Like my title tell, I think we absolutely need upgrading our beloved team but I really don’t spend our Fa spend next year draft pick ( we will need the maximum ammunition to trade up if necessary to pick our future franchise QB).

So with that in mind, I think our FO must absolutely search in the FA player pool and on player that could be released.

I did that, and I see many names that could be available and in competition with our future starters if we could sign them.

At QB : 3 names could be available after cut : 49ers will not keep alex smith, david carr and kaepernick on their team, so I look at CARR , SMITH and my third choice is a QB we could had but ……..

    Here we go
    David carr

Resume : That aren’t superstars stats but CARR never played behind a solid OL with TEXANS and when he faced our team, he beat us + in his GIANT JERSEY, look at his stats behind a solid OL and like me you could think perhaps he would not be a bad choice behind our OL ( we hope all since our draft that our OL will be a top 7 OL in NFL this year) and he could IMO really be a good stopgap solution for the next 2 year with Henne and our future franchise QB.

Resume : One more time, no superstars stats but his last 2 years his stats are improving, and never played under the same OC and philosophy, so perhaps he is winning in maturity and he could be solid behind a solid OL and without doubt miniscule interest in the league for him, he could be cut or buy with a late round pick or a late and why not merling !

Resume : My third choice, but he’s young and he could compete with Henne behind a solid OL too.

At RB : IMO we will resign either Ronnie or Ricky ( I tell you than before his speech, Ricky was my favourite choice………….now after his speech, I don’t know what to think about him , but we will sign one of them and why not a speedster but IMO not Sproles (too much money).

At WR : sorry guys who think we are set, but I disagree, I think we need help here too because if Marshall or Bess goes down…….we are doomed in the abyss……and don’t tell my gates can be the guys………because in his first year his rolel will be to learn and be a speedster on 3 and 4 WR set

My choice here is Mark Clayton :

Resume : not starters stats here, but solid back up with better average than Marshall last year and he possess experience, he’s not old could be add in FA market and IMO he’s better than Wallace or Moore.

At TE : I’am fine with Fasano and Clay , and I have a feeling that Clay will be a special player (good catch ability, not bad blocking and always find a free space in the opponent defense) and will become our franchise TE for many years to come.

At OL : I think we will add 1 depth guy in insurance policy but not a big name because with Long-incognito-Pouncey-Jerry-Carey we have a really solid OL, we only need another Back up with Berger and garner

At DL : Our best unit IMO, we have ability and depth, so I could see a Merling or Starks trade to win next year draft pick or in package for 1 QB…….but IMO Kearse was a lost pick because we haven’t need another DL and I would have preferred a QB prospect like taylor Potts, Ben Chappell or Van Camp with this pick.

At LB : I could see us to push for another OL pass rusher in case Misi or Wake goes down at ILB I think Crowder could be cut or traded because with Dansby, Dobbins and Edds we are set

At CB : I really would like us to add another ex hurricane in Phillip buchanon, I really think he could be better than benny sapp or jimmy wilson in our DB

At safetie : IMO we are set and we will see this year if clemons is our FS for many years or he struggle, we will pick a safetie too in next year draft or FA period.

I send you a hello from france and hope read your opinions finsfans !

It explains soooo much. Doesn't explain wanting David Carr, but still explains a lot.

BTW don't worry about your english, we have folks living here that won't take the time to learn to speak english. Which to me shows you have way more respect for us than they!
    Hello back, and WELCOME!

Now for your post I think 1. Carr scares me in that he has been beat up badly, very hard to come back from that and be successful. 2. By all accounts Alex Smith has been wooed by the 49ers to return and he is open to doing that which leaves us with your 3rd choice of 3. Brady Quinn, my understanding is that Daboll does not think highly of this guy and quite frankly I don't either. I say that with much respect to you!

If we must have a Vet to challenge Henne there are a few on the junk pile that might last a year but ........ having said all that If Henne is this HC's choice, it appears it is then bring back Thigpin, who he also likes and let the best man win.

This way we neither waste a 2012 draft pick and the cost in money and effort in getting a Vet up to speed is curtailed to a managed level imo.

Hope to see you post often.

Good to hear from any Finfan from overseas! I don't really agree with the WR position, I think we have a lot of youngsters now that I want to see play before we get a vet. I think that the Qb situation is interesting, do we get a legit challenge to Henne or do we go with a career backup and avoid a competition? I think we need to force Henne to outplay a vet and if he doesn't perform in the preseason he needs to sit. Henne needs to be challenged and we need to force him to open it up and use that god damn arm he has and take shots.

The necessity for Henne to "earn" the job may have left w/ Pennington. The team was still loyal to Penne, not Bulger or Hasselbeck or anyone else. For me, its either build around Henne & support him, or get rid of him and build around some other young QB. Chasing washed up vets like Culpepper, Feeley, Green, Griese & Harrington will get us just what we've been getting, more suckage.
