Funny if you think about it but Ponder versus Mallett is almost like which Dolphin Hall-of-Famer QB replacement would you like. The guy that tries to be Bob Griese or the guy that tries to be Dan Marino. You have to think that Ponder healthy is really just an ideal fit for what Miami wants to accomplish on the field. Things are looking better as far as quarterbacks go.

He seems like an obvious target to me, a great fit- if he medically checks out. I would pass on Newton and Locker at #15 and take Ponder there. That being said, if Julio Jones slipped to #15... But he won't. As always I have my eye on Gabe Carimi.

That was in the UD Draft Winds thing. Jimbo is a pretty vanilla guy but he can coach quarterbacks well because he knows their strengths.

Newton will be gone. You would actually consider Locker at 15

Ponder at 15 is a big stretch come on now.

Not nearly as much as it was a month ago. Ponder seems pretty secure as a pick in the 16-25 range. The Phins drafting him at 15 isn’t totally out of the realm of possibility.

Try reading the post again or perhaps look into "Hooked on Phonics." I said that I would not take Locker at #15 nor would I take Newton. I wouldn't even consider Mallett there.
Ponder is not a reach at #15 imo but I'd rather trade down, pick up a 2nd and take him later in the 1st.

Not as big of a stretch as any of the other quarterbacks that are being talked about at the top of the Draft.

Nothing is a given. Watching Rodgers and more recently Quinn free fall tells me anything can happen. Do I think Newton will be there at #15? No. But, I also won't arbitrarily conclude he will be gone until I see him come off the board.

I think we either take Mallett with the 15th overall or trade down and maybe take Ponder in Round Two.
