Have any of you guys rooted your android phone? Wasn't contemplating rooting mine, but I'm not really sure if it is worth the trouble and risk.

What do you want to do with it that can't be done already?

Yes and it is worth it if you plan on running any market restricted apps that are blocked by your carrier or love having the ability to fully customize your device. My advice is to research throughly and then make your decision based on how comfortable you feel rooting the device. There is always a chance a device could be bricked and as we know would not be covered under any warranties.

If you can get it to print money and do my laundry it's worth it. Otherwise not so much with voided warranties and whatnot.

That's the thing, it's not that I have this strong desire to root my phone. I was reading around the other day and I stumbled across people talking about their rooted phones and how much they love them. I absolutely love how I can customizable my Droid is, and the option of increasing the ability sounds appealing. With that said however I started this thread because I wasn't sure if rooting would really add all that much. I was curious if there were a few experience altering apps that completely changed how you used your phone.
