I bet Orton RKOs out of the GTS. They are pushing hard that he can do his move at any instant.

Punk is another guy that should go over Orton at WM. Orton has nothing to gain/lose at this point let Punk get the victory and then Orton can feud with The Miz until the summer.

While turning Cena heel would certainly give his character a badly needed change I doubt the WWE will pull the trigger on the turn until his merchandise sales start to dip a little.

Heels very rarely go over in the main event of Wrestlemania. It just doesn't happen. You have to remember that this event is essentially their Super Bowl. The end of their fiscal year, in a way and the culmination of a year's worth of twist and turns (more or less). Having it end with a heel on top just completely deflates a crowd. I am not saying that you guys are wrong, as Miz's heat would be pretty severe if we walked into Raw with the belt and a victory over Cena, but I doubt it is going to happen.

Unless he wins screwy and Rock rock bottoms him and helps Cena after the match or something. That still gives the hollywood ending and lets Miz keep the title and the ability to crow about owning Cena. But one can argue that it would be pointless since the Wrestlemania moment belongs to Rock beating the tar out of him, and thus, burying any momentum he might have coming off of a Cena win.

I think what would be a more likely scenario if Miz were to win, would be for the MITB winner (if they have one this year) come out and challenge Miz directly after the match and win the title. But you know that won't happen as Miz is most likely going to be tapping out in the middle of the ring to end WM.

As for Punk, he is teflon, he doesn't gain or lose anything by winning/losing. Call it th eJericho effect but he simply is in that stratosphere now that was vacated by Jericho. Meaning he can do anything with anyone and it is legit. He cna main event, he can tag team, or he can simply have a low level fued and fans by into it. In my opinion, he doesn't have to beat Orton in order garner any credibility or anything like that. Punk is a made man.

Here's the video of the TNA 'match' Sting vs. Hardy:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lckr9OLR2Ow

Yeah it runs 10 minutes long but you can see Bischoff running down before the match wasn't planned and he was giving instructions to both guys on the changed finish when he went over to shake each guys hand. The funniest part is at the end when the fans are chanting "BS" and Sting yells out "I agree". Definitely interesting to watch.

I don't think you could really tell he's out of it during the match when they don't even do anything. The shirt throwing was the only thing that looked strange.

Answer, he looks out of it from the VERY get go. The stumbling walk to the ring, almost falling off the stairs, shuffling his feet. None of his normal energy is there, and the close ups of his face during the video reveal spaced out eyeballs. Sting is pissed and rightfully so.

Kudos to Brian Hebner who not only recognized how bad off Hardy was, but threw up the dreaded X sign and took action to ensure the safety of all involved.

Haha, they should at least offer customers who ordered that PPV a discount on the next TNA PPV as well.

Word is Hardy has been unofficially suspended for at least a month as of right now. Again I really can't see how TNA can ever trust him again in a high profile match anymore. If Jeff doesn't get canned TNA should force him to get help or else, and if he does keep his job I bet he goes back to tag teaming with "Cold Blooded" Matt Hardy (which is a dumb nickname for him to have anyway but that's a whole other story) just in case he goes off the deep end again.

This morning I noticed that the documentary 'the rise and fall of WCW' was available for streaming on netflix so I checked it out. There's nothing in there groundbreaking that you probably didn't already know if you're a fan but overall I enjoyed it. There is a ton of commentary from a lot of different personalities who give perspectives of what was going on at the top of WCW during it's heyday and eventual fall. It brought back a lot of memories for me and showed me a few of the things that definitely did start turning me away from WCW and to the WWF. Everybody from all sides admit the competition made the business thrive. Too bad there's nothing around now that can challenge Vince in that way.

There's a lot of new WWE stuff on Netflix like 'The True Story of Wrestle Mania' that I'm going to watch soon. Others available that I highly recommend is the Chris Jericho, Ricky Steamboat and Top 50 Wrestlers doc.

The Jericho documentary was excellent. I knew WCW had screwed the pooch with him, it's good to know 12 years later why nothing ever came of his feuding with Goldberg. Those guys were idiots.

Well Goldberg was the biggest idiot because he not only didn't understand what Jericho was trying to do (build a good program with heat and give Goldberg the rub) because he was so green but he refused to wrestle him. Jericho would have jobbed like a pro and made him look like a million bucks too. Instead Goldberg's first title reign was filled with beating Curt Hennig numerous times in throwaway matches, having a good match with DDP at Halloween Havoc (that no one saw because the Hogan/Warrior match ran too long) and getting beaten by Nash with the Mountie's (Scott Hall) help.

As bad as WCW at times, they make TNA look like a junior high school play in comparison.

And yes the Jericho doc was extremely well done, as is 90% of the WWE DVD docs. I really hope we great a Rock and Savage doc sometime soon, because while DVDs of just matches are nice the doc part is equally enjoyable.

Agreed but I didn't get the impression WCW really tried that hard to sell it to him. I think everybody in the world except Bischoff and Goldberg realized at that point that Jericho was more than just mid card talent.

I'd like to see them try to add more of the actual matches to the documentaries. Mick Foley is a guy I'd like to see a documentary of if one doesn't exist already.

In current news does anybody know if Rock is going to be on tonight's Raw or next Monday's?

Goldberg was the Kimbo Slice of WCW. His popularity sky rocketed and WCW rode him as far as they could before his lack of training started to show and ultimately probably cut one of the best ever's careers short.

That's pretty generous. He's definitely got the look but nothing he did in the ring was overly impressive outside of his feats of strength. I was glad when his streak ended. I was actually rooting for Hogan to end it even though I knew there was no way that was happening. As far as a lack of training it was definitely showing but that's on him to be open to things that can benefit him. Let's be honest, from a sports entertainment standpoint Jericho has more talent in his pinky than Goldberg has period. And Goldberg refused to do any real work with the guy because he's not 300 pounds. That's not how you learn, develop, and get better. But to be a little fairer to him the 'big stars' of WCW at the time were all just hanging out and collecting a check. None of them were going to go out of their way to better Goldberg or help his future.

I believe The Rock won't appear live on RAW until the week before WM.

If you're just watching the docs on Netflix you won't see any full matches, but if you buy the DVDs they usually have at least 2 full discs of matches, usually 20 or so to each set.

Foley never got a doc but did get a good DVD with just matches. He won't get a doc until he returns to the WWE.

It is what ended Bret's career. He took a back kick right to the skull. You seem him grab his head immediately. Bad concussion which is probably at least partially to blame for his medical issues down the road.

Watched the WrestleMania doc, while I enjoyed it I wish they spend more time on each individual WM and talked about more than 1 or sometimes 2 matches on each card. I also liked to have heard some almost matches or results that didn't happen (i.e. how DiBiase was originally booked to win the title at WM4 or how Hogan/Zeus was pencilled in for WM6 or why they never did Hogan/Warrior 2 at WM7). But I guess with 2 hours and 27 WMs they're limited with time. Overall it was a fun doc but I would never buy it.

To answer a couple of those things: The reason they never did Hogan/Warrior 2 was twofold. First off, Warrior was pretty much a flop as a champion, and transitioned the belt off of him and onto Slaughter to try and capitolize on the Iraq/U.S. conflict with Slaughter/Hogan. The other reason was of course, Warrior's complete unreliabilty. They couldn't risk him no showing a main event at WM. So they put him in a program with Macho Man and called it good.

The Dibiase fiasco was just that, but they wanted to elevate Savage, so the switch was made to try and make another mega star with Savage, similar to what they did with Hogan (and it worked to a degree).

As a sidenote: Miami Mike's (A Dolphins themed bar in New Jersey that this site has a loose association with) will be featured on Raw for a Snooki segment. I am curious if they mad eMike take down all the Miami Dolphins stuff or how they shot around it, if at all. Just something to look for.

It's also kind of uneven. Some guys get what seems to be 5-6 minutes while others only get 2-3. They mainly give the current roster more time, which I guess I can kind of understand, it's just that I know them quite well already (most have their own DVD sets), so they should have gone the other way with it IMO.

Agreed - and that's a selling point for me with most of their DVD sets, especially the career retrospectives. Though not having the matches was a blessing in disguise for the Big Show doc.

Yeah I watched it via Netflix. 50 Greatest Superstars is my next watch.

I had heard the original plan was to have DiBiase win the title at WM4 because he was the extremely hot as heel so they wanted DiBiase to carry the belt until the summer and have Savage win it from him at the first Summer Slam to give the event a big time main event. The reasons why they never gave DiBiase the win was: 1.) Hogan didn't like the idea and the Honky Tonk Man had refused to drop the IC title to Savage earlier in the year and was threatening to show up in another territory (NWA or AWA I forget which) with the belt and the WWE didn't want to have three heel champions at the same time. So the WWE rewarded Savage with the World Title instead of the IC belt and then gave DiBiase the Million Dollar belt as a thank you since he didn't get to win the world title after all which DiBiase has backed up in interviews.

As for the Warrior stuff, I don't think he was a risk to no show a main event at that point in time it was after he lost the title that he started not to care. I know he wasn't drawing as champion and all the war stuff and although we did get a great Warrior/Savage match but it's a huge what if. Maybe if they gave Slaughter the title from Warrior at Survivor Series and Warrior the belt back at the Rumble the Warrior come have gotten some heat back.

Obviously we're never going to get real answers or anything that juicy from a WWE production but it would have been nice to hear a discussion on some what ifs or why they switched programs etc. They kind of went down that road with the Hogan/Flair WM8 stuff.

I was at Walmart today and they had a whole rack of WWE DVDs out for ten bucks apiece. They had various collections and several Wrestlemanias sitting there. I grabbed a three disc series on the Rock [it has about 19 of his most notable matches] and a three disc 'best of hell in the cell' series.

Both solid choices. I'm currently rewatching The Rock's DVD now. You might want to check out Best of Saturday Night's Main Event (I highly recommend it) and obviously any HBK DVD, Flair DVD, Macho Man and Bret Hart's. The Rise and Fall of ECW DVD is great too.

I also have and like the Ladder Match DVD but like the HiTC DVD after awhile you get burnt out watching the same gimmick match over and over again.

The Road Warriors are going to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, which will be announced tonight. Why the WWE didn't induct them a few years ago when WM was in Chicago is strange (maybe the WWE wanted more time to pass for Hawk's death since they had be getting a lot of negative press about early deaths in wrestling around that time) but they definitely deserve to be in there. Hopefully Demolition will one day get in too.

Demolition probably will not go in since Vince doesn't own their name if I am not mistaken. Bill Eadie (Demolition Ax) owns the name and rights to that I believe.

Annnd Austin, Stratus, Undertaker, HHH, Rock, and HBK all on Raw tonight. This is just missing Bret Hart and it isthe late 90's all over again. But I wll say, that the final Raw buildup to W so far has been pretty good, even if the WM card itself is sort of lacking.

I believe there's still a pending lawsuit on who really owns the naming rights to Demolition. Vince claims he does and Eadie claims he does so there's obvious bad blood between the WWE and Eadie that has been going on for years.
