I wasnt even going to bother,but now I feel the need to. I was in the middle of that "discussion" in that thread and things went downhill fast. It started with the fact Mandich implied in his final days that he was a Henne supporter. Then, it was suggested by a forum member,innocently,that if Henne does NOT pan out, theres an option in the future. I didnt sense any disrespect towards Mandich but someone else ( and he`s entitled to that) felt otherwise. Another member **********, then took it upon himself to openly fly into a profanity laced tirade towards me,which I took offense to. I tried to explain that he was strongly over reacting but he wouldnt listen to reason. Approximately 10 posts into the thread I realized things were getting immaturely out of hand so I decided to send ********** a PM. In the PM I stated that I did not appreciate the degrading remarks implied toward me in the forum. I also APOLOGIZED to him if anything I said offended him. I asked him if we can act like adults and move on,being as this whole thing was becoming childish. Also,in my PM, I stated I would never intentionally disrespect Mandich in any way, shape or form.I went on to say that I was lucky enough to meet the man in 78 when he was a member of the Steelers at a charity event. I was wearing a Dolphins hat at the time and he noticed it and we briefly met, I also got an autograph that I still appreciate. I explained this to ********** and apologized once again for things getting blown out of proportion. Unfortunately, that wasnt the end of it,far from it. He went back into the forum thread and continued to bash me,and others, with more profanity and out of control tirades. Once again I took offense that he used my name in other posts to prove his point. Myself,and other forum members, tried to get him to listen to reason and let it just END. He wouldnt do it. I also admitted early on in the thread that it indeed was the wrong place and time for such a debate but that didnt matter to him. As a final result the Mods stepped in and banned ********** for his actions. No one else,to my knowledge,got banned. I`m not saying I was glad he got banned but he clearly overstepped the TOS boundaries. I have every intention of reaching out to **********, when his ban is over to try and put this behind us. I can only hope he agrees. This is a great forum with great people and I appreciate it and respect it.
