Wow, Dallas really impressed me in this series. Going to be a long offseason in Miami, when you made the moves they did and talked the way they did in the offseason anything but a Championship is a complete failure. Lebron will be the focal point of some harsh, probably unfair criticism this offseason as well. Congrats to Dallas, this has been one of the more enjoyable NBA playoffs I can remember.

Miami needs a sixth man with heart that can score in the 4th Quarter IMHO.

Really, congrats to the Mavs, they proved they were the better team over the course of this series. The german is just insane. To all of you non-Mavs fans who have not posted in this or any other Heat related thread, who are deciding to come out of no where to talk **** when you were no where to be seen when the Heat were getting to the Finals, well, you know what you can go do to yourselves.

Yep, now the NBA gets to deal with what the NFL is dealing with, payroll growth.

Difference being in the NBA 20+ teams lost money.

I love how haters are coming out of the woodwork now and not a single one is a Mavs fan.

And why is no one mentioning which crappy team they root for? And why do they wait until now to talk ****? Maybe some people should get some brains and a pair of balls.

Great series by both teams IMO. Sucks that there had to be a losing team but great series overall IMO.

Dude, I have no horse in this race (I HATE the NBA....most boring Pro Sport next to baseball IMO), but you've got to understand the media circus around this will bring lots of people out just to see the reaction of the fans. I honestly haven't watched a single NBA game in 15 years.....I can count on one hand the amount of times I've seen a game., and even I'VE heard of the media circus and have rooted against the HEAT. From everything I've heard, you have a hell of a team. But understand what LBJ did with his "the choice" thing bent a lot of people with no stock in the game the wrong way. I honestly believe that the fans of 29 teams are rejoicing tonight. Right or wrong, the HEAT are the villains, and the NBA has pumped a ton of cash from that story line. It won't get any easier in the coming years I don't think.

In my defense I started trolling a month ago. :tongue2: I thought Dirk wouldn't be denied of a ring and if the game was close in the fourth he would get it done. In the Western Conference Championship and the Finals he only had one game where he failed to tie/win the game when the game was still up for grabs. Happy that he gets a championship and lot of respect, especially after how the 06' Finals seemed to follow him like a ghost. I have a Steve Nash Mavericks jersey so I'm allowed to post one picture.

They panicked, unfortunately. So I don't consider that quitting. They were still playing defense even after the misses and even fouled.

And the jump passes were annoying. Probably resulted in about 4-5 turnovers alone.

Yes, I live in Denver and no I don't follow or care about the Nuggets. To me the NBA is another wuss sport. You can't help but hear the James talk about Dynasty, and all the trash talking his girls did. To me the Heat is the NBA's version on the Jets.

Sorry Heat fans, but as an outsider on this, this is my opinion.

More depth, a passing big, and Pat Riley IMO. Spoelstra isn't a bad coach IMO but Riley would put them over the top, potentially several times.

Going to be a long offseason leaguewide. There's a lockout brewing.

Pat Riley isn't walking through that door. And Wade sold Bosh and LeBron on Spo. He's not going anywhere. He does need to improve though.

The cap situation in the new CBA is critical.

Wow I didnt see that coming, I was totally wrong on this series, but thats why you play the game. Good for Dirk, one of the good guys of the league, Miami's defense which was their strength just totally disappeared the last 2 games....

I would expect so much media scrunity on this team until they win a ring, it is all your are going to hear about, it will make people even more sick of them...

Yeah, I didn't mean to imply that the quick threes were quitting.

I think LeBron is mostly guilty of it but others do it too.

There have been guys in this and other threads that have been making their opinion known throughout the year, both while the Heat won and the Heat lost. To come here after they lost in the Finals and to do nothing but talk crap after not saying anything all year long, is bush league. Alen1,Adampres, etc. have been here all year, they can gloat if thats what they want to do.

Some will strongly disagree but IMO, the defense was never that great by Miami this series. I thought Mavs got a lot of good shots and missed them.

I would agree, I think Mav's offense is really the kryptonite of this Heat D. The Hear are all about quick rotations, while is great against teams that don't have great ball movement, unfortunately, teh Mavs are probably the best team in the league in kicking around the ball and making the extra pass.

Gloat about what? I have no reason to gloat. Mavericks aren't my favorite team (I don't have one, just watch the game as a basketball fan) and I don't hate the Heat. I just had some issues with some of the egotistical fans, but I guess that was somewhat expected considering the acquisitions.

He's a good coach who "works his balls off". He's not going to get SVG'd by Riley, so it's up to Spo to get better.

I'm disappointed with two things about his coaching this season: three point defense (we've been killed by miracle threes all year) and his (non-)response to the zone defense. A lot of that is personnel, but with little in the way of new results after an entire season of the same stuff, it's time to make some adjustments.

Their numbers dont lie Alen, stat wise the best in the league.....Are you saying like the style of their defense isnt good?? There are different types of defenses, this team relies on speed to fill lanes.....as opposed to having a more underneath the paint big heavy defense...

No, not the style or this season statistically. This series, specifically. I thought they were very aggressive and the extra passes by Dallas hurt them. On the flip side, for Dallas the problem was that they weren't hitting the shots despite good looks IMO.

Alen's correct, the Heat's defense wasn't there in the Finals. IMO, that was due primarily to the officiating. By the time it was Miami's turn for more home cooked fouls, the damage had been done and the team was flat.

Goes back to perimeter/three point defense like I mentioned above. Have to schematically improve on that. New depth might help but there has to be some sort of system assistance, IMO.

As ****ty as Dirk played tonight, he somehow managed to show up in the fourth quarter AGAIN. The guy is just unbelievable IMO.

And man, Wade had 17 tonight but I thought he showed super-human effort. Not just tonight but throughout the series. He was ballin.

Oh please, everyone here knows I am a Lakers fan. We endure more hate than any other team in just about any other sport. The Yankees might be the only team that trumps them when it comes to hate. Honestly I was happy to see the Heat take the mantle for a year. Lord knows LeBron and Co., didn't do themselves any favors with how they protrayed themselves.

It was a pleasure rooting against them in this Finals. And beyond that, I am a big Jason Kidd fan so I am happy to see him win. And Dirk is a stand up guy by all accounts so it is hard to not be happy for him as well.
