He's 26 years old. At this point, he just needs to grow up and learn how to concentrate when the pressure is on, or at least do it more frequently.
agreed, he needs to grow up, and figure out how to deal with pressure consistently. To the degree that he has melted down, Ive never seen an athlete completely forget what kind of skillset he has, and go into such a shell of himself.. He also needs to know when to shutup, and understand how to act as a professional on the court.. What he did in front of their bench was unacceptable, classless, reoccuring behavior, and very motivating for the other team, Dirk himself said it was disrespectful.. All the pressure goes into his hands..
To me, some of you are naming former Dolphins that you or we hated AFTER they left here, or how they left here. Not too many people hated Nick Saban until he left. Same goes for JT. As for me, I have a few current Dolphins I hate as well as ones I just never ever liked whil ethey were here. The Hated: Ricky Williams Jamar Fletcher Joey Harrington Dave Wannstedt Daunte Culpepper Jeff Ogden Ricky Williams Players I used to take for granted but now actually like and appreciate: Jay Fiedler Vernon Carey Tim Bowens Mark Dixon Tim Ruddy
hate dolphins players: thurman thomas j.b."burned" brown sammie smith john offerdahl (injury prone, overrated how many games did the guy miss like 7 on average per year?, maybe also not the hate category but for sure the dislike one hate dolphins coaches: olivadotti don shula (not really hate, but sure dislike, all the talk about how great he was, but still could not get dan marino a defense to help him win a ring) dave wannstedt cam cameron (man i hate this guy how he sucked as a head coach remember "fail forward fast" ?, and then have to see how he as an OC always kicks our *** when we play the ravens) around the nfl: every player that wears or wore a jets, bills and patriots jersey brett favre shannon sharpe
I would blame that more on Joe Robbie being a cheap-*** mofo. You can't get good players if the Owner won't write the checks.
I put it more on not being able to draft consistently well. By the time free agency got going, Joe Robbie was out of the picture and not wanting to pay free agents is the way a cheap owner is going to hurt you.
I didn't like Culpepper or Ginn. Can't say I hated them, but I didn't have anything good to say about them. Nobody mentioned that little sh!t Wes Welker.
Who, among all Phins players, coaches, or owners, (any era) tops your most hated or disliked list? #1 - Have to go with Channing Crowder. I know many will go with Saban, but, who cares what he did? I don't think he'd have been a success here. He made the right decision. But, there is no player who has had a bigger mouth relative to so little production on the field in the NFL in the past 5 yrs than Crowder. I am so tired of the lack of production and watching him get his head handed to him nearly every down - esp. by tiny scat backs - can't stand him. I can't think of many other Dolphins I've disliked. Sure, some that drove me crazy (Sammy Smith; Lorenzo Hampton; William Judson; Eric Kumerow; etc.) - but not enough to hate those guys. #2 - Joe Robbie, last 10 years of ownership. Joe Robbie the first 10 years was great and beloved. But, his lack of insisting on a solid GM for Shula hurt player personnel (while Shula was at the time and always was a great coach). Beyond that, Robbie's construction of a baseball/football stadium combo was nothing short of a long term disaster for this team. He could have built a great stadium - ideal for fans; loud and raucous; etc. but had very little forward vision. Now they have one of the worst stadiums in the NFL. And, it's old. (I know Wanny will be near the top - but I can't hate the guy. He wasn't a jerk from what I could tell. Just not very smart. Can't hate someone for that, imo. Who, among all others, opposing players or coaches, a Vick or Big Ben, someone entirely different? Used to be Unsexy Rexy, but I've come to respect the guy as a coach. Now? I'd have to say one of the players who have whined like sissies - like Vrabel or another goofball. Big Ben, is, however, right there at the top. I actually respect Vick. He's done much better than I expected and has conducted himself admirably. Hate what he did but I think he's trying to be a better citizen as best as I can tell.
