..... all the complaining lemmings who want to jump off a cliff together. Please remember to hold hands on the way down. These players have yet to suit up and you're already trashing our draft? Unbelievable!!! We ARE a running team. R-U-N-N-I-N-G. What part of that do some of you not understand? That means our big guys need to push the other big guys of different colored shirts away from our guy carrying a little brown thing so he can run toward a skinny, yellow thing further down the field. We have NO ZERO ZIP NADA starting running back, yet it's foolish for us to trade up to get the best one on the board? What horrible logic I tell ya!!! We snagged arguably the best lineman of the draft which fills a MASSIVE need, yet you guys complain? :double facepalm: The ENTIRE NFL passes on Mallett nearly 3 times (who would be sitting behind Henne I might add), yet you complain we didn't draft him in the first round? :triple facepalm:
The Cardinals have....Max Hall, John Skelton, and Derek Anderson at QB. Seriously, that's two second year players and a Derek Anderson....and they skipped on Mallett 3 times. They had him in the 3rd and STILL didn't draft him. The damn Bills refused to touch Mallett. They haven't had a QB since Jim Kelly. They didn't even have a Fiedler or one-hit wonder Pennington.
no, we failed because we couldn't execute and didn't have the players capable of it. Sooner or later these defenses will get smaller & smaller while gearing up to defend the pass..... and we'll be stomping their puny butts with a mauling ground game. It's cyclical.
Anyone wanna say that their gonna ''quit'', or ''I sssswear itsssss over for me'', or, I have jusssssst had it with thisssss regime, can STFU, and GTFOtta here...
I foresee us drafting at least one more RB and probably getting one that may go undrafted. I really wanted Ingram or Vereen but Thomas will do just fine.
yup. Agree friend CJ. Sparano still wants his speedy COP back I believe. Boomer would probably s*** on his keyboard, but it could be Taiwan Jones in the 4th. lol.
Look for Dion Lewis. A cold weather speedster who is still on the board. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCMGvFoNwLE&NR=1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1wwCS_BBVI&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpJmJD0kIcI&feature=related Dion Lewis, RB, Pittsburgh Height: 5-7. Weight: 192. Projected 40 Time: 4.48. Combine 40 Time: 4.57. Pro Day 40 Time: 4.49. Benchx225: . Vertical: 34.5. Broad: . Projected Round (2011): 3-5. 3/17/11: Dion Lewis did not have a good Combine, but redeemed himself with a great Pro Day. He ran a 4.49 and looked really good in the drills. His change of direction and footwork really impressed. 7/26/10: Think Dion Lewis did an OK job replacing LeSean McCoy? Lewis tallied 1,799 rushing yards and 17 touchdowns on a 5.5 average, and also grabbed 25 balls for 189 receiving yards. He may seem light at 195, but remember that he's only 5-8, so that would translate to someone who's 5-11, 205 or so. http://walterfootball.com/draft2011RB.php
We really need to focus on getting some speed on the backfield, and preferably someone that we can throw to in the flats. It's been a long time since we have had that dimension in the game and we need it.
Could always find that in free agency too though. I would just relax, pick D.J. Williams if he's there and see what happens in the sixth round. Team's not as ****ed as people make it out to be. All you can ask for are contributors, just constant contributors. If in the sixth they see a linemen for example, go ahead and pick him. By the way. Jacquizz Rodgers. Cya all in the morning.
On this point you and I totally agree! As for all the other homie crapola, I ain't going nowhere, deal with it!
question that is sure to pique interest.... Are the Steelers a contender because of their overall philosophy or because of Ben Roethlsberger? And you're not allowed to say both...
I love Quizz but ain't getting my hopes up. Seldom do my favorite college players in any given year become Phins.
Good OP TP. while it would have been a very nice feeling to draft a QB in the 2nd round to give us more hope, I'm also more than okay spending our draft picks to beef up the offense around Henne for one more year. I also don't rule out Palmer eventually wearing a dolphins uniform. If that happens, given our first two picks + hopefully a TE to come, we'll be happier, closer to our 2008 season, IMO. Plus, the way I look at it, Mallett will be tradebait in a couple of years for some other team looking to give the patsies yet another first rounder. I'd be more upset if the Bills drafted him. at least now, he won't be winning games for anyone. (if we can't have him, then at least we don't have to play against him). I really hope we don't draft any of the remaining QBs. spend our draft picks on TEs and LBs.
Completely agree my friend. We're probably on the same page thinking another position will hopefully contribute this season where as a late round QB wont. Let's get our back up and Henne's competition in free agency. Shared sentiments?
This sounds SO familiar...I believe I heard it after the draft of Ted Ginn, and after the draft of Jason Allen, and after the draft of Eddie Moore, and after the draft of Jamar Fletcher and after the draft of JJ Johnson...and, well, you get the idea.
And if you are proud of the fact that we are trying to be a R-U-N-N-I-N-G team in today's P-A-S-S-I-N-G NFL, then a Facepalm right back at you. Enjoy the upcoming 6-10 season. This isn't about Mallet. It's about no RB save for maybe Ingram was worth trading up for in this draft.
I hope we draft two RB's hopefully the second will post a better time to help give us another dimension. Daniel Thomas has good size, skills, ect, his speed doesn't worry me but faster would defiantly make him a better back for us what i don't like is the fumbles. Fumbles are more than likely turnovers which Ricky just killed us with last season.
Defense. Purely Defense. Dick Lebeau! Someone said what was there record without Ben. Better yet, what were they without Troy? about the same as the packers were without Clay. Still want to draft a suspect qb or pick up another OLB?
