Use this forum to predict anything you would like about the upcoming rounds. Here is a list of our remaining picks: •Round 3, Pick 79 •Round 4, Pick 111 •Round 5, Pick 146 •Round 6, Pick 179 •Round 7, Pick 216 •Round 7, Pick 217 •Round 7, Pick 234 I predict that if we do trade up if will either be for Ryan Mallett, Tawain Jones or Mickel Leshoure. That being said I think the likelihood that we trade up is slim to none. Whether its popular or not I have a feeling we could go with OG Will Rackley from Lehigh (if he is available) with our upcoming 3rd and if Leshoure and Jones are off the board. I could also see us drafting a TE in the third, possibly DJ Williams. We will draft two running backs this year, I predict two between rounds 4 and 6. Personally, unless Mallett is there in the 3rd which I doubt I think we should just surround Henne with the best talent possible and if he fails again this year, or doesn't show signs of development we trade the house and secure a top notched QB in next years draft. I have been a huge critic of Henne, but he still has a lot of talent and could still develop. Give him one more year and then pull the plug. (I'll probably add more tomorrow, just too tired right now) Oh and I bet the Patriots trade #33 for a future first lol
I would not be surprised by a trade in the slightest, but I think it would be a minor one - packaging a pick that round plus one of our 7ths to move up like 4ish spots. We have done that a few times if memory serves me. I do NOT think we trade into round two, and I do not think we give up any picks next year that are above round 4. I think we see one more OL, probably another developmental tackle, in a late round. I also thing we see 1-2 defenders chosen late as situational guys. In round 3 I see us taking either a TE or a RB.
If we trade up I hope its for Mikel LeShoure but I don't think its possible. So I don't know how the grading is on players but this is how I think it ends up if we Miami doesn't make any trades which they will. 3(79)-Ricky Stanzi, QB, Iowa 4(111)-Virgil Green, TE, Nevada 5(146)-Siona Fua, NT, Stanford 6(179)-Roy Helu Jr, RB, Nebraska 7(216)-Aldrick Robinson, WR, SMU 7(217)-Marcus Ball, S, Memphis 7(234)-Brandon Saine, RB, Ohio St
Alex Greene in round 4 or 5 is also a strong possibility especially if they decide to go with a Patriots like system that features multiple TEs, 3 WR sets, and one RB sets early and often. A guy like Greene with a Kendricks, Marshall, Hartline, and perhaps a deep threat on the field would constantly hurt defenses.
If this Front Office / HC believes it needs to win now in order to save their futures, why wouldn't they use next years pick/s to move back into the second round and pick up one of those RB's, this would leave us with a 3rd to get a much needed upgrade at TE. Afterall they may not be here in 12 months to use them picks anyway.
It's a possibility. They may say this guy is a legitimate RB worthy of a first round pick anyway, let's get him and perhaps a third rounder. They might take the risk. Say draft Ryan Williams, draft Lance Kendricks, draft a speed WR, and then draft maybe Helu Jr. Is Ryan Williams worth a first round pick at RB is the question you have to ask.
Third Round: Kenrick Ellis, DT, Hampton Fourth Round: Chris Stewart, OG, Michigan Fifth Round: Shaun Chapas, FB, Georgia Sixth Round: Konrad Reuland, TE, Stanford Seventh Round: Lawrence Marsh, DT, Florida Seventh Round: John Clay, RB, Wisconsin Seventh Round: Jake Rogers,K, Cincinnati
1. Everyone will hate the pick because Ireland is "gutless". 2. Everyone will hate the pick because they didn't draft the player they wanted Miami to pick. 3. Everyone will hate the pick just because. 4. I will hate the pick if it's Andy Dalton or Colin Kaepernick. 5. Virgil Green 6. A surprise WR.
#79 Steve Wisniewski #110 Ryan Williams #149 Virgil Green #179 Aldrick Robinson #217 Te out of VA #218 Steven Schilling
At this point, why even bother with a QB unless Mallett slips all the way to the 3rd round. Let these guys sink or swin with Henne as we're getting to the dregs of the draft class anyway.
same sentiment. If Mallett slips to 3rd round, take him. If not, best TE or RB available. I doubt Williams and Leshoure last to the 3rd round.
if mallett slips past buffalo, 49ers, oakland, redskins, seattle and cincy (2 times for several of these teams) then there must be something seriously wrong with the kid mentally since physicallly he is a stud
#3 better be a RB, thats for sure IMO. Hopefully there's some good ones left there for us. Unless we try and move up to get one.
Friend brandon27: don't see a RB as the crucible in this draft with an effective offensive line both Ricky & Ronnie have some rubber left to burn along with the blazing speed of Kory Sheets & Mr. ShortYardage Polite, we're good
I am going to go out on a limb here and say either Dalton or Mallet in the third. I think one will slip and could be Dalton. The question is if one is available, will Ireland pull the trigger?
RD 2: if we move up -- OLB: Ayers, B Reed * RB: Williams*, Thomas WR: Gates*, Robinson* TE: Williams RD3: TE: Cameron, Thomas* RB: Ridley*, Todman WR: Gates*, Robinson*
I don't think he is worth but if they want to move back in and take a QB and can't. I can see them reaching for a QB. I'd be find with McElroy later in the draft.
if we move into the second round i pray either take a wr to stretch the field or an impact player on D like a safety, LB, or corner. we dont need a QB right now we got one in Henne plus Luck is coming out next year thats the QB we need to get. kinda wished we had moved back to stack picks but i like the pouncey pick cause it makes RB less of a need.
nah, OL is done til maybe a later G/T to develop ..... move up and its a skill player - SOLB, WR, TE or RB who has a chance to make an impact.
