Not sure if anyone has seen the details of his new deal yet, but here they are.

And the compensation details are yet to be confirmed still apparently, but all signs point to a late round pick.

No, they don't watch the college games or study the players. When they say they are out scouting they are really hanging out in titty bars. Before the draft, they just find a copy of Street & Smith's College Football Yearbook, cut out the names of some players, paste them to the wall, and throw darts at the names blindfolded.

But aren't we supposedly going to run a more spread type offense under the new OC with more WR's and less 21 personnel sets? If so wouldn't that put more burden on Henne?

EDIT: I just heard others talk about the new OC running more WR sets than the old OC. I don't know it's going to be a more spread type offense. I am just making an assumption.

Well, Bush is pretty good at finding the endzone, he just dropped his annual income significantly, he is on a short term deal and he has lots to prove. I think this could work out quiet well for us considering the money we are paying him. I just hope he is utilized the right way in our offense to maximize his ability in space.

A troll far from it. I was a long time member of Fin Heaven, but that site sucks now. It is very difficult to use. I have been a Dolphins fan way before Marino, and have stuck with them even in the down times. I am just very upset with the way this organization is being run today. The team was 7-9 and full of holes, yet took a center in the first round, not only that but a center that can't snap the ball. Just go back and watch the Gators games last year and you will see what I am talking about. Just because I am Dolphin's fan doesn't mean I have to support bad decisions this front office is making.
Also I find it absurd that this front office has not drafted a QB in the first round in over 30 years. This is just plain stupid. It is really not that hard to find a great QB, its simple just draft the best one available with your 1st round pick, until you find one. I will not even list the QBs the Dolphins have past up in the last 10 years. Instead the Dolphins keep drafting lineman in the first round and keep depending on other teams castoffs.. Until this organization has some guts and is willing to spend a high pick on a QB, they will be an average team at best.
I am realist , and this team has no chance of making the playoffs this year, that is just the way it is. You guys gotta remember that Ortan's record last year was 3-10 as a starter.

This FO hasn't been in place for 30 years, and we have drafted a QB in rd 1 in the past 30 years.

And since we have no chance of making the playoffs, care to give me the mega-millions jackpot numbers? I'm sure you have them. Otherwise, I'm pretty sure we have a chance at the playoffs until we're mathematically eliminated.

LOL. Ok, please tell me what you would have done with our 1st round pick then. What would have been the better move?

4 QBs were drafted ahead of us... including a couple serious reaches. The best solution at that point would have been to reach even harder and take some 3rd round QB at #15 overall? What else would you have done?

Not necessarily. An improved ground game is an improved ground game.

Being balanced in a spread formation (the ability to run while forcing a defense to cover every blade of grass) will do nothing but allow Henne (or Orton) to thrive; this is where Henne's at his best.

If we can keep a defense honest, there's no burden for Henne when more space is created for our playmakers (Marshall, Bush, Gates, and Clay) to make big plays. Chad can play pitch and catch all game long if a defense is off balance, and then he has Bess for easy 3rd down conversions when a running game is now picking up 3-5 yards on first down instead of the previous 0-2.

Plus, Thomas & Lex can both run well from spread formations b/c they're 1 cut backs, have the hands for the passing game, and the size to take a pounding or dish one out without the use of a lead blocker or 2nd TE.

A poor ground game that made playcalling predictable hurt us (and Henne) in a bad way in 2010.

Blesto, who the Dolphins affiliated with at the time, ranked Kumerow as the #2 DE in that draft, after Neil Smith.

Buzzkill is dead on. The key to all this is Orton, imo. It's not that Orton is a top tier QB. But, Henne is a mess. Orton can effectively get the ball in the hands of playmakers.

Blesto is not a person, it's a scouting conglomerate along with National. Something like 1/3 of NFL teams affiliate with Blesto for info, along with having their own scouts, half or so affiliate with National, and the rest remain independent of either. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_Scouting_Combine

I am sorry let me be a little more specific, we have not drafted a QB in 28 years since 1983 , when the Dolphins took Marino. It is insane that the Dolphins don't find it necessary to take the best QB available with there first pick. Oh and this front office has made a lot of great moves haven't they? That is why we continue to take other teams leftover QB's. In order to win big in this league for a long time, you need an All Pro QB. And this is something that we don't have.
As far as the lottery numbers go, I cant predict the future. However I have been a football fan for over 30 years and I can tell you this we are a long way from being a Super Bowl team.

Any idea what the contract would be, Alen? It's not just the pick that concerns me. It's over-paying him and then not being able to go after other, better free agents.

FinNasty, what he's saying is that over the past 30 years, look at what QB's have come into the league and we never took a chance nor made an effort to try and get. Working from some of the more recents and working back...

    Tim Tebow
    Matt Ryan
    Aaron Rodgers
    Phillip Rivers
    Eli Manning
    Ben Roethlisburger
    Michael Vick
    Peyton Manning
Tom Brady (ok, a long shot seeing he was a 7th round pick)

The point being is that this organization has had plenty of opportunity to secure its franchise quarterback and we've not even made an effort to do so. Hell, at least I give Mike Ditka credit for trading away his entire draft to get Ricky Williams. He saw a player he KNEW would make a difference on the team and went after him.

What draft picks did we trade away to try and get any of those aforementioned, or any other QBs? The answer is...NUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

C-Hucks is like me. We've both been Dolphins fans long before Dan Marino and remember the greatness our team ALWAYS had.
