Unless we go after Orton, Young, or Kolb, we're going with Henne. I don't see us ponying up the picks for Orton or Kolb. I don't see Irish signing a nutjob like Young.

So, put aside your personal feelings on Henne with me for a minute. Let's just assume that Henne plays really well this year. I'm not saying he goes to the Pro Bowl or anything, but let's say he has a 63% completion percentage, 3,500 yards, 25 TDs and only 10 INTs.

If Henne can play like that, how good do you think this team can be? With our defense, I'd say 11-5.

If we traded for Kolb I'd probably cancel my Sunday Ticket for this upcoming season. I could deal with Orton or Young, but trading premium picks for someone worse than Henne would drive me up the ****ing wall.

Also, if Henne starts I'm hoping for like 3,500 yds, 7.0 ypa, and 18 TDs/13 INTs. I'd think that would be good enough for 10 wins assuming now big injuries anywhere.

Good, only problem would be he would be a free agent, which would be a good problem to have.

If he puts up those numbers, he'd get some serious PB consideration. Add that to our defense and an above average running game, 11-5 is more than realistic. 12-4 wouldn't even be out of the question.

To me it is either Ortin or Henne, but I want to see Henne one more year.....I have been very hard on him however it doesnt mean I dont think he can be good, but I want one more chance with him, under a new OC.....

I would love for Henne to put up those numbers or even better, but I doubt it.

I'm really not interested in sliding into the playoffs and an early exit.

I want to WIN in the playoffs and the Super Bowl! I don't see Henne with that ability.

Either win the entire damn thing or blow it up (the position) and try again.

What I want is for the 2011 Dolphins to head into every single game with solid enough qb play to really believe we can win that game no matter who the opponent may be, Chad Henne does not do that for me, I look at that MNF game that will open the season vs the Pats, and think of Chad Henne playing Qb and simply am not feeling it.

It would be amazing and the best thing for this franchise if the Henne supporters are correct. I still HOPE they are. I just dont believe they are...

Yeah, well we all want that, however do you really see Young or Orton as the guy that can do that for us either ?? The only guy who might become available at some point who has those credentials is Palmer. Orton is Mr. Mediocrity and that's what you'll get from him. Young is Mr. Nutcase who might go off at any moment. Henne is Mr. Potential and may or may not produce like we want him to. At this point, we're looking at a 7-9 or 8-8 and a new regime next year...unless Henne comes thru...

Agreed Padre, but as I said above, does Orton or Young really give you that warm, fuzzy feeling either?? Not me...

If Henne put up 3500 yards and 25/10 we'd be 11-5 or 12-4 assuming the OC, run game and defense also do their job. My expectations aren't that high though. I expect more like 20 TDs with 10 or 12 INTs. I think that with same assumptions about the rest of the team that gets us about 10-6 and a playoff birth. And more importantly, it gives us a full complement of picks to move up in next year's draft for a guy that can more reasonably be expected to get 25/10 eventually.

I have about the same level of confidence with Henne as I do with Orton or Young.

Can we just answer his question though......????

If Henne puts up good numbers.....we will be at the least...a WC team. That first game of the season is huge when it comes down to winning the division.

The first game is huge in giving us a glimpse as to what to expect from Henne this year and to whether we have a running game or not. I definitely hope the coaches give Henne a reasonable chance to succeed and not pull out the WC when the offense is moving and in a rhythm like last year. We have to bring in another quarterback to give Henne some serious competition but not by using up valuable draft picks that they may have to use to move up in next years draft to get one of the better QBs coming out.

If we run the ball effectively Henne's #s will take care of themselves.

I'm as close to a Henne "supporter" as there is around here but I don't see why anyone would be banking our season on whether he improves or not. We have a long list of players, Soliai, Langford, Odrick, McDaniel, Wake, Misi, Clemons, Vontae, Sean, Bess, Hartline, Marshall, Fasano, Pouncey, Thomas etc who have the potential to increase their level of play.

The maniacal focus on Henne and the QB position ignores the idea that we're a run the ball/play defense team that looks for steady play and game management, not big numbers, from the QB position. IMO Henne will neither set the league on fire nor go down in flames. He'll give us something close to, perhaps slightly better than, what he gave us last year. If the rest of the team improves around him, I think we'll do just fine.

Orton is a franchise quality QB & Young has the potential to develop into one
Henne is a backup, a journeyman, an almost who will never turn the corner on greatness

My first choice would be to stick with Henne and hope he takes a step forward. If he doesn't, tank the season and start over next year with a new coaching staff. Preferably one that understands that when you need a QB, you draft a QB and not a ****ing guard.
