Yeah I think he does well.

    Depends on your scheme IMO.

Yeah but the truth hurts. He said Greg Jones couldn't line up right. He was suppose to be a 30 technique and he'd often line up 10.

I would tend to think that the Dolphins scheme would be flexible enough. They keep trying to develop 5-techniques into strongside guys. Roth wasn't awful all things considered, I'd tend to think they would be prepared for someone who you're barely treating like a linebacker.

Also, as an aside... If they're interested in Ray Edwards, do you think they'd be interested in Charles Johnson?

Johnson has less history as a quality player, but he also hit a higher upside, and did so without Kevin Williams and Jared Allen.

Physically he's shorter, but his combine measurements aren't too different from Edwards, and well within the confines of what is reasonable for the position.

I was genuinely asking if Kampman had an experience like alen was describing. He went from DPoY candidate to afterthought in GB. I also noticed though, that he wasn't the most spectacular player in Jacksonville either. With Alualu playing so well, I'd expect him to have more of an impact. I wonder if he has a nagging injury or something.

I don't know much about Johnson and haven't watched anything Panthers, but man those numbers he put up last year are enticing.

I really liked reading that post, but I remembered Jared Allen is on the other side of him, not Koa Misi. I'd be really intrigued if they brought in Edwards, but I wonder if he can hold up that type of pass-rush without Jared Allen opposite him. Now if it's still Cam Wake opposite him, then we're really onto something I think.

I like Johnson more as a player but I think he'll definitely cost considerably more than Edwards.

I doubt he gets out of CAR either way though.

Not long winded at all..... Thanks for the response.
    Good point on making calls.
You know I love to load up on LB's. You can never have enough talent in that group. Are we not high on IAF now?

LaCanfora is wrong about a lot of things and I think he's wrong about this.

Yeah, because the world hinges on Ricky Williams performance in 2009 being recounted with 100% accuracy.

Another thread about the defense turned backwards into an offense issue.
If we are going there I'll say it still that Ricky should have been spelled a little more with Hilliard in'09. Cobbs is an afterthought.

Going back the Dolphin nation would lose their collective minds if we don't keep Wake.
The idea of dealing him escapes me.

I'd debate how serious that really was. Wasn't too serious, definitely not career or even season threatening. Peyton himself was quoted as saying that second left knee surgery was a non issue. Now on the other hand, Pete (Stitches) and I each royally screwed up our knees last month. Stitches already had his surgery last week, and mine is soon. When I think of "really bad knee injury" I think of the Willis McGahee's of the world. Multiple torn ligaments. Not Peyton's knee issue.

I don't really believe anything at this point, but I think it's quite reasonable. The owner has given them money to spend, they've got their job to save, and Edwards is one of the handful of blue chip players at a position they could need and justify.
