Carlos - over 5 hrs but an excellent examination of the life of Carlos the Jackal
MacGruber - went into thinking it would be stupid but was one of the funnier movies you will see

Yeah, Macgruber isn't a movie you wanna go into with high expectations for, but you end up enjoying in the end as a result.

    Especially when you cons—

the lovely bones - wow. what an interesting take on the tired genre of serial killer movies. This is not a slasher movie, this is a thought provoking, unique, creative exploration of murder, pain, death, the afterlife, meaning. it does get overly sentimental at times and there are periods when it drags but fantastic effort overall and stanley tucci as always is great as the serial killer pedophile. not a movie you see with friends. too sentimental and depressing at times but a good movie if you've got time and are looking for something different and thought provoking

yeah. it got some bad reviews, but i thought it was pretty decent. its a depressing movie though. i mean, the idea of what a murdered girl has to go through is pretty bad

Watched Kick-***. very much enjoyed that movie. Like a teenager Tarantino flick. The first time the little girl starts slashing and killing was not expected and was fantastic.

Finally saw "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans". Absolutely worth it! Nic Cage's best film since "Raising Arizona." Dark Comedy is hard to pull off, but this one was well done.

Just watched "The King of Kong". An obscure 2007 documentary on the battle to become the world champ at Donkey Kong. Such a good film, highly recommend it...

The King of Kong is an obscure documentary? I recall it being a very well regarded film, and thought I saw it on some "best of 2007" lists.

    Limitless.

Hollywood's ability to take a brilliant, near-foolproof concept and turn it into something formulaic and banal, that grinds down your senses until you want to weep is nothing short of astounding. Like, seven-wonders-of-the-world astounding.

    Limitless is exhibit "A".

Deathly Hallows Part 2 was amazing, should get an Oscar nomination for Best Picture, effects, Alan Rickman. The shortest in the series though at a little over 2 hours. Also moves by very quickly, seemed like they cut a lot out during the battle. Must have saved a lot for the "Super Deluxe Extended Unrated Director's Cut" (or whatever they'll call it..it'll be worth it for this series though, not like some where they add like 3 minutes of extra footage and pretend it's a whole new film.) By the way, it looks like it is going to break The Dark Knight's weekend record. DH Part 2 made 92 million dollars in the USA on Friday alone. The Dark Knight made 158 or something in it's first weekend.

And speaking of Dark Knight, the Dark Knight Rises trailer was Pretty good. Was hoping there would be a glimpse of Catwoman, but they're doing the slow build. Bane is only shown for a second, just his face it looked like.

Anyone wanna take a guess as to this old movie classic?

Seen Captain America and to my surprise... it's probably the best superhero movie out this summer (out of Thor, X-Men First Class, and Green Lantern).

I saw Captain America and really liked it. I wouldn't put it above X-Men First Class, but it was better than Thor or Green Lantern. I also thought the teaser at the end for the Avengers was great.

Saw Capt. America today. I have to say as an avid fan of comic books in my earilier day I don't think any movie I have seen has so closely related its story to the cannonical story I grew up reading. Excellent. Much better than most superhero movies I have seen. Topped only by TDK, the Tim Burton Batman and maybe Ironman in overall story, but first in canon.

Just some movies I have enjoyed that you probably haven't heard of, but they are available on netflix:
    Adventures of Power:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0960721/

Ok I enjoyed this one. Odd thing is I couldn't really tell if it was because it was really bad or really good. Either way turn off your mind, watch it, and decide for yourself.

    The winning season:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1293842/

This is yes a story about a girl's basketball team. It is however, a very good movie IMO. Unlike many sports movies today, it is very subtle and not to campy. I really enjoyed it, and the humor is never too over the top. A really big surprise for me.
