtown area. Helped him avoid problem areas. Some services are starting back up. Lots of good will by various businesses going on today.

Lots of rescuing and clean-up to do. Tsunami warnings are still up. Aftershocks still occurring.

All sorts of video out there right now featuring things being pulled out to sea, problem will be when the tide comes back in all of the flotsam and jetsom will roll back in along with it.

Heard also the nuclear plants are shutting down due to system damage.

Nightmare situation. No power and the temps are at freezing. If that happened where i work In San Fernando Valley i would be unable to get home for days. 25 miles away but i wouldnt be able to drive home due to damaged freeways. Really makes u think about your own situation if it happ to you.

In other news some moron was swept out to sea in No. Cal after he went down to the coastline to check out the waves. Winning.

I would be in a similar situation. I would have to take a very round about walk to get home. Since chances are something would happen to the two bridges that is between me and my home

This is the third massive quake in the pacific rim, most have forgotten Peru and Christchurch were both hammered with quakes in the last 12 months.
