Greetings everyone....This is my first post. I live in Chicago and have been a loyal Dolphins fan since 1971. To see the demise of this proud franchise makes me sick. Sure, the '70's were great with the 2 Super Bowls....The '80's & '90's were entertaining as well, especially the Marino years I cherish. Then came the Jimmy Johnson era and the downward sprial began....Then, if that wasn't bad enough, we had to stomach that punk Nick Saban....Everytime I see Drew Breeze I want to puke, knowing we should have had him instead of that bum Culpepper....Is he even playing football anymore? Look at what we have now....Crap. No idenity...No plan....A lame existence. It is so lame, for the first time I cancelled my NFL Sunday Ticket subscription. Pay $300 a year to watch this crap? Not doin' it. Living in Chicago, I have not heard much lately on the Dolphins plans....Hopefully they are looking to get a real QB...That Henne has to go. Sparano? He's ok, an overachiever...But he isn't the answer either.... Please...Give me some reason to be optimistic....
No reason to be optimistic, we have crap now, no identity, no plan, a lame existence, a QB who has to go, and a head coach who isn't the answer.
Welcome aboard Cheetah71. Lifelong Dolphin fan myself. Gotta admit things haven't been the best for awhile, but this team has a solid core. If we can get a good Rb and some sort of veteren Qb in FA things should be alot more interesting. Trying to be optimistic!
You don't happen to go to Dolphins games do you? I met a girl on a plane last year in Chicago - she was headed to Miami to meet her boyfriend. They were from Chicago and he had season tix to the Dolphins (actually cheaper to fly down for Dolphins games than to buy Bears tix!!).
Hope you're right, but sometimes one must fail in order to prive a point....Like your photo of the T/A...Had a new blue one back in '79...Almost lost it in the ocean down there on the Daytona Beach strip with the tide comin' in while on Spring Break in '82..
I came down to se a couple over the years....The last one I saw them get their *** kicked in Indianapolis. As far as teh Bears go...You couldn't pay me to see them.
Welcome to Dolfan Therapy session with your host...shoot who is our host again? Where's Sick? Im not as pessimistic as some but yeah we need a few good signings here and better Qb play.
It's too bad their training camp wasn't in session on that island in Norway a couple of days ago...No loss.
'71 was my 5th year of following the Fins so I, like many here, feel your pain. That said, I'm not convinced it's quite as bad as you seem to think... Henne may or may not be the answer but he hasn't exactly had much of a supporting cast around him. Add to not having great talent around him to the joke of a OC that he's had for 3 seasons and you just might come to the conclusion that he may, just may have some untapped potential. It's not a given, but a real possibility. Sparano may or may not be the answer, but his foundation as a coach is good and his mentor has built good teams wherever he's been. You also have to remember that when he did come on board here, we were bereft of talent at just about every position, save for a couple of aging defenders... Last January our owner tried a bone-headed maneuver to replace the guy, so now he's really running scared. All of that can be considered excuses or it can be considered justification for the struggles of this franchise. But here's the bottom line: Right now, Sparano is our HC. Henne is our de facto starting QB. Neither are going anywhere until at least January. We can lament our position in the NFL hierarchy or cheer the team on and hope that the light comes on for Henne, Sparano can improve in his game day management and Daboll can move this offense to somewhere in the middle of the pack versus the #31 and #32 rankings of his offenses the last two years...Choice is each of our own decisions' to make... EDIT: BTW, welcome to the board...
I am a Cubs fan...But not of that frickin' lame group they have had....I root against them in hopes they will lose enough to blow up the whole thing from the GM down. The Dolphins & Cubs are my two teams I have held onto my entire life....That should explain the frustration. But hey, it's still better than frickin' soccer....
Adios, pal! You don't want to follow the Dolphins, start rooting for the Bears. You want a reason to be optimistic? I got nothing for you. I see no reason why our team will be any better than last year. Suck it up or waive goodbye!
It is going to take more than this to blow off a team I have been following for 40 years. I'm just not going to pay much attention to them until they get that organization back in the right direction.....Cowher would be a nice place to start....
No. Why would it? He's been a fan nearly twice as long as you've been alive. He's been through a lot more of these "tired of losing" episodes than most. And what's with the 3rd degree? The guy, like all of us, is frustrated. Let him get it out.
There's already enough ****ty, low content, whining posts here as it is, and there are better places like the Rant forum or like maybe not posting it?
We should have one of the best defenses in the league this year. That is out identity. Mike Nolan's defense.
Dude, that is in poor taste man. 80+ innocent people lost their lives. Grow up. For someone following the phins since '71 you sound pretty childish.
Sitting through 2 weddings, a funeral and watching a giant wall of paint dry is even better than fricking soccer.
