    Dear Abbi,
Are you assuming Ireland had a QB available he rated as equal quality wise to the quality of the OL he did take? Do you think it is possible he did not think it the most prudent move to give up most of this year's picks or maybe some of next year's, to move up for Gabbert, Locker or Ponder? Did you know that all three of them had no better career QB ratings coming out of college than Henne did?

Had you been running the draft for Miami, what would you have done differently?

According to our Guru's Ireland had Pouncey #3 behind Locker and Ponder. He either didn't have the ammo or the desire to trade up for them though.

    Not assuming anything

Just stating that IMO the QB position is THE most important position to fill on a team and that if in need a organization needs to do all it can to acquire one even if it means missing out on a O-lineman or the oline is not efficient yet (with the basic understanding that the level of quality (QB) is there....if not then you move on to fill other needs........

My posts here have not been on individuals or what the organizations thinking process was, or quality of available QBs. Thats a whole NEW DISCUSSION.....

So on a different topic in answering your questions,
Obviously Ireland didn't think the right QB was available to him because if he did we see no problem with us moving up to acquire players Thomas, Clay or Gates forget which one was a move up.

Now was this a good move ? time only will tell and if Mallet or Dalton or one of the others we could of had turns out to be a good great QB and were are left with holding the bag again (Brees 1&2 ) , personally I won't be happy although there are many here who will continue justifying the incompetence.

I'm not a draft expert to say we should of picked up QB so and so but I do feel the need is their that maybe in the second (or even the 1st) round going out on a limb for a QB might have not been a bad idea. Now there is still FA so the book is not finished,
Just possibly a major blown opportunity that only time will tell is right or wrong...

If I was running the draft it's tuff to say because I'm not educated enough with the players but I have no problem with Pouncey though I think I would have seriously thought of Ingram #1 and Mallet the second pick.

We all are just going to have to wait and see how it all turns out. Im not real excited but still hoping for the best....

Unless there have been actual quotes from Ireland or even Sparano on the matter, any claims to knowing how it was indeed stacked amount to hearsay.

Without a 2nd, we were a little short of ammo to move up, unless one either wants to give away most of the current draft or part of next year's draft.
For anyone lamenting missing out on Gabbert, Locker or Ponder, none of them had a better QB rating coming out of college than Henne did. If we had made the move and took one of them, there would be the same learning curve as with Henne and we would be back to 2009 at the best all over again.

That sentence takes on a whole new meaning if you x-out a few words.

I'm guessing the first word is "big" since "puny" would be 4 letters. Anyone? Is there a 3 lettered synonym for puny?

I know right! That's so annoying when one poster suffocates a thread with numerous pointless posts in a row. It's simple common courtesy really; if anyone needs a mentor, just PM me and I'll be glad to help. :shifty:

His name is Todd. Boob is his sister. We call her that because she only gots one, the other one was shot off by a drunken customer at the cat house where she works as a sportin' lady. Anyway, me and the missus is both real proud of our Todd. He is the first one of our family to graduate 6th grade. No more possum hunting or cuttin' cord wood to make a few dollars for him.

Puny can mean like when you are not feeling at your best. So maybe 'ill' Also it can mean like a wimp which can also be a wus.

Wus maybe then? Frank Coyle calls me that all the time, and the bastard hides out in New Joisy where I can't put a few knots on his Irish head.:tantrum:

    Common courtesy ...lol

Ya, your post is one full of knowledge and sensitivity and common courtesy..... Take a look in the mirror

Don't worry you'll soon have support from some of your other peanut gallery gang to help show more of "your" type common courtesy....
But i do agree with you that I suffocated the thread with repeated statements in the effort of trying to get one of your buds to understand the basic statement, but it was a failed effort even after all that he still doesn't get it and will not go on and won't waste anymore of my time arguing with children......

    I appreciate your concern
But I also have been around these forums from the start actually discussed stuff in the herald forum before this one existed. And see many who have come over here. Now I don't expect any special treatment and am familiar with the gang effect in forums.

Respect is given when respect is shown and it's clear to see the couple (down below) consider themselves beyond reproach and I guess extremely sensitive to being the know alls in this forum.................. hey thats fine with me

Listen he may be one of the most astute but it's clear to see he can not handle adversity and I'm sorry to say after repeated posts never actually fathomed the statement, and turning it in a way that wasn't relevant to the statement.

Appreciate your welcome and look forward to adding intelligent conversations and staying away from childishness. But I must say I'am one who see's positive in acknowledging and facing weakness and enjoy debate with posters who are not afraid of exposing negativity. The positive stuff in my book is already good and needs little discussion........
Again appreciate and thank you for welcoming me.......

That whole post you just ranted about had nothing to do with you. It was me making fun of and complaining about MYSELF for posting like 6 times in a row. You see Abbi, people like to occasionally visit ThePhins as a form of retreat from the craziness of their daily life, which means many of us like to interject some humor (or in KingMotion's part- a lack thereof) into this home away from home.

And FYI-- about your "arguing with children" comment, Oz is like sixty-two years old...... he's practically old enough to be on of MrClean's grand kids.

by adversity, do you mean holding him down, hogtying him (he might like that though), and cramming your opinion down his throat until he mutters uncle? Just sayin.

I'm not sure what this means if you don't mind elaborating.

Ozzy's middle name is adversity. Get him to tell ya about the time he was fishing in the everglades and his bass boat got surrounded by a bunch of rabid alligators. You won't believe how he got out of that one.

Anyway, levity aside, really Ozzy is one of the nicest, most level headed and knowledgeable posters this forum has IMO. I just think in your exchange of posts there was some lack of clear understanding.
Some of us like to kid around a little, poke fun at one another, but can still have time for serious football talk. Ozzy handles all aspects of it just fine. Like I said, I've known him on Dolphins forums easily over 10 years.

Far be it for me to ever make fun of Ozzy. He is one of my heroes around here. Heck how can you not respect a guy who still excels at extreme sports in his mid 60s and fights off a pack of hungry gators with nothing but a hip boot, an aluminum paddle and a Barlow knife?

WOW it seems I've missed out on a great serve and volly never the less I will endeaver to push on.

The latest on my prognostication of our QB, one Chad Henne, as stated in Club:

So in summation I feel placing Henne as the #25th best is a bit high, yet given those who are his peers and the overall lack of quality at the QB position in the league, 25 is ok, I guess!

clear to me, after reading this hilarious thread that:

Abby is none other than a regretful Bill Parcells, mired in sadness over not having taken Matt Ryan over Jake Long.
ToddPhins has reconfirmed his status as lonely and horny. The two together are quite a combination.
Mike Shanahan has cloned John Elway in the form of John Beck, they do share the same first name, coincidence?
Oz and MrC have joined forces to promote their belief that a bald offensive lineman is more talented than a bald quarterback. Do you think a bald Tom Brady wins a Super Bowl?
and the 23rd should get a spellchecker.

If anyone is offended by the tone of this post they should "check yoself before you wreck yoself"

On another note, I unfortunately learned nothing new about Chad Henne. Clearly this thread is his fault.
