http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/.../2008/04/27/dolphins_sign_hawaii_wr_bess.html Brigham Young linebacker Kelly Poppinga, Hawaii receiver Davone Bess, Georgia Southern quarterback-turned-receiver Jayson Foster, Delaware tackle Mike Byrne, Boise State tackle Dan Gore and Montana kicker Dan Carpenter were among Miami’s first signings in the frenzied rookie free-agent signing period that began as soon as Mr. Irrelevant was chosen.
Robertson and Hall are fielding offers tonite through the early week. Would be great to get them. Not sure Bill would want Blake, but he has some great measures. Lee2000
I like the Kelly Poppinga and Davone Bess signings. Glad we were able to bring them in without using any picks.
Updated per the Palm Beach Post. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/blogs/.../2008/04/27/dolphins_sign_hawaii_wr_bess.html Portland State tackle Daren Heerspink,
Thanks for the updates! I wonder why Poppinga didn't get drafted. It seems like I heard his name getting thrown around quite a bit.
Just for the heck of it, I wish they'd invite this guy. Texas State's Chris MacDonald. "MacDonald earns his third All-America honor of the season, as he was named Walter Camp and American Football Coaches Association. He led Division I's Football Championship Subdivision in punting during his senior year with a 45.92 yards per punt average. Despite punting from only eight yards back of center, he still got the ball off with one step. Of MacDonald's 49 punts, 19 were over 50 yards."
me too. This makes me feel better about us not drafting a WR. Hopefully Bess works out well and can get himself a spot on the roster. Think he has some pretty good potential
