smooth move Megan... real smooth... don't worry, in about 10 years, when people want you for your brain and witty remarks, they'll just be knocking down your door.

She kind of, unsmart, Speilberg made Schindlers' List for example, because that did not happen in oh, the last 20 minutes it eludes her understanding, what a shock.

If true and that was the only reason then I feel it was an over reaction by SS. You can't expect younger people to automatically have the same level of understanding when it comes to what they see as distant historical figures. Her comments sounded like someone who related Hitler to a tyrant just like any other. SS has many other emotions related to that name. IMO a more mature response would have been to explain to Fox why he was offended. My guess is that Fox had no idea that SS was particularly sensitive about that comparison and had no intention to offend.

Then she should read a history book.

I disagree. There was some backlash. That backlash could have hurt the receipts, with how much money goes into crafting such huge steaming piles of **** like Transformers 1&2, why risk it? Plus, she openly *****ed about the movies.

Or SS and everybody else should be less sensitive. I think it's a mistake to demonize any words or names as it gives them too much power. IMO the worst thing that happened to race relations was that the "N" word became taboo. It became something that only blacks were allowed to say and was yet another thing to separate people. Hitler is another one of those things that only Jews can understand.

IMO any backlash from her one comment could have been negated with a public comment from SS. Her *****ing about the movies becomes a separate issue. I said in my original comment "if it was the only reason". If he wanted to fire her b/c he thought she was a crappy actress that's something else entirely. I had read previously (according to Labouf) that the reason she was let go was that the director wanted her to do more sexy stuff and that she didn't want to.

hitler killed more then jews. And he exterminated a race of people. If other races can't sympathize with that, then there is something wrong with those other races. SS shouldn't be so sensitive, but being ignorant isn't an excuse either.

Maybe it could have been negated, maybe not. **** canning her will definitely do it though.

He absolutely did, but that isn't what gets the press. I would guess that if SS were Asian he would have reacted different. And while ignorance isn't an excuse, it should be expected in among the young. SS should have considered the intention, but when people are over-sensitive they react as if everything is the ultimate insult.

IMO there is probably much more to it than the one comment.

So SS is in the wrong because he should have known that a young person is poorly educated? I have news for Megan, SS is not the only jew working in Hollywood.

I don't know, I'm not jewish and I have no problem with her being fired. And ignorance should be expected at what age? megan fox is 25.

She basically said he was a tyrant and then he reacted like one. And Hitler died what 65 years ago? To most anybody in their 20s he's just another tyrant. If she had called SS a Stalin it would have meant the same thing. He reportedly murdered more people yet SS probably wouldn't have reacted the same.

She said Bay was the tyrant, but yet you're saying that SS was called the tyrant and he acted like one. That doesn't make a lot of sense.

And it sure seems to me like anyone would (or should) have been fired for saying everything she did even if the word Hitler was omitted.

I'm in my 20's bro. I'm willing to bet your generalization isn't that accurate. And like you said its 65 years ago. And with the access my generation has to information on the internet, on tv, etc. I gotta say to me there is no real excuse. And I'm not saying I agree with her being fired but I understand. From what I understand its not the only problem they've had with her, she basically insulted her boss publicly and it was a pretty bad comparison for any business.

Hmm. Well, that's one movie I'll be waiting for the DVD release.

Because there's no way I'll be going to the Theatre. :shifty:

And if they put it out on IMAX, be ready for a mind-blowing experience...

I understand there were several problems between her and Bey. My guess is that Bey was lobbying for her to be gone so it was probably more than just one Hitler mention. As for the 20's thing, I have no doubt that for most young people the name Hitler doesn't have the emotional impact it does to an older person regardless of whether they read about him in a history book.

    1. I find it amusing that people in this thread have been referring to Steven Speilberg as "SS".
    2. If you talked like that about your boss, you'd be fired too. I think she'd have been fired even if she hadn't referenced Hitler. Those are some strong words to say about your boss.
    3. Looks like Transformers 3 did okay without her. I don't think many people skipped that movie based on her absence. $387 Million worldwide in its first weekend. http://www.reuters.com/article/2009/06/28/boxoffice-idUSN2833977520090628

I've never seen any of the Transformers movies. However, I would very much like for Megan Fox to sit on my face.

Hopefully not with a chair between your face and her arse. That would hurt! Oh, and leave her husband at home

If SS was asian, perhaps she would have said Mao instead. Estimates are he killed 48-70+ million. Hitler was just a fraction.

What race did Hitler exterminate, btw?
