I agree with you about being disappointed in the finale because of the lack of matches being shown since it made it hard to tell who was better since the matches seemed to be exactly the since give or take a move. As for crowd reaction of the two finalists, Luke got boo'ed and Andy got cheered during their intros. You could barely hear it because they played the music so damn loud (which maybe they did on purpose). Luke and Andy got good reactions in the ring. Look wise I think Andy looks like he could be a WWE wrestler as he has the size and the long hair (something Vinnie Mac has always loved). Luke remained me of a Randy Orton type clone and was shocked at how little muscle mass he actually had during his match with Bill. I could have sworen thathe was bigger during the show.

As for Jeremiah, yeah he had the most charsma but that's not saying much. Outside of possibly Martin, everyone else was pretty vanilla. He probably has the most upside too, but the trainers kept saying he lacked the wrestling skills. Who knows maybe the WWE might sign him to a developmental deal. And as viewers we were only allowed to see what the producers wanted us to see.

And yes Andy's speech on RAW was pretty bad, if he wanted to put Luke down he should have just said that Luke is more interested in partying than being a WWE superstar, almost as bad as him having to take a bump after the McMahon slap.

Overall I enjoyed this season of Tough Enough but still think the MTV series with Al Snow was better. Too bad they couldn't bring him back to work with Stone Cold, Trish and Bill (and I love Booker T but he didn't really add a whole lot from what we were shown).

I'm sure Jeremiah lacked some skills but they kept him around almost to the end so he obviously had something. I'm sure he can find another way in if he wants like the Miz. Andy has the look but threw me for a loop mainly because you barely knew he was on the show up until the elimination that Stone Cold made him cry in. The trainers go on and on about wanting a standout and then the winner is a guy who never really stood out, outside of getting careless one week and almost breaking Luke's neck. I saw an article from the Miami Herald mentioning Luke wanting a lifestyle similar to what so many 80s wrestlers lived. I can see how the WWE would want to steer away from that and go with a guy who stays on the straight and narrow. The size guy him an edge and that may have put him over the top. I'm not disappointed Luke lost, I think he showed his true colors when he was being shown up by Martin.

Read the results of last night's PPV, seemed like a pretty bad PPV in terms of wrestling and overall quality. But hey CM Punk finally got to win a PPV match, so that's never a bad thing.

    The Punk-Misterio match was stellar.

And Raw so far has been pretty good. Henry vs. Kane was actually entertaining (I know that seems impossible), but Henry powerslammin gKane through the announce table was super impressive. He did the same thing to Show at the PPV which was obviously more impressive. But it finally dawned on me that if they built Henry up like this years ago, he may have been a legit main event force. A dude that just DESTROYS people.

And Punk doing snow angels was amazing.

And Christian, Truth and Miz in the ring on the mic at the same time got me to guffaw.

CM Punk tweeted that he's seemingly done with the WWE on July 17th, which I believe is their next PPV. I guess it makes sense why the WWE would push him to face Cena only to have SuperCena defeat evil and get rid of him once and for all. I'm really hoping Punk is playing the internet right now and he somehow beats and wins the title from Cena especially since he's been the best thing on RAW for a long time now but yeah not happening.

It's been known for awhile that Punk's contract was up in July. ALthough I suspect that if he is publicly declaring it on WWE TV, that he has worked out some deal to stay. I can't imagine Vince allows him to just talk openly about his contract without some sort of agreement in place.

Right but Punk never commented on the situation until last night on Twitter. Part of me is hoping it's a work and that he does have an agreement in place and the big shock of the PPV will be Punk winning the title from Cena.

  9. Samphin

How great would it be to run that angle though? Punk wins the title, then "walks out" on the company. Thus forcing them to run a tournament to crown a new WWE Champion. The tournament happens, some face ends up winning (most likely Cena) at a PPV. Then, the next day on Raw at the "official" ceremony (where a new, non ugly belt is introduced), a plain clothed Punk jumps the rail and jumps the face from behind, completely destroying the paper champ and claiming himself the REAL WWE Champion (similar to the Flair claim form a long time ago).

This sets up a mega feud for obvious reasons where you can unify the two belts to crown a proper champ and hopefully give yourself and excuse to rid yourself of that belt too.

    But it will never happen.

Yeah I've read a lot of ideas like that the past few days but with different versions with the same unify end result. But is the WWE really looking to just have 1 World Champion? Hey I love the ideas though.

I agree the WWE Cena Spinner title is just crap and I really really miss the old IC title and the Eagle World Championship circa 1988-1998ish era.

  14. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

It would be to unify the RAW belt. Punk beats Cena, retires with the Cena Belt. A tournament is held to crown the NEW WWE Champ (seperate from Orton's World Championship), and the unification match ends up being between Punk/WWE Champ. So in the end, they still have two titles. I guess I should have clarified.

Although, as a side story, it would be GREAT to see the SD champ enter the tourney to try and become the undisputed champ (much like Jericho), only to come up short. but that would never happen because the WWE would see that as their other champ being weak or some BS.

As for unifying the world title overall, I am all for it. I thought their original idea of having the champs be able to jump brands was a good one. Gave them an extra perk to being champ. Made them standout. And it would have helped work as a transition to get pieces from one brand to another, without weird logic flaws, trades, etc. So Cena is the champ, he goes to Raw, defends the belt. Then goes to SD and loses the belt to say...Christian. Cena now becomes exclusive property of SD while Christian is able to brand hop as champ. Storyline wise you sell the perk as having more opportunities to make money with more shows, etc. Once Christian loses the title to Miz, then Christian stays on Raw and Miz can go on, and so forth and so forth. Should have been great, but of course WWE screwed that up too.

So how long is this Christian/Orton feud going to drag out? And is Christian ever going to get the belt back? I hope so if for no other reason than I think it's time for a heel to hold that belt on Smackdown.

Until next month's PPV and then I bet Orton moves on to a feud with either Wade Barrett or Shaemus. And I wouldn't bet on Christian getting the belt back. It's clear Vince and Co. don't view Christian as a World Champion and Orton is one of their golden boys so unless an injury happens I think Christian will just waste away in the mid-card or just end up taking jobs to the next big babyface in the company.

That makes me wonder why they've been running the Christian/Orton feud as long as they have. I've been waiting for them to bury Christian and it hasn't happened yet. I don't want them to do it but it's what I fully expect. I don't expect Christian to pick up the belt cleanly. I mean if they won't put Punk over Orton then they're not going to do it with anybody. When they flipped Christian to heel I thought it might be so Christian could cheat to win the belt and they could have a heel champion for a little bit. If they want to feud Sheamus or Barrett with Orton what are they waiting for? I still hate Orton as a face. His face personality is stale and boring but that's just my opinion.

I think Orton is boring as a face or heel outside of a few months in the beginning of 2010 I believe. I've never been an Orton fan outside of those 3 months as he looks the part but all his matches are the same and I don't think he's anything special on the mike.

As for Christian/Orton feud, May to July is usually a dead period in wrestling, much like the month of December. As the post Wrestle Mania feuds are wrapping up and the next big storyline peroid takes place in August to hype up Summer Slam so they're just stalling with the feud (much like how R-Truth is being given a run with Cena, they're just stalling until they run their Cena/Del Rio feud). They don't want to waste an Orton/Barrett or Orton/Sheamus match on a meaningless PPV and then leave Orton with no real opponent for Summer Slam. It's just how the business is done in these down months. Of course not having any real main event heels on Smackdown hurts too. Although that will change whenever Jericho returns (pushing either him or The Miz to Smackdown).

The CM Punk interview to close out RAW was epic. It's a damn shame the WWE is possibly going to lose this guy because he's by far the best most complete wrestler and entertainer in the company.

    Nice!

What made the interview so good was because absolute the truth, everything from Cena to McMahon etc. I'm actually shocked the WWE let him say that stuff and the shout out to Colt was great too. It's really a shame they couldn't have started this angle sooner. Man just a great 5 minutes there. Probably the best interview on RAW in years, the only ones that even come close to topping it is Bret Hart's return and The Rock's return.

Amazing promo. Total work, but damn if it wasn't a good one. He literally mentioned other wrestling companies, said the word "wrestler" wished McMahon dead, called HHH a doofus and propped up Heyman on top of killing the Head of Talent Relations and mentioning the Brock Lesnar abandoning the company issue. Wow. Simply brilliant work.

And since they are completely re-doing the Summer of Punk angle from ROH, years ago, I wonder if they DO let Punk win the title and walk out, much like when he won the ROH title and signed his WWE contract on top of it.

Yeah I read the spoilers for the taped RAW for 7/4 and my thoughts:

I hate how they shifted focus from CM Punk leaving the company to yet another "if John Cena loses he gets fired" angle which was last used in November/December. Seriously I feel like they killed the storyline by having that clause in it. McMahon should have said something like if you want Punk you got him but make sure you shut him up and don't let him walk out of the WWE with your title. Not even put that fired clause in.

Seth Mates, former WWE writer, tweeted that if he was in charge of the storyline he would have Cena defend the title against a random mid card wrestler like Kane (although R-Truth could get the shot since he beat Cena), CM Punk would tweet a few times during the week that he was home in Chicago and giving clues that he planned to show up at the PPV. He'd then have Sin Cara win out of the MiTB matches during the PPV. At the end of the show after Cena beat whoever Sin Cara would come out to cash in his MiTB briefcase, hit Cena with it, give him the GTS beat him, win the title and then unmask to be CM Punk. I think that angle would be freaking great.

I'd take it one step further and then have Punk come out on RAW for an interview with Vince McMahon and have McMahon say late last night he and Punk reached an agreement on a new contract because McMahon doesn't want his WWE Champion walking out on the company (he could bring up how he screwed Bret again etc), Punk would get on a mike say he's not signing a contract, he just wanted to come on RAW one last time as WWE Champion and he quits and runs out of the ring with the belt through the crowd and takes a vacation.

Unfortunately once again RAW and the WWE is turned into the John Cena show though.

  34. Samphin

Samphin Κακό σκυλί ψόφο δεν έχει

The only problem with the Sin Cara part is that A: Sin Cara is much shorter than Punk, and B: Punk's tattoos would give it away quickly. But overall, I agree, I read the spoilers and felt that they killed the story by spending too much time talking about Punk, then re-instating him, then adding that clause to it.

Personally, I would have gone with the suspension angle like they did, have McMahon come out and speak in general terms (i.e. never mention Punk by name) that the WWE is here to entertain. And they only want "superstars" that want to be here. Given the rogue actions of some superstars, it has become clear to McMahon that the ship is no longer as tight as it once was and a new, permanent GM will be named to help retain order. Enter HHH's music, loud pop, etc. HHH talks about being the best ever, not letting people run roughshod over him and then ends with a not so subtle threat to CM Punk where he says something to the effect of "This doofus son in law prays that you show up in Chicago."

Throughout the night perhaps you have Punk tweeting @ members of nexus. It owuld be cool to see him write a couple of lines to Otunga and then Otunga says them over the air. Says he has a message from their leader, etc. Only to have HHH punish them for being associated with Punk. He makes them defend (and lose) their tag titles to some face team. Batista-Lite gets buried by Kane/Show/whoever, and al lthe while Punk is on the internet, knowing exactly what is going on and responding in tow.

The week after, You have the members of Cena demanding to know what is going on with his match at MitB. HHH comes down, they jaw back and forth about respect and ultimately HHH tries to set up a three way dance for a new #1 contender. Before he does that though, he notices that the crowd is distracted and someone is walking through the crowd holding a ticket.

It is CM Punk, looking smug and in street clothes, he sits in the front row, across from the hard camera side...with multiple signs that he holds up to get on camera. Cena demands he be reinstated, HHH balks at it, and instead tells Punk that he has a front row street to watch Cena destroy his own creation, one piece at a time. HHH books Cena vs. Otunga for later tonight in a NO DQ match.

During the match, Cena is dominating Otunga as well as the rest of Nexus as they run in. The action spills to the floor where Cena is right in front of Punk. He swings at Punk who avoids and hits Cena with his sign, knocking Cena out. He pulls off the posterboard to reveal a metal sign underneath and then jumps the rail to join in on the beatdown along with Nexus.

HHH runs out to make the save and gets his butt handed to him as well, leading to HHH reinstating Punk for this Sunday's PPV with Nexus barred from ringside and HHH as the special guest ref to ensure no funny business. Then, at the PPV, you have Punk win CLEAN. HHH hate shaving to make the 3 count but does. Punk is the champ and is gloating like no other in the ring.

From there, you either have the MitB winner come out and beat Punk, or you run with Punk leaving the company as champion and run a storyline where Cena is hated in the locker room for losing the title out of the WWE, which could lead to a heel turn of some sorts.

Obviously Sin Cara would have to wear a long sleeve shirt attire for the event (maybe have him dressed up as a superhero kind of like Mysterio does every once and awhile for big PPVs) so when Punk comes out dress as him the tattoos wouldn't be a give away. As for the height I don't think people would notice right away.

So, given what has occurred on the overseas tour...it looks like CM Punk is legit gone when the contract runs out. At least for a little while. A statement the WWE released to GLAAD about the above incident sort of leads one to believe that they WILL be bringing him back at some point, but just not immediately. Punk also got on the stick at one of the overseas shows and put John Cena over big time for being a great worker, and Cena praised Punk calling him the best on the roster, before shaking hands in the ring.

Punk also took all of the face's finisher at the end of a house show overseas, which is usually a way to send a heel out when he is leaving for real. At this point, I would be verysurprised to see Punk on WWE television beyond the PPV. Outside of highlights and mentions by wrestlers, of course. Punk seems to be leaving on good terms despite the amazing promo from a few weeks back.

According to his band's website he's touring with his band at least through July 17th, which happens to be CM Punk's 'last' day in the WWE. Interesting.
