Then our entire approach to the offseason needs to change. I think you have to go out and try to steal Steve Smith from CAR, take a really good look at Malcolm Floyd, or attempt to overpay Zach Miller or Bradshaw. If we roll into the season with DT and Reggie Bush and our only other receiving addition is some scrub WR, then we deserve to get rolled in this division.
I don't even want to think what the Jets defense could bring with those two as their corners, dead god.
If they sign Nnamdi they won't have an offense because they won't be able to sign Holmes or any other WR. So let them be cap irresponsible.
Nope. I think they can get Holmes back and still get Nnamdi. Nnamdi already said he'd take less money for a contender.
And Sanchez has said he's willing to restructure his contract to free up cap space. Revis might also. It may not be quite as impossible as people think.
Child please. And I'd rather bump uglies with my wife out of love than with Charlieze Theron out of lust.
And the mass panic begins less than 24hours after the settlement. The Phins should forfeit 2x a year to the Jets if this happens.
lol You call that a mass panic? I'd call it common sense when evaluating the competition in your division.
So Nnamdi would take less money to let Holmes pretty much get a max contract, hhhmmm mighty nice of him, especially since I don't think Holmes would return favor.
Once again......Screw the Jets. This is a Dolphins forum. I don't care what they do. If what they do affects us in a manner where we have to go get another big receiver, I have lost faith. They had a few lucky breaks last year. They were not much better. I refuse to fear my opponent in any game.
It's nothing to do with nice. Nnamdi just values a championship for his legacy more than money at this point in his career. Makes perfect sense if you believe the Jets are a better fit for what he wants than say the Ravens.
lol Well when they continue to win the division or take a wild card spot from us again (luck or not), at least you'll still have your faith.
No, just the beginning of mass panic. Its all paper which means nothing when they hit the field. There are so many variables in a season/game that I just watch and hopefully enjoy.
You'd know before I would. If you want to act like it's cool not to acknowledge that their defense would be able to roll our current offense then that's fine.
Our D could roll their offense, but I think that really rides on who we add and how Misi and our secondary develops.
I hope he does go to NY. That means the Jets will have to cut half their roster to be able to afford him. They're going to have Nmamdi/Revis, then a front 7 full of UDFAs. Fine by me.
I'm just saying, those offensive moves are what we should be looking to do anyways. I just think that should force our hand if it happens.
They're going to have to sign Nnamdi if they want to get any pressure at this rate. They already blitz so much more than anyone else to do what they do, now they're seemingly whittling down what little competent pass rushers they had left?
I'm more concerned with what we ADD than what the Jets talk about adding. The Texans are going to drive the price way up.....if the Jets do want him that bad, let them sacrafice fire power on O to get him. We need to add quality PIECES, and Ireland better get aggressive. Our D can get to and own Sanchez, especially loosing Edwards and possibly Holmes. It is totally relavent to keep your eye on the division teams, but right now, Miami needs to focus on Miami. Build you Oline, find competetion for Henne, find a either a complement or a lead back for Thomas, and an impact defender.
I've heard many athletes say many times that they value the championship over the money. That doesn't mean said athlete is going to come in and play for the league minimum. And that's even if they're telling the truth. The majority of the time they end up chasing the money anyway and if it leads them to a contender so be it.
Gates may be our Ginn already on the roster. I'm not sure we need an upgrade. We need a coach to help the QB get them the ball.
That's a lot of opinion minus facts. We'll find out soon, but I tend to give Nnamdi the benefit of the doubt based on his reputation. If that's the case then we're already ****ed lol I like Gates but to think he'll come in and be a big contributor this year seems like a real reach.
And you basing your assessment on his "reputation" is a lot of opinion without fact. If you're going to call me out on something, please don't turn around and do the same thing yourself. It makes you look foolish.
lol Ok, then show me examples of this: I never said that he'd play for peanuts, I said that he said he'd work with a contender on the #s. Given that there are other Jets who've already said they'd work to restructure if Nnamdi came to NY, I'd say that's enough factual evidence to believe it's a good possibility that they would do that. A little different than accusing me of making up facts like the ones you've eluded to but haven't yet posted.
If Nnamdi signs, people will still find ways to pass the ball. It may mean the TE gets more catches or what not. But I am pretty sure Bess beat Nnamdi last year during a couple plays and has a big gain. Wasnt Revis beaten by Ginn two years ago as well? Our receivers will have to step up and QB will have to be accurate but its possible to beat them.
Their defense that would also be losing 9 sacks and 49 QB pressures between Shaun Ellis and Trevor Pryce, as well as a starting safety. They would kill any depth they had. Congrats on putting more Pro Bowlers on the field. But when you're asking an UDFAs and guys that have no business on a field to make plays, good luck with that.
