Was always a huge Clichy fan and thought he had finally begun to find his form again late last season. Tough losses if they end up happening. YOU SHUT YOUR GD MOUTH!!!
Yup, his methodology is frustrating to say the least. And I'm not a huge jozy fan but I have to say, I think the US missed his speed. I think it would have gone a long way to keeping mexico off balance.
Without going into the whole social, cultural and political factors involved, the SFA, WFA and IFA dont want any part because it may set a precedence for an all British team. They believe that FIFA/UEFA could turn around and say if you willing to play together in the Olympics, then why not all the time? Thus revoking their licenses as member nations and makeing their players play under a Great British team. Take into account that these Football Association's are all independent to the English FA and have no interest in becoming united. England being the creators of GB and the major nation have no problem forming a team because its only going to give them a bigger pool to pick from and further highlights they are the dominant nation. Also take into account, that when you go to Scotland for instance, they dont say they are British.
I wouldn't be too bothered about Clichy TBH. Decent player, but certainly not a world beater. Nasri would be a huge blow. If Arsenal want to remain a threat in England, they simply have to hold onto players like Nasri and certainly not sell them to their rivals. Personally, I would sell Fabregas before I'd sell Nasri.
Yeah but I like Clichy enough to keep him on the squad. That's why I said I left off Fabs intentionally. I don't want to lose Nasri.
Gervinho is gonna be a huge pick up for you guys. Cesc not going to Barca (so they say) hopefully opens the door for Milan to get him, even though Milan top brass said he wasn't on our radar, even though he was before all of these damned Barca rumors. Nasri is a quality young player and would be tough to replace.
Generally speaking, some of the rumoured prices that are being linked to some players is absolutely mind blowing. Money is being (supposedly) thrown around like crazy.
Can't believe I just watched women's soccer... Fra beat Eng on penalty kicks... What Eng losing on penalty kicks? you don't say... France was definitely the better team though, they deserved it.
I think it's been more exciting than the 2010 men's world cup. I hate watching players like Cristiano Ronaldo pretend to be in agony then hop up and run to the ball, doesn't happen as much. First time I watched Soccer was 1999 wwc so I'll still support USA even without mia hamm.
Good red card on the US, no problem. The yellow on Solo was crap, the assistant should have let that go. The referee, even though it's not her call, should have said no.
The refs suck balls and are doing a pretty good job keeping brasil in this one. On another note women's soccer has a ways to go lol
Brazils second goal was offside. The AR can't, but did miss it. She was off by a yard. The nit picking with the white line is bs. Give or take a inch or two.....really? Yellow card on the US player was right. She was fouled, that's why the US got the free kick, but she tackled the Brazil player....gotta give it. The US has been pretty lucky with the red cards. The PK against Swedon could have been a red, Loydds handball could have been a second yellow.
The last yellow card was bull****. The offsides pisses me off because they had just finished ticky tacking the us. The ref is way more involved in this then she should be.
FIFA needs to address the gamesmanship. That's not the officials job. Officials are not doctors and can't assume. This is why FIFA needs to address this issue.
No it wasn't it was a good tackle. She went over the ball. And why can't you complain about it? If you're going to call something that close then you better make sure you call it both ways. In other words don't miss any.
Amazing to watch that win, and penalty kicks....what a pretty stop by Solo. USA 5 for 5 on its tries. woot, great win over brazil for USA Women.
I wonder if they should start giving red cards for that? When a player jumps up like that after pretending to be hurt is so frustrating. Cristiano Ronaldo is a pro at it. It hurts the game. My dad doesn't even like soccer and he watched this USA-Brazil game, and complained about that. FIFA needs to do something to fix it, but corrupt Sepp Blatter won't. And of course fix the refs. They're lucky USA got it back, barely.
That's why she got the yellow, she went over the ball, plus it was after the play. AR's can't miss offsides that are by a yard, ticky tak ones, sometimes you catch them and sometimes you don't. You'll never ever get them right 100% of the time, it's just not going to happen. The game is so fast, even the womens game at this stage. Looks very easy watching on tv, but doing it live......
They just showed a replay of Brazils 2nd goal and mentioned that the US defender may have kept her onside. It's closer than what we first thought.
Can't give a red, but they can make a change in the rules. In today's game, it actually helped the US. Gave them the time to catch thier breath plus the extra time that the referee gave allowed the US to score that late. If the referee was in favor of Brazil, she wouldn't have allowed the extra time.
I hate sports replays since they don't have the same effect, but glad ESPN is showing the end of the 1999 Final against China, want to see that Chastain goal again. 12 years to the day apparently. Now why didn't Krieger pull off her jersey? Maybe if it was the final. Still can't believe how that played out, and you're right all because she faked injury so US got extra time. (By the way, the blonde who faked injury is Gisele style hot). That was Hollywood script style win, on the anniversary of 1999 and all that happened down one player, etc.
