The Bills in most experts minds are ahead of the Dolphins, and I predict will finish ahead of our team. Why don't I believe in our "young talent", because of the way they ended the year. They lost 7 of 8 at home, they lost the last 3 to 3 of the worst teams in the NFL and then went up to NE and barely went through the motions. Our "young talent" on offense doesn't believe in their QB and I don't think they buy into the HC's philosophy either. Then you add a new offense being installed, without any prep season of OTA's and mini-camps its looking like it could spell a disaster of epic proportions. If they somehow don't get the run game going, we are sunk.

The Bills meanwhile have not had to learn a new offense. They have some real explosive offensive talent, and can put up points. Its only those that don't look at reality that have a hard time grasping that Miami is in the sh*thole this year, especially because of the lockout. That killed what small chance the Dolphins had.

FA will not be the panacea that many people here are expecting. That is not going to save this train-wreck of a season that is going to happen.

I will take this bet. If the Bills finish with more wins I will donate $100 to this site, if the Dolphins finish with more wins, you must donate $100. Please let me know if you accept this bet or not.

    1. Who are the "most experts" who you refer to? Funny, I cannot locate them.

    2. You don't know that. Just more of your typical negative speculation.

    3. This Bills team on the rise you speak of, finished 28th in offense and defense both last season for points scored and allowed. They need to greatly improve on both sides of the ball to rise much. The Dolphins don't need great improvement on both sides of the ball.

Thing is, the Bills have better talent acquisition mechanisms now, when you pick top 15 in the draft yr after yr, even stumble bum GM's can acquire talent.

Hardy may have busted, Johnson a UDFA did not.

Still think we finally take 2 from them this yr, also think they have loads of physical talent on D and Wanny in the fold so no really bold predictions.

They also ended our playoff pushes 2 yrs in a row.

Not them per se, how about Troup and Carrington? Or Marcus Easley and Leodis McKelvin?

They have so many chances to pick at the top of each rd that they will get lucky, it is just a matter of time.

I'm just saying, you can tee one up perfectly for Buffalo and they'll still swing and miss probably more often than not.

They aren't turning into the Colts anytime soon.

What really bothers me about them is:

1-they get that they have to do something different from the rest of the AFCE, they will play 3 or 4 wides and just sling the ball around
2-they added Wanny who is a dolt of a HC but a solid DC
3-those athletes, and they probably will add Thiggy once FA starts.

They also do not mind their Qb being hit whilst their LT learns how to play in the NFL./

The fact that they still can't realize that you don't win games without an OL trumps anything else for me.

    I love it.

lol That sounds better. She's got too many angles right now. Namely the diagonal eyelashes and the giant hoops on the sides of her head.

Every season Tony Sparano has been a head coach or called plays in the NFL, those teams have thrown the ball more than they have run the ball, and outside of 2008 they've passed more frequently or virtually the same percentage of time as their opponents. The idea that Sparano wants to run the ball more than pass the ball is entirely without merit, as it's never happened when he's been in charge of an offense.

Once again, you've decided on a style of football that you like, facts be damned.

Well **** they'd better start pretending like they have a quarterback of those kind of merits and then success will likely follow!

He has metal rods in his leg. It will never be "100%". However, in this interview he was saying the last 5% was mental.

I'm worried about him. I'm very skeptical that he will have a long and prosperous career.

Well, to me, the man is under 25, in ecellent physical health, and serious about his rehab.

That said this is a huge season for Odie, one where if Sparano and Co are smart they break him in slowly, maybe as a rotational player as it seems to me if a player is going to reinjure something it normally happens quickly, this is one of the reasons why the lockout does not have me very upset as these athletes rush back well before a "normal" person could have healed.

This is a lesson Tiger Woods learned the hard way, good to see he has realized that it just takes time to heal properly.

I certainly hope I am wrong. However, a 300lb guy with a surgically repaired leg, who plays in the NFL, who couldn't play more than one full game in the NFL before he reinjured the same surgically repaired leg doesn't sound very promising.

As talented as he is, he has had more than one leg surgery as you said and he was frequently injured in college.

Come on, we could crash the forum posting names of "300 pd plus guy(s) with surgically repaired legs" who play in the NFL and play at a high level for a long time.

In 2007, he dislocated his right ankle in the eighth game of the season against Indiana. This injury required surgery. It also ended his 2007 campaign. He came back in '08 earning 1st Team All-Big 10 honors.

And the fibula fracture early in the season against Buffalo was of his right leg. This did not require surgery. He was even practicing (albeit, on a limited basis) on that leg when he injured his foot.

The surgically repaired foot was his left.

He also had two broken bones in his left hand in '07, coincidentally, in the game prior to his ankle dislocation.

Someone commented earlier that they're surprised it has taken this long (the poster said "leg", but in this case, it's his foot). Depending on the type of fracture he had, I am not surprised it has taken this long. In recent years, the Lisfranc fracture/dislocation has become a household name in NFL circles. Coming back from that injury to play football takes about a year. I am not saying this is what Odrick suffered. Just saying feet are fickle. There are 26 bones in those puppies!

But remember, his 100% and the general population's 100% are different. He's a world-class athlete who puts a heckuva lot more stress on his joints and bones than most. For example, his 70% might be our 100%.

His lower extremity injuries are concerning. His speed off of the line could be affected. I would be concerned in his effectiveness late in games, AND late in the season. Arthritis is almost inevitable.

Not writing him off, and many players play through pain, but this is something to note.
