I think we come out fine in that situation, we would retain Thigpen and maybe McDaniel and not really lose anyone would had not thought we were going to lose anyway.

If we can trade players or sign free agents I think we have a chance to be great next season, as long as we hit in the draft.

We didn't tender McDaniels before the deadline so he might not be back and if this is true DeAngelo Williams, Sidney Rice and Zach Miller won't be available

Eh well, win some, lose some.

As for Williams and Rice and Miller, we never had them in the first place and there were no guarantees that they would sign in Miami, so it is not as if we "lost" them.

To me, this would be the best solution, but until the NFL and De Smith work things out we will be in the same place after the 2011 season.

my brain isn't the sharpest but I'd love to have what you guys are smokin

If Im not mistaken our QB sucks, our wr's are inadequate, ricky and ronnie getting up there in years and potential separating, O line still not gellin, Head coach is on the wrong page and seems to take forever to make His evaluations, and we need a te and a D-backfield that doesn't leave huge spaces between them and the WR's,
But otherwise,, were almost better then average.........

Wr corps is fine, R+R were probably out of gas, and health will improve some of the issues, Garner, Odie, Edds, Will Allen.

Running Backs come into the league and typically produce very quickly, that leaves..Henne.

This would allow us to trade for a Qb as well, to me it would allow Ireland a chance to really address some issues outside of the draft, instead of being forced to wait until the timetable of "nothing happens until August".

I can't do it any more. Or there hasn't been enough change to make me feel any confidence in the Dolphins.... they are a train weck..........

WR's, not fine, We need some WR with speed and our Wr have much room for improvement besides Marsh and Bess. TE ahhhh

Ya our RB need to be upgraded for whatever reason.....Rb produce quickly ????? ya ask danny boy how quickly his RB developed........But I acknowledge the odds are better finding RBs

Trade for a QB, again lets hope that their is one to trade for and we get him. Talk of Henne being our guy again....some people just never learn............

And the Head coach I quess was just going through sophmore withdrawals........

We need so many things to fall into place to be a contender and I'm afraid that our organization will probably figure it out around 2015 at home in front of their TV's...........My big wish is that we've hit the bottom, but still from the moves made so far or rather not made so far I not sure if we have yet.........

Like the enthusiasim though, even though I think it's highly dilusional and the kind of thing we see every year from many fans no matter how Fkd our situation is ........

We have been destroying our team for years and personally as much as I hate to say it, I don't think we have a shot at being any good for another 3 years..............And god I hope I'am wrong...........but I don't see a organization that gets it..
Healthy O-line, ya now theres a nice image. When was the last time we had a healthy line.......These guys couldn't stay healthy enough to see what kind of line we have....

    Attitudes like this are cancerous.

"hate to say it"??? You seem to ENJOY the extreme criticism and complaining.

Eh, back to back 7-9 season are not impressing me either, however we were a very young team in 2010, so there should be a natural improvement in 2011.

exactly. We could do nothing and we'd be a better team...... but we'll be doing more than nothing, so we'll be at least slightly better than better. lol

    Boils down to:

    -fixing the running game
-Henne making more plays then he does mistakes

I do have some hope for Daboll, if he can get that production out of Payton Hillis, surely he can do it here.

If the defense continues to improve <as it should> then I think you summed it up quite simply.

We will pick up a new outstanding QB who no one ever expected to become available, or would you believe, Henne will become adequate....after realizing his past inadequacies

Our O line will magically come together with a few new additions and no one getting injured

Our DB's will stick like glue to WR's.

we will have a great draft filling the few microcosmic areas were we are actually need help, OL,DB,RB,WR,TE,S

And Sparano will evaluate in a timely fashion and install the perfect game plan......after learning that TD's actually are better then FG's

Oh lets not forget the special special teams we have. They are on the verge of being great............

So ya after reevaluating the condition of the franchise I think that we are on our way to the Superbowl with only a few minimal tweeks.........

And not having my cancerous attitude will save the consciousness of our beloved organization and fans and thus you all will not have to deal with any negativity and just relish in the illusion, we are fine.....

And for your own judgmental benefit about me enjoying the criticism and complaining it's one in which after witnessing the similar inadequate decisions for the last 10 to 12 years yes thats YEARS and having my heart systematically broke year after year I have a need too vent............. and at the same time try to bring some reality or atleast another opinion to a discussion

Christ if you're afraid to acknowledge or even see a problem , you'll never be able to fix it. I have no fear of exposing negativity of our organization, for to ignore it is truly ignorant and those sticking there heads in the sand actually are the cancers that causes the problems FYI.

we have positive areas but thats not the focus of this particular post.............It's more the state of our team

Unlike you I do not see the areas of need as easily filled.

And I think that this organization has hit several stumbling stones in their development, which brings cause for a new approach that I'm not sure they've acknowledged or are even aware of from the lack of moves so far (coaching).

But i do believe like you that we have the ability to upgrade and add a few more stones to the foundation that will help us become a legitimate contender but in my opinion we screwed up to much and have to many holes to fill to make it happen this year and realistically must look towards another year or two to be that team.........

A true quality QB must be found and there aren't many options out there at present.........

WR corps isn't fine. You saw what happened last year. When one of our trio goes down, we are screwed. Not to mention, Hartline was the worst of our trio. We need at least 1 more WR that is worth being on the field during the game (so no more Roberto Wallaces, no more Marlon Moores, and no more Julius Pruitts). I would love to add 2 more WRs tbh.

RB position is terrible. We dont have a single RB on our roster right now (unless we tendered someone that I didn't know about)...and either way, if we brought back all 4 guys, we would still have a need for the position. Ricky is done, Cobbs is done, I would like to say Ronnie has some left in the tank but that is probably a lie, and Hilliard is not worthy of being a starter. Hence the reason why he has 23 career rushing attempts in 2 seasons (0 last season).

We need at least 2 new RBs this off season (hopefully one vet that still has something left in them and one rookie with tons of upside - preferably a 1st-3rd round pick).

We don't need to do as much shifting and moving as everyone thinks on our OL. We were very solid when healthy last season and that was with a huge hole at the LG position. All we need to do is fill that LG position (probably in the draft) and let Incognito/Berger compete at C and we will be fine if we can stay healthy.

There isn't a single affordable, decent QB on the market right now. Kolb has potential, but is going to cost high draft picks. Carson is done. Hasslebeck is done. Everyone else is just awful.

I have said it so many times before and I'll say it again. If Henne has a healthy line and a group of targets that can get open/catch the ball, he will be fine. But, the fact of the matter is, he doesn't have much to work with outside of Marshall and Bess. Not even at the TE position. Also, why give up on Henne now? If we go out and draft a QB, that will take us 2-3 seasons to develop into a real "powerhouse" and if we go out and trade for a QB, then we have to give up something (probably draft picks) and have the probability of that QB failing in our system. It's not worth it, when Henne is in the final year of his contract and next year's draft is LOADED with Quarterbacks.

Luck, Barkley, Foles, Landry Jones, Brantley, Cousins, Moore, Pryor, etc...

If it must be, it must be, but I'd rather see the Dolphins and choose from a healthy free agent pool, and I'd prefer to watch the Jets attempt to keep players against an actual salary cap.
