not knocking on your point of view at all DJ, i guess if you look at it from a game manager perspective he played an ok game, what GMJohnson said is also true turning these 2 TO's at the beginning of the game into 10 points is definitely a positive the touchdown pass also was his best throw of the game maybe tied with the one to fasano as well, overall if you just look at it with "dont lose the game with stupid turnovers" eyes he did the job.
i wonder if we ever play one of these late games against division rivals @ home, not that it would mean something with our home record these days, but it still would be nice to see
Idk Al, theres only a few left I suppose, but i've kind of lost my mojo on the subject..For me it was all about whether or not he deserved to be benched, compared to other 2nd year starting QB's...I really hope the question gets asked in hindsight..""did you make a mistake benching your QB last year''? I really feel like there was a lot of BS surrounding the decision..
I'm w/ you. But the longer this lockout goes on, the more worried I get that our new guys aren't going to get a fair chance to assimilate and compete for playing time.
Don't worry, you'll find your mojo, especially when there's nothing but baseball and golf to watch . The only game not worth watching is the NE game. Buffalo and Detroit were both solid performances, have a look DJ. Todd was going to do a major study on Henne, but some noodle head banned him so I guess I'll do it once basketball season is over and I'm bored outta my mind.
Not me baby, CFL kicks off June 30th, I'm so there dude. Hopefully ESPN3 still offers live streaming in HD.
I think I'm gonna go w/ Game Rewind, studying up on our opponents for next season. Maybe we can trade info .
Well, the CFL to NFL traffic this yr was slight due to the lockout, once things settle down to normal I'll have a leg up.. CFL is at it's core Football, but much more offensively minded and they have not watered down the hitting as of yet.
Look, it's as simple as this: If you're going to say games where we lost and Henne played well it's on him. You damn well better give him credit for this Jets win.
don't ya know? The anti Henne crowd believes that when we won it was in spite of him...but when we lost it was because of him.
I just seen your location MrClean Please say hello to Todd. I don't seem to be able to PM him lately.
Todd had to move to the pup tent in the far corner of Henne's backyard. The one with bars instead of mosquito netting.
I guess he said something in the Henning bash thread, that was against the TOS, in the opinion of the mods.
BTW GMJ, up in Club I looked into Anthony Armstrong and how he became what he is in DC and think you maybe are putting to much weight on "UDFa's like Marlon Moore" being a cause for the offense sputtering, they can contribute when given the opportunities to succeed, Moore did have some drops however that does happen to everyone in the league, unless you are Greg Camarillo, in a league of scarce resources a Qb has to make do sometimes.
Just because Armstrong made a splash in DC doesn't mean Moore will here, or won't. I hope he and Wallace blossom into NFL WRs, but it was apparent they were in over their heads in 2010. Maybe it was coaching, but not to worry. We have a new WR coach who has never coached the position before, so our old one can go mess up Henne now. Seriously, I hope Ike Hilliard can help these young guys, because I'm not expecting much from Bush.
Well Mr C, there is only so much that anyone can know from watching a guy practice, imho that is one of Sparano's flaws, he puts way to much weight on "how you practice is how you will play" instead of having a instinct for his guys, and when those guys do play it means there will be screwups like Wallace going out of bounds and coming back in bounds in the EZ..then dropping the pass, or Moore dropping 2 ro 3 deep passes that were on target, it happens.
I think it's the inconsistency above anything. Re-watch the games and you will see Henne make some really good throws. 2 plays later he will make a head scratcher. Not to mention he can be a statue in the pocket. In the end, Henning was more to blame for last years gaffs but Henne wasn't free of blame either. Give him another shot with Daboll and a much improved offense around him. See what happens.
Mr Clean stole my thunder, but yeah, it's not necessarily that Moore & co. were UDFAs, it was that they weren't any good. No need to look at Washington, Bess came in as a UDFA and was a decent player for us, and he's continued to produce. But he's the exception to the rule. The idea that you can pluck undrafted guys outta FA and put them on the field to produce is a very shaky one and it shouldn't be relied upon IMO.
I think the head scratching mistakes are a function of being in his second year and not having an effective running game. I should add a system that is tailored to his strengths should help. What I find interesting is when you look at Sanchez and the coaching support he gets vs Henne being thrown under the bus by Henning, you have to give credit to the kid he took it. Make no mistake that the lack of support also affected how his teammates reacted to him Marshall and Fasano where complete *******s, I saw Sanchez make mistake after mistake and nobody got on his grill and that my friends is a reflection of the coaching staff's ability to develop a team environment. Henne's ability to deal with adversity is something I respect.
