The people didn't want to hear him rap again. The shirt somewhat redeemed the segment.

I'd almost want to see them have the Miz wrestle someone else for the belt, and have the Rock and Cena in a match together. I can't remember another time when the championship was overshadowed by something else like that.

And if Vikki somehow wins her match, I hope the GM offers her a job at a T shirt stand or something like that. lol

I thought it felt forced, the shirt part was great but everything else was bad and what was his point really? It didn't do anything to advance the storyline, if it wasn't Cena talking about The Rock it would have been viewed as a time filler.

Makes you laugh (in a sad way) at just how meaningless championships are now. People that just started watching wrestling from like 2002ish on have no idea how special they were. Hell the way they treat titles now it's almost unreal to think about Montreal in 1997 and how and why that all came about, something like that would never happen now (Shawn Michaels even refused to win the World title numerous times since his comeback because he didn't want to carry the champions work load, go figure right).

I pity any wrestling fan who wasn't watching in the late 90s. Top notch. When WCW started beating Raw in the ratings it really caused the WWF to step things up. Vince clearly had a superior product but I was disappointed when WCW went under because I thought the lack of competition could hurt the WWF. I don't know if that's to blame for things going downhill but it definitely hasn't been the same. The last live wrestling event I attended was actually the last Monday Nitro at panama city beach. I didn't end up staying that long because it was a pain trying to fight for a good spot. I guess the highlight was Shane McMahon's appearance to announce the buyout. With a lot of the younger talent like Chris Jericho already jumping ship it was pretty much inevitable.

I think Cena is doing a good job for the most part. He's not going to beat the Rock at trash talking. Better to just play the 'you're big timing the WWE' angle. How long can the Rock listen to this and not get into the ring? Then Miz tells him to know his role and do his best Ryan Seacrest impersonation at Wrestlemania. Not bad.

100% spot on. Between WCW going under, bad writing/booking, loss of major star power and the rise of UFC are all the reasons why the WWE isn't nearly as popular as it was back in the late 90s. I'm not sure it will ever reach the late 90s level in terms of just awesomeness and in terms of being popular. The 'sport' has changed just so much in the past 10 to 15 years.

I was actually impressed with the Miz with that closing on Raw. First time yet.

Did anyone else notice that when Austin came out, they showed him flicking people off, then the other 3 times he got up on the ropes, they cut his hands off in the shot?

Cena's interview wasn't as good as his first one dissing Rock, but then again, Rock's interview via a satellite wasn't either last week. it came of weak in comparison to either guy's first interview about the other, plus the crowd reaction for Rock's satellite interview was mild at best.

i am with Phinvader though, i liked how Miz got put over at the expense of both of them, thought that was well done. and the JBL-as-Ref swerve before Austin came out and did his routine and then signed himself o ref the match between King and Cole was pretty well played i thought.

I think its a lot like when the rock fought hogan and the crowd turned on the rock. People are hypercritical of cena because, well he's not the rock, and the rock gets a pass because he is the rock. Hopefully both take it up a notch again. I agree with you on the miz segment. It was well played the way they inserted him back into this and I would like to see him going after both and continue winning against both up to wrestlemania. Then a win over both would greatly help him later on, although I don't see that happening, it would be great.
The austin insertion into the kings match was well done. I was thinking to myself even with jbl's entry, something I also thought was good, it would be pretty boring. Austins entry though makes it perfect.

Miz passed the 100 days mark as champion. First time someone has done that in a few years. I don't expect him to reach 150, let alone 200 though.

Wow TNA really screwed over everyone that ordered the PPV last night with their verison of the "Finger Poke of Doom" huh? Paying 40 bucks and the main event lasted literally 1 minute. There are rumors going around that either Jeff Hardy 'wasn't able to work because he wasn't in the right mind set' or that TNA was punishing him for something else but either way TNA should have given the fans another opponent for Sting to face. Either way sounds like TNA really blew it last night.

EDIT: Word is that TNA sent Jeff Hardy home after the PPV and isn't expected to be at this week's tapings.

Wow, that is completely unacceptable no matter what the reason. You would think they would need to refund some money after that. Do they think Vince would ever let that happen.

I highly doubt they're going to refund the money. And no the WWE would never let that happen. If Hardy indeed was wasted and showed up there's no way the WWE would let him main event, they would either run an angle saying Hardy never made it to the area or filmed a backstage angle with Hardy face down in the hall and then have another wrestler wrestle in the main event. Having a main event last a minute long is just a slap in the face to everyone. TNA handled it poorly, Hardy never should have been out there if he wasn't able to complete. They should have had Sting face someone else, sure fans would have been mad but at least they would have gotten a match out of it.

In TNA's defense, there's a possibility that they didn't know he was messed up until he walked out to the ring. For all we know, Hardy locked himself in his room, did a bunch of drugs, then walked to the ramp all drugged out without anyone realizing.

While I guess it could be possible there's no excuse to tell another wrestler to get out there and fight Sting, the refs have earpieces and rely stuff to the wrestlers inside the ring. But to try to debunk your theory it's not like the wrestlers stay in their locker rooms all day and just come out before their match, they have to go over things with the road agents and opponents. Plus before they walk through the curtain they get last minute instructions from the agents as to if plans have changed or how much time they have. But playing devil's advocate to your theory, they should always have a back up plan in case one of the wrestlers gets hurt within the first few minutes or a match. In the WWE if something happened in the main event and one of the wrestlers can't wrestle HBK was the go to guy that would step in. It's just poor planning and a bad job by the company.

Which leads to this question if Hardy really was messed up and couldn't wrestle is there anyway in hell TNA can give him another main event match or shot at a high profile match/feud?

Just starting to watch RAW right now, The Rock completely killed that promo. He might very well be the best talker in the business ever. He's seriously helping the WWE get more buys just by doing these taped interviews.

Yeah I just finished fast forwarding most of it and tuned it for his beat down of Cena. Miz really should go over him at WM as Cena doesn't need the victory or title to stay over while a Miz victory could push him to the next level if done right.

Right before he came out at the end It poped in my head that it was going to be miz. I put together that Cole(Miz's buddy) knew he was going to be there with The Miz earlier saying The Rock may show up tonight. The people were pissed and I laughed.

  35. Samphin

Highly unlikely. most wrestlers don't have their own rooms backstage. Speaking form experience, it is often somewhat cramped backstage. The top tiered guys got their own rooms if they needed it (Hogan, Warrior, Hart, etc.) And most never stayed in their room alone for the entire time before a show. I highly doubt, with the people that are there already (Hogan, Angle, Flair) that Hardy had his own room. And you know he wasn't alone, not with his brother there and his good friend, Shannon Moore.

They knew, they just didn't know how to handle it. Bad planning on their part. Jeff should be fired, and blackballed from the industry...and take his brother with him.

Really crappy Raw. Although, I have never seen Snookie before tonight. Based on what I saw, I like her. (I will NEVER watch a Jersey Shore episode though)

I am getting bored with these taped statements from The Rock. I'm getting sick of Cena too. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I hope Miz gets over on both of them at Wrestlemania and remains champion.

I agree completely with everything you wrote. This is now the 2nd time Hardy was screwed TNA with this crap. He absolutely should be fired and blackballed but you know TNA won't do that. I really doubt the WWE would ever hire either Hardy back in the future due to their behaviors.

I can't wait to see how Matt tries to spin this though should be funny.

I also wonder if this incident with Jeff will hurt his court case that's still pending, I'm not lawyer but it's got to.

Again like I said The Miz has the most to gain by going over at WM, it would be completely foolish for Cena to win the belt from him. I really think a Miz victory will push him to that main event tier. A Cena victory or loss would do nothing for his character. Have CM Punk come out and help Miz beat Cena (thus giving Cena someone new to feud with especially since their mini feud from Dec/Jan never finished) and move Miz to an extended program with John Morrison during the summer.

I think they are setting up another Cena/Orton feud, but with Cena as the heel. Orton is actually eliminating Nexus, where all Cena did is beat them in matches. I think at WM, Orton beats Punk, and after WM, Orton calls out Cena and reminds him of the fact that after all his battles with Nexus, Orton did what Cena couldn't do.
