It would be a coup but how does Ireland fit Bradshaw under the cap and still pull off Orton + fill out the roster?

And D thomas and Pouncey, the offense would be in a much better position then when 2010 ended.

17 million, and some guys are going to be waived, 4 million is rather slim to find the money for.

Michael Lombardi also said he believes Bradshaw will be the next RB to sign and he said the Miami just made him a "huge" offer.

$17 million is our cap space? I heard $11 million after our rookie signings. Or are you talking about Bradshaw's contract? Cause Bradshaw will get more then Williams since he's the younger guy.

I can not figure out why everyone thinks Orton is such an upgrade from Henne?

I've heard 13 to 17 (with the exceptions) cap number?

I'm saying Vern Carey is probably in trouble, people do not want to hear it, but do not be surprised if we see it.

If we do sign Bradshaw, I really hope they don't try to throw in Randy Starks to Denver in the potential Orton trade to free up some cap space. I really don't.

Carey was injured and had a rough year last year. It might not surprise me too much if they parted ways with him.

Well, apparently we made a "huge offer" for Bradshaw, now let us not go full on "Ryan Clark" fellas.

I have a tough time figuring out why people make statements like this one above. I mean, at any level, superficial or deeper, you can look at the two and see clear differences that favor Orton. Clear.

rather see them go after an elite, pro-bowl quality left-guard

    to bolster the running game.

we have talent enough in the running stable

if the offensive line can dominate the line of scrimmage

    the ground game will emerge.

I could live with that. I know Ryan Harris, their RT from last year, is a free agent. I'd rather he go than Starks, if that's what their line of thinking would be.

I just can't not be excited about this!

I wouldn't spend the big buck on RB, but this would be a sexy, sexy pickup, and sex sells.

Plus Orton- and we have reason to believe we can compete for the East!!

I love Ahmad Bradshaw. Honestly, Jeff Ireland making a "huge" offer to Bradshaw is pretty surprising to me already. I didn't know if they had the room under the salary to bring him in along with Kyle Orton.

It makes me believe even more that Miami is offering player compensation to help ease the draft pick compensation and move some money.

I can't figure out why people make statements like this. Orton had an offensive system that favored him in Denver. Henne had a moron calling plays for him the last few years. Yes, Orton to this point has been better, I didn't say he hasn't been because he has. He is not however the big upgrade that everyone thinks he is. I would much rather invest in a young 1st round draft pick qb. For over 10 years now miami has been trying to build at the Qb position by signing 'hopeful' veteran Qbs who are solid, but not enough to make this team a legit playoff team. It has only worked once with pennington, and that was just a quick fix.

Im not saying Orton is not better than Henne, but if you truly have watched him you would know that he is not a big upgrade for us. It is a very tiny step forward.

According to reports up here, the Giants are negotiating with Bradshaw also. Also remember, he gets hurt a lot, but when healthy he is a good player.

Ah, but I never said he wasn't. I said i don't understand why people think he is such an upgrade. He is not enough to make a big difference on this team was my implication, I wasn't clear on that point, but that is the point I'm making

I don't agree with that statement. He's missed two games due to injury in his entire career. He started to develop stress fractures on the same bone in both feet, which doctors suggested could be due to his running style, and they inserted pins in the two bones to stabilize them. He has pain and his practice schedule has to be managed (which should be the case for every starting tailback in the national football league) but he started all 16 games in 2010 and took 20+ touches per game, now that the bones have been stabilized with the pins.

It's all leverage at this point. We want eeeevery RB we talk to to know that they're far from the only option we have.

Can't really believe otherwise til something substantial happens.

Aqua- notice the double negatives. Typed it that way to emphasize my struggle with accepting spending big money on an RB, however, that I do like it. Its like a guilty pleasure feeling. Money is better spent on OL, but I do get excited about watching Bradshaw.

Then I go on to include the possibility of getting Orton, and thats where I start to invision Marshall-Bess-Bradshaw-Orton providing a competitive offense for us. Then I start to invision the trials and tribulations the season brings, and hoping the Jets and Pats suffer bumps in the road. Then I start to believe the possibility of us vying for the East title.

A lot going on upstairs in that short post- ha.

Yep, no reason not to do so, we have all been "Ryan Clark'd" before so I hope folks do not get to excited.

So you think Kyle Orton was an upgrade, but not enough of one to turn this team's fortunes around?

    I agree.
