how did nobody notice a body in the pool for 2 DAYS?!! seriously? if the water is that terribly dirty I wouldn't be getting in that pool to begin with. I would actually give the "on a break" person more leniency than the other ones. A break is a break, I know that's cruel but if you're on a break as a lifeguard there is someone else who has taken the responsibility from you to watch over that pool. Granted, strictly as a good Samaritan issue I would think the 'on a break' person should have followed up on it with another lifeguard, but the one who was up in the chair trying to hit on some girl/guy instead of watching the pool should be hugely at fault on this. And if your pool is too cloudy to see whats at the bottom you should be vacuuming/checking it out to make sure there's nothing down there anyway, let alone a freakin body.
Kinda different situation. I am a loan officer at a bank, if I am at wendys eating on my unpaid lunch, and a client recognizes me and wants me to open them a car loan. Id say no.........
Its just ****ed up all the way around. Someone will be sued, thats for sure. And someone lost their life. Its just ****ed up.
Certainly not, robbery is a crime. But an officer on lunch is not off duty. They are still sworn by law to uphold the laws and defend the people when in uniform. I'm not sure the same legal terms apply to pool lifeguards.
