saw it last night. was blown away. it was 10x better seeing it with my 8 year old daughter. I may go see it again with my wife if I can find a babysitter.
I saw it yesterday and thought it was brilliant. There were a few things I would have preferred handled differently but they were minor compared to how much they got right. It's incredible to me how well they have done with all the movies. While there were some I liked better than others, there wasn't a stinker in the bunch and several, including the last one were excellent.
I disagree. The Half Blood Prince was god awful. Instead of making the movie mostly about their growing romances they should of concentrated more on Voldemort past. I should mention though that book 6 is by far my favorite book and it pretty much had no chance to begin with unless it was dead on perfect.
I wouldn't say "god awful" about any of them. With the coming Voldemort emphasis in the ending chapters, I thought it made sense to continue developing the relationships of the three main characters. And I thought they did great job of it.
Its the only one I dislike. All the other ones I feel like they got to the point even if they cut things out(they have to if they want to fit it into 2 an a half hours).
The one I liked the least was probably number 7, but it was probably mostly b/c I didn't love that section of the book.
agreed. I enjoyed 7a, but it was the only one that didn't thrill me. Next step, 4 weeks until I'm at Universal in Florida with my daughter checking our Hogwarts. can't wait.
I did that last week with my son. The Castle was cool looking but I was disappointed that there was no dining hall or moving staircases. The only eatery was the Three Broomsticks. The chicken there was a bit dry so I would go with one of the other meals. I also found the frozen butter beer to be a bit to sweet although I was surprised that I liked the pumpkin juice. I also thought it was cool how all the employees in the sweet shop were English (or at least had the accent and look down). I would also recommend the fast pass. That saved us a great deal of time.
First off... Some of the responses in this thread are brilliant. The terrorist lines, the Carl Weathers picture, so much downright funny stuff. Secondly, I finished reading Sorceror's Stone over the weekend, on to Chamber of Secrets, which I should finish by this weekend. Even with the first book, it's good. It is a little childish, but everyone (including in here) has said that Prisoner of Azkaban and on it gets really good. I'm almost a little envious of the fact I didn't read the books all the way through like some friends. However, at the same time, it's nice to know from seeing the movies, where I'm at, what's different, things to remember etc. I mean I didn't even know the kid who blows himself up all the time name was Seamus.
Also, I won't lie, the developing romance, as queer as this is, really made it a little. It was absolutely a growing of age series. I'm only 26, and I definitely don't feel like "part of my childhood is lost" as I've read a ton of lately, but it makes me remember all of the same thoughts in much different matter. What's right, what's wrong, friendship, love, etc. It's pretty damned cool.
I wish there was an ashamed emoticon, aseop...because I'd use it. That or a "keep my mouth shut and why the **** would I ever say something like that, I'm a man damnit...Adam Carolla & Jimmy Kimmel would be so upset" emoticon
I'm not too worried about the dining hall. Since I have two daughters, I'm stuck paying an arm and a leg to have lunch in Cinderella's castle at Magic Kingdom with the princesses.
That and the fast pass really helped throughout the rest of the park. My son loves the roller coasters and it seemed that we were avoiding 50% or more of the line on most of those.
Simona Halep. see link below. she's had reduction surgery, down to a measly C-cup http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.tennisgrandstand.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/simona-halep.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.tennisgrandstand.com/archives/8101&h=393&w=545&sz=48&tbnid=e5Nh9PXvWZy3FM:&tbnh=90&tbnw=125&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dsimona%2Bhalep%26tbm%3Disch%26tbo%3Du&zoom=1&q=simona+halep&usg=__fqeVZcLt8P01ox73lwW1rQJC06U=&sa=X&ei=m6QlTvTXOYfAgQeT1cnvBQ&ved=0CCQQ9QEwAQ&dur=714
Dude...I have no kids and I stlll do that. But here's a bit of advice, eat at Castle Arkeshus in the Norway Pavillion at EPCOT. Princess dinner. Young hot babes dressed as Pocahontas, Jasmine from Aladdin, and Ariel from the Little Mermaid walking around. Nice.
I didn't mind all the romance stuff because they are getting older and will start creating relationships. The main problem I had with the 6th one is that they tried to put in too much comedy. I mean, they're nearing the end and learning about Voldemort's past, I'd rather have it less whimsical. Also, I was hoping that they would show each memory and not leave out about 2 or 3 of them. They're all very important imo.
