It's time for the inevitable Free Agency "what if" question. Should we add Edwards to our offense? What would our offense look like with both Brandon Marshal and Braylon Edwards??

No thanks. Not nearly efficient enough for the money he will want.

yeah i see nothing in Braylon Edwards that ever impressed me. Unless we can guarantee Jason Allen is somehow covering him every game, then sign that man immediately.

We have a tough WR (Marshall) that will go across the middle, be that YAC guy, what we need is a speed guy....Edwards doesn't have the kind of speed we need...

TBH, I'd like Brad Smith as another WC piece, but Edwards..:dunno:..he and Henne were the connection at Michigan and he was one of the few Wr's Henne has been comfortable throwing the ball up for grabs to, for that kind of money though there are several fmr Henne MI Wr's to sign to see if they can click with him.

TBH though, if Greg Camarillo is released he would make more sense.

    Ducking for cover now.

I like the young core of WR's we have. If we are going to spend some big bucks this off-season, I would like to see us spend it on DeAngelo Williams, Darren Sproles, or a LB that is an upgrade over Crowder.

He had no deep speed, but he and Henne were in simpatico, so far deep speed is all fans are clamouring for.

Well that's what Edmond Gates is for. The only issue against Camarillo is Hartline. The two offer the same thing imo. Camarillo was a bit more reliable though, but Hartline has a better chance at making a bigger play. I don't know, it was a tough decision and im glad i didn't have to make it.

I'd have no problem bringing Greg C back to be the Returner and #4 Wr every Qb needs "their guy" Greg C was Henne's guy, like Nat Moore was with Marino, Henne knew Greg C would bail him out.

If we're gonna spend any more money on a skill position/playmaker........why not go after Santonio Holmes?

We get that down field threat and seriously downgrade the Jets offense all in one shot.

Braylon personifies DIVA, but damn I can't help thinking of how he and Henne clicked together before. Wish we could get Mario Manningham too.

Much rather have Santonio Holmes but Edwards is not a bad choice. He makes a rival weaker, and imo would be pretty good teamed with Marshall.

Agreed; It is a shame that he is so inconsistent. Personality and legal issues aside he and Henne could connect for some impressive TD's but his price tag would make him an expensive gamble. I was just curious to see what everyone would think of this thread. I expect to see Darrien Sproles on our roster soon.

eh, Sapp was no all star but i dont think he sucked. He was absolutely an improvement over jason allen. Being able to improve on jason allen while only losing a play of similar skillset to Hartline and Bess? it wasn't a bad move. It could have been better but i see why they did it.

Al Harris kind of made sapp useless tho.

I'm not saying he would be a terrible pickup but really I think we have other needs on the team. If we go after one of the Jest free agents I'd like to get Smith I think he could help us on ST and offense quite a bit and I don't think he'd be that expensive. Very versatile and useful player, helps move the chains.
