Aside from Ricky, the fact that he traded high draft picks for highly questionable talent, when his job was clearly on the line, is the proof you need. You might have needs but you don't do crazy things to fill them.

Anyway, back to the discussion...and hoping these guys don't pull another 2004 Wannstedt.

if we throw a 2nd rd and say Starks or Odrick for Orton I will be pissed! rather go after VY for a lot less cost. Henne needs competition but not at that cost

3rd is a high draft pick? An extra third at that?

You sure are giving Orton a lot of credit....if he's so great why are the Broncs trying to deal him?? You really think that they would start Tebow over Orton if he's that good of a QB? Not saying he isn't a good option but I think he has been blown up by media talk. He's had a single good season and a couple alright ones

For Lamar Gordon... And yes 3rd round is a high draft pick since at a lot of positions you have a decent shot to find a starter (just my opinion, yours may vary). 2004 was a bad year for Miami because a desperate coach made desperate decisions for questionable players. I recall rumors of teams being interested in Ogun for 1st round pick compensation. All we got instead was Booker and Gordon to fill team needs.

Back to the topic, I think Orton falls into the Booker type category of players and I hope they don't overbid because they feel desperate to fill a need. That's all I'm saying.

That would depend totally on how much they give for Orton.

Still it is a huge stretch to compare Wanny situation to this current situation.

Wanny would have stuck by Henne.

For the record my opinion is, you drafted Henne, he's shown enough, you sink or swim with him, hoping you fixed the o-line, and running game plus having an in shape Marshall is enough. I'm tired of this team trading for mediocre or worse QB talent.

I do not agree he has shown enough.

I do not agree that he is worse QB than Henne.

It would be refreshing if this team actually traded for a mediocre quarterback. :)
