Demo has been out since yesterday, not sure if anyone else has played it. It's worth downloading as you can easily get some Nike Pro Combat uniforms if you do and then send a message about the demo to a friend.
XBOX League If anyone is interested I will be starting a dynasty for NCAA Football 12. Please shoot me a PM with your xbox live Gamer tag. This is a very fun league we do every year. Its a discussion on how we start off but it looks like we will all start off as a Offensive or Defensive Coordinator Signed up so far - Skeet84 Griddles Stitches Big E R&R Express Also players who are not on the board (Number of ppl expected not on board 4)
Man did I get my *** kicked by Texas in the demo. On All-American to boot, which was super, super easy in NCAA 11... 3 picks in a row, then tried a Speed Option on 3rd down which I was beast at in NCAA 11 and got rocked one way, then back another way for a 6 yard loss before I turned my 360 off...
I was sorely disappointed by this game. How can it be 2011, with GORGEOUS games falling out of the sky, and EA puts a game out like this? The players look good (good, not great), but nearly everything else looks ****ty as. The grass looks TERRIBLE, they made 3D grass in this version which is sometimes there, sometimes not. The fans ate atrocious as always, animations are still flakey (lots of snapping into position, etc.). I haven't bought an EA football game in 2 years, I was planning on getting NCAA and Madden 11, but this really ha me thinking I'll pass. It's only a demo, but it felt downright hollow. EA needs to do away with the motion capped tackles and start using actual physics before they truly develop a great football game. I'm sure NaturalMotion wouldn't mind selling rights to use their Euphora engine to EA...
Who cares? I am buying the game because of the online dynasty, offline dynasty, and road to glory mode improvements. I am happy with how they invested their time in improving the game.
And those additions are great. But that still doesn't explain why years deep into the next gen in a series that is released annually the graphics look so bad. I'm on a graphics whore, but the lack of polish is stunning. There are glaring problems in this game (the 3D grass literally flickers on and off!) that quite honestly shouldnt' be there. I understand their reluctance to do a full rebuild using Euphoria or a comprable engine, but this amount of glitchyness is just silly IMO.
It is, you know, a demo. It's not the final build, although I'm sure it won't be as polished as NBA 2k11 or the Show's. Still some of the things we're seeing now, likely won't be there in the final game, just as was the case with last year's demo.
Agreed. It seems like every year the NCAA demos are very sub-par (at least to me) and the game turns out being a lot of fun. Like GIK said, game modes like the Online Dynasty add a lot to the quality of the final product but I think the actual game play ends up being much better. It's the nature of demos I suppose.
of all the demos i've played, which is a lot...the ncaa and madden demos are always WAY different as far as gameplay goes.
Simple answer. Exclusive Rights. If 2K was making NCAA and NFL games, EA wouldn't be completely ****ing us every year with Madden and to a much lesser extent, NCAA. Only thing I really hate about NCAA, really any football game, is the motion capped tackles. Maybe I'm just spoiled having been playing Backbreaker Vengeance all week, but I see no reason why EA shouldn't pay these guys whatever it takes to use their engine.
I sure hope you were referencing its demo because that's the most ridiculous excuse for a basketball game I've ever played.
Isn't NBA 2k11 the one with Jordan on the cover? If so, it's the best basketball game I've ever played, and the presentation of it was 2nd to none as well.
Yes thats the one with mj and its an amazing game. It is the only game i really play (occasionally ill throw in fifa, mlb 2k, or ncaa 10(i think? The one with crabtree)). I dont both with madden, i get so upset playing it yet every year i buy it hoping itll be different cuz i use to love the ps2 versions. I really like ncaa but am not a huge college football fan so cant really muster up the $ to buy it every year.
If by amazing you mean: Being able to hop step through bodies. After hopstepping through someone, pumpfake standing underneath the basket until the CPU or player jumps, then jump into him for a foul every single time, again, standing underneath the basket. Being able to take charges anywhere near the paint, and have people cutting run you over without the ball in their hands, drawing a foul, every single time. Being able to initiate a stupid animation on people bringing the ball up the floor, and jam the B button until they throw you off them, resulting in a charge. Taking a perfectly legal charge on someone driving to the lane, just to have it called as a blocking foul every single times because charges can only be initiated by lame animations and taking a charge for no less than 5 seconds. About to complete a dunk just to have you magically move the ball away from the basket and over your head so you can have it blocked by a lame animation. The worst servers in gaming 3 years running. Uncapped 7'9" Derrick Rose, Deron Williams, and any other player in every single Crew game. 8'5", 10', and even 25' players in every few Crew games. If these tall *** ****s dunk the ball, the game freezes, and nobody gets a win or loss. Being able to lag out Crew games, and get a win for it. Make a 5 foot pass and have it fly into the nosebleeds, or cause the recipient of the pass to bobble it behind him for 5 seconds before the other team steps behind him and takes it away. CPU with Ed Reed-esque instincts when passing the ball, mostly when they're completely turned away from the ball. I could go on and on, but why bother. Easily the most glitched, unrealistic basketball game ever created. 2K sports won't get another dime from me until they quit raping their customers with that waste of a server they've been using since 2K9. Seriously, you're telling me they can't use a server that doesn't require you to change your time zone to Tokyo or Guam just to be able to get into a Crew game...
NCAA 12 comes with a $20 credit on amazon now. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846
Here's the developer's blog on the coaching carousel feature since someone offline asked me to post it: http://www.ea.com/ncaa-football/blog/coach-carousel And then a general dynasty overview: http://www.ea.com/ncaa-football/blog/dynasty-overview
You mean the features that just make recruiting easier? Maybe they should just allow you to add an additional pipeline state before each season... because you know, all teams in the NCAA just have that magic option.
Dang! Just saw you posted this. I just put it in the deals thread. I ordered it from Amazon. Not sure about it from the demo, but y'all say the demo's are misleading, and I need to update my football games for this year anyway. So.....PS3 here I come.
Amazon is the best. Got NCAA 12 for 40 bucks thanks to a previous pre-order, got another 20 bucks off my next purchase, and you get same day shipping for free while other places like gamespot try to charge you like 15 dollars.
Just read that Madden didn't update the online franchise at all...kinda re-thinking my purchase. I was hoping to update all football games this year...that would tick me off though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I was expecting it, to be honest. I'll reserve judgment until I see how offline franchise and Superstar mode turn out.
Sounds like the "worst" part about the new dynasty with coaching carousel is that even as a coordinator you can still manage your team's recruiting. Of course you could just turn on auto-recruiting and not touch it while a coordinator, but if you're in a dynasty with multiple coaches you'd have to trust that everyone would let the cpu do it.
I thought that was the big reason why they didn't touch it last year? Can you import draft classes to a different madden year? Just bought a 60D, and am feeling really poor... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am gonna be purchasing a Sennheiser wireless lav and probably a glidetrack within the next week or so... I'll be feeling your pain. I am in Des Moines until Thursday night doing freelance work so I can't even play NCAA 12 until then. Does anyone know if Gamestop pre-orders carrry over to other stores? I'd love to pick up the game in Des Moines (even though I pre-ordered it at a Cedar Falls Gamestop) so I can play it when I get home late Thursday...
They are store specific and don't carry over. My first complaint about the game: Terrelle Pryor shouldn't be on the buckeyes. FUUUUUuuuu Pryor! Not that I should've won anyway.
Best football game ever. Even better than ESPN 2K5. I've already managed to have the most epic game in any game ever. Down 21-13 in my online dynasty with 2 minutes to go. I have Rutgers (we all picked Big East teams), and I'm against UNC. Throw a bomb to one of my WR's. Catches it. Few plays later I get my TD with a minute to go. 2 point conversion to tie the game, miss. I have no timeouts, I have to kick an onside kick. I don't think I've recovered an onside kick in any football game ever. Well, perfect time for that to change. Kick it, bounces off the ground, and off the opponents facemask, gives a great bounce towards me, I get it. Throw a bomb to the same WR as last drive, connects. I'm on the 20. I make it to the 10 and run most of the clock off before attempting about a 17 yard FG. Seems easy enough but FG's are my achilles heel in this game. I've already missed 2 PATs as I think the configuration with my right stick is a bit off. Would have no problem here though as I kick the FG to give me a 1 point lead. I kick the ball off with 2 seconds left in the game, the guy breaks a couple tackles, and has 1 person to beat, my kicker. My kicker pulls a Matt Bosher, we win. Epic game.
