Stupid way to rank the drafts....makes no sense at all. you can't rank the draft on one pick ?? That doesn't mean that I don't think our drafts could have been better, but I don't see this method as being anything close to telling about any draft...

ESPN is full of ****. This is why I only watch what games on ESPN and avoid their commentary. What the **** is that? Jake Long isn't better that Peyton Hillis, Jerod Mayo, Pierre Garcon? He's better than Clady as well.

The free agent priorities should be:
RB: DeAngelo Williams, Ahmad Bradshaw, Michael Bush (in that order)...Definitely need a back to compliment Thomas. Between Brown and Williams Id bring Williams back but as my 3rd string. Brown looked done..hate to say it as he is one of my faves.
TE: Zach Miller, Owen Daniels, Bo Scaife...the first two would be pass catching upgrades over Fasano while Scaife would purely improve the depth.

To me those are clearly our top two needs out of the players available however if any of the following players actually make it to FA we should consider them because upgrading an existing position from good to great is part of ho championships are won:
WR Santonio Holmes - We need a big playmaker and while hes likely to resign with the Jets, if we could hurt a division rival and help ourselves why wouldnt we?
Tamba Hali/Lamarr Woodley/David Harris - All three likely to be resigned by their old teams but it never hurts to add another pro bowler type
Richard Marshall: Adds versatility and skill at CB as he can play outside or slot. With no one able to predict how Will Allen will come back this will either create outstanding depth at the position or simply cover our butts in case Allen is not effective

If Logan Mankins is out there, you have to at least look. You stick him next to Long and move Pouncey to Center and you have yourself a hell of a left side of the line for a few years.

Lol, ridiculous isn't it? He'd go higher than all of those guys you quoted and I'd bet money on it.

The unfortunate thing is most of those guys probably aren't available. Harris, Woodley, and Hali were all franchise tagged. Daniels was re-signed before the end of the CBA. Williams, Bradshaw, Bush, Miller and Holmes could be available as long last years rules don't apply since they were all tendered. Marshall and Scaife I believe are don't have any restrictions but I'd only seriously consider Scaife. Although I don't know that Scaife brings more to the table than Clay at this point.

When it comes to our own, if we could manage to sign MCD and sacrifice the others, I would..

    Dqwell Jackson..Reggie Bush..Logan mankins..Ahmad Bradshaw..Darren Sproiles..

I have a feeling that when this free agency starts Irish is gonna get 1 big one for our offense, and 1 for our defense..and hopefully the other will be about a special team upgrade, a top gunner, an ace..

If I could have it my way and still manage the cap, it would be Reggie Bush, MCD, Dqwell Jackson.

Matt, Daniels and Zac will be resigned..let it go man, just let it go...lol

I think we need to fill 1, maybe 2 important pieces in FA...then the rest can be role players/depth.

Most importantly, I'd like to re-sign Pigpen, Murtha, Garner, and McDaniel. The rest...I wouldn't lose sleep over. However, I wouldn't be opposed to bringing Ronnie back for a 1 year deal (especially if we can't grab a top RB in FA).

RB- I think we have 2 options: A. Let Ronnie/Ricky walk and sign a 1st tier RB (DeAngelo, Bradshaw, Bush, or Benson if avail). B. Bring back Ronnie to 1 year deal/let Ricky walk and sign a 2nd tier COP RB (Sproles, Norwood, or an UDFA-Devine, Locke, or Grigsby).

OL- Depends on who is available and what we plan on doing with Pouncey. I think we would be better off putting Pouncey at LG and Incognito at C...but it seems like we will do the opposite. Tbh, I don't see how we will be able to get any of the top interior linemen in free agency. Looks like we may just fill in some depth space with FA (which I'm not against).

WR- I've heard a lot of people/Packers fans saying James Jones will be gone, now that they brought in Randall Cobb. He would be at the top of my list for Free Agent WRs if available. If he isn't, then I wouldn't mind looking at some lower tier receivers to compete with Wallace, Moore, and Pruitt for the 5th WR job/STs job. All I know is, I want 5 WRs on this roster that are worthy of being on the field each week. Last year, we only had 3. When Hartline went down, we only had 2.

OLB- We gotta get a pass rusher. We neglected it in the draft and there are a few potential FAs that I like for this position. Gholston or Maybin could be available if they are cut and those are a couple of guys I would like to bring in and compete, because I would like to see what Mike Nolan can do with one of them. I also like Antwan Barnes and Manny Lawson. These aren't huge names that Dolphins fans would love to hear, but I think they could succeed in a Mike Nolan defense as role players.

Well we dont know yet if the tags will hold as the whole CBA is in dispute including the validity of those players tagged this offseason. I did forget about Daniels though. TE depth was a major problem for us last year though and something MUST be done to address the position. You dont bank on late round rookies to do it alone.

Jones drops a lot of passes but the home run capability is there. Still, he may command more then you want to pay for a #4 WR. Barnes and Lawson, Lawson in particular, are interesting names.

I agree about addressing the TE position. My favorite for the position personally is Marcedes Lewis if the tags don't end up applying. The reality for me is, I don't see any of these TE's changing teams save for Bo Scaife and even then I don't know how much he would add to this team.

That is one name I have had my eye on for awhile now. Profootballfocus had some interesting things on him saying he created more pressure on his limited pass rush attempts than Wake or Clay Matthews. I think he would be a huge upgrade for us and fill that veteran pass rushing role. Having the guy that drafted him here in Nolan could help our cause possibly.
