Personally, I love it when a young Qb exudes confidence, and not the PC "work hard going to " stuff over and over, while I do not buy into the huge importance being placed on our Qb situation completely, have to admit, Thiggy is telling the truth here imo. Do not know how Chad Henne could have worked well enough with Butter Edwards to make him a Top 5 pick of a Wr at Michigan and in the pros not be able to do the same with Beast, but it is what it is, Thigpen probably could make Beast a All Pro..again.
Shows some balls to say that. Definitely taking a shot at Chad Henne though, no matter how you look at it.
Agreed, which of course is one of the reasons why he may not be back, to leadership oriented, to results oriented, not interested in going along to get along..imo.
Confidence is a good thing. If he would have said that to Sparano, Dabol, or Ireland that's fine, although I would have preferred him saying he could help the team instead of just Marshall. In the media, I don't care for any player taking a shot at a team mate, it does no good. Now he may have been answering a question on what Marshall said, which would be different.
And, in the process, probably throw a dozen or so picks that directly contribute to us losing games. Can't take the good without accepting the bad. I like Thigpen, but let's not forget that the one game he started for us was probably the most embarrassing loss this franchise has seen since Jacksonville in the playoffs.
I don't know that it's necessarily a shot at Henne as much as a declaration to whomever's listening. Dude wants the coaches to know that he wants a fair shot, and he doesn't care who knows it. Obviously he feels confident he'd beat out anybody on the roster. I know one thing: Marshall likes his game more than Henne's.
I, for one, hope that Chad Henne heard that, or hears of it and that it lights a fire under him. From that interview though, does anyone else besides me get the feeling that there was a lot more wrong with Chad Henne, the coaches, and the entire offense than what we already know about? The more I keep hearing from players about the players and coaches not being on the same page, the more I keep on thinking Tony Sparano is in over his head. Thigpen, Marshall, and Henne have all said something about this now, and that's just my count, there could be more. A sliver of me thinks that Stephen Ross "extended" Sparano only because his courting of Harbaugh failed AND he got caught doing it.
I don't think it's a shot at Henne, I think the guy just wants to play. If a guy doesn't want to play, he's nothing more than a loser.
He talks alot for a guy who will not be starting for any team next year. Thigpen sucks ***, alot of you need to accept that fact.
Confidence is great, but if you want to talk trash it would be nice if you had the game to back it up Thigpen.
If you want the QB's to improve how about you feature the running backs just a little more Thigpen ran for his life..... This a light a fire under someones *** quote. Welcome it
Safe bet BM will be a little pissed when he reads this comment from Thigpen. God bless backup QB's.....
Thigpen needs to review the tape of his start vs Chicago, where he should have been awarded the John Beck award for ******** his pants under fire. He's lucky to be a back up
Tyler Thigpen didn't start last season's finale against New England. He needs a lot of work on his game but at least he's an athlete. It's interesting around here [I'm not being specific to any one person] that there are people who will insist that it's foolish to make any judgment on Chad Henne's future potential in the NFL right now but most seem to have no problem deciding that Thigpen will never be good based on an even smaller body of work. I'm not saying I'm comfortable with Tyler Thigpen under center in 2011, just pointing something out. As for the comments.. pretty awkward when he sees Henne again.
