http://dolphinsindepth.blogspot.com/2008/04/jason-taylor-saga-will-become-heated.html Late Sunday evening when I came to understand the full scope of the current relationship between Jason Taylor and Bill Parcells, I felt like the referee in the middle of a cable television wrestling match. I wrote about that decaying relationship in my column Monday [read it here: http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/story/512073.html] and basically advocated that Taylor and Parcells should just forget their differences, call each other, and make nice. I am told that is not going to happen. What is more likely to happen is that as early as TODAY the Taylor camp will call the Dolphins and renew its request to be traded. Agent Gary Wichard is scheduled to call Parcells or general manager Jeff Ireland and once again remind the Dolphins that Taylor wants to play for a playoff-caliber team in 2008. He will also remind them the Dolphins are not a playoff-caliber team, no matter what they might want you to believe.
I did say on numerous occasions that I didnt think he would be traded unless he wanted to be traded. It looks like that is the case now but I wouldnt discount that both parties will kiss and make up.There could be some misunderstanding involved. Having said that IMO the local press has been less than accurate with their assesments. In fact IMO they have jumped to conclusions based on thin evidence too often. I hope he remains a Dolphin.Just imagine how Jake Long will benefit from learning from one off the best edge rushers in the business. That alone in my mind justifies his stay for another year.
Two things: One, Armando must not have gotten the memo that the whole point of hiring football people to run the operation was to let them RUN THE OPERATION. How is he going to sit there and say it's Wayne's fault for not stepping in and demanding Taylor be traded? how do you think Bill would react to having his full authority over Dolphin World trampled on less than half a year after he takes the job? yeah, right Two, It's ironic that JT was a one of the most vocal proponents of getting us out of the CaMuel clutch. (sorry samphin). Be careful what you ask for, I suppose....
Oh I absolutely agree. He has done nothing but be an incredible player and an even better guy. Love JT, what he brings and what he is.....but Would love to trade for a SD Corner and would LOVE for him to get a ring and be SB-MVP
Ain't it the truth !! One other thing that annoys me in that article is the cavalier way Armando puts JTs desire to "play for a playoff team". I read that and thought......yea? so?...and absolutely no mention of the fact that Taylor has a contract to honor
