I can see it now: "No no no Vince, don't throw the ball, run the thing....we want you to run more often..."
Bill Cowher. That is all. I just hope Ross doesn't let Ireland raid the fridge of draft choices before he's run out of town.
Having Young and Bush in the same backfield...why not? Should have also gone after Leinhart to battle it out with VY. Could see if LenDale White is getting out of rehab any time soon and in football shape. Trade with Oakland for Huff. Give Rodrique Wright another shot. The Dolphins could replay one of the greatest college football games ever played every single practice.
I've been undecided about the qb situation all offseason. Maybe its the excitement of the lockout being over or maybe its the 4 beers I've drank, but I'm all in on the Vince Young acquisition. He might be a completely unpredictable nutjob, but he probably has the highest ceiling of any available option. And if it all goes horribly wrong, at least it should be entertaining. I think that I'd rather we just roll the dice for once rather than playing it safe
That would be about two hundred percent above what we did last year so I'll take it! Seriously, it's about the OC. Don't bring in guys like Young and Bush unless you are going to work within their strengths. Both can break a game open for their offense, but if you want to run a vanilla plan with a small package bringing in either of them is senseless. Young has to mature as a person, and grow as a pocket passer. I think everyone recognizes both of those failings. However he has done some good things and his feet and athletic ability could dominate a game. Especially from the spread if that is what we are going to, which I suspect is the case. I love the fact though that Young forces a defense to play less aggressive on the backside because of his ability to run the football at any given time. I like Orton better as a person, reminds me of Penny and Ferrotte and would be great for Marshall. I think Orton gets us to 11 wins. Young could be the key to being an elite team though. It could also end poorly if he fails to grow as a person and player. PS - The spread is not complicated. That's one of the strengths of that scheme. Young would be ready by Week 1
Please don't get this guy I would rather us not get any new qb if this is the only opion we have. We need to start making good moves and this is a waste of money if we sign him
Having a QB that can run and hurt a defense changes the entire way your opponents can defend you. It changes what teams will do on the backside, and it changes the coverages that we will see. It's a real game changer. Add Bush out of the backfield and in the slot and we have big play potential that we need in Miami after finishing 3rd to last in scoring.
It sticks with me that Daboll had his greatest success in 2010 with McCoy on the move, and I look at Young and think he could do even more with him.
You're mixing up your racist stereotypes, I don't think black people typically miss their "to be" verbs. You've somehow mixed an Asian stereotype in there. You did beat out KB21 though.
Philly would be great for VY. If he thought Tennessee fans were on his *** wait til Vick, who can't play a full season, gets hurt and he's thrown in. That mental breakdown and tantrum would be epic!!!!!!!!!!
Ever get the feeling, VY will sign soon, and KO and Miami will stare at each other for another few days, until some mystery team pops up and gets him, leaving Miami with another Harbaugh situation....?
Heck, if I get the chance to attend another Dolphins game in person, I'm still a gonna wear my Aqua Bowens #95. Loved my Timbo. Best DT in Phins history.
Bowens......that guy is a man child he was a beast. I have a nice orange 40th anniversary dolphins Chris Chambers jersey..I also have a aulthentic Ronnie Brown jersey aqua to things of bueaty right there. Never have thrown away any of my dolphins jerseys......just doesn't feel right.
I think I got to wait for Ronnie to retire before I wear his jersey again unless he comes back. I got a Zach Thomas, 2 Jason Taylor, Joey porter, junior seau, Dan Marino, Randy mcmicheal, and Chris chambers never throwing any of them away.
Thanks to my buddy FreeStyle i have a #84 Chris Chambers jersey! He got it for me as a x-mas gift just when we traded him to San Diego, but i always wanted to have a Chambers Miami jersey since it's not easy to get one here in Germany i got one from my buddy in the USA!
Now who did not see this one coming? Beginning to resign myself to another yr for Chad Henne, admire Sparano's guts for sticking with #7, probably get him fired though.
Is this FO really about to botch this entire offseason? We missed our big RB targets, and now it's looking like we will be the team to strike out the huge crop of QBs Hopefully these Philly rumors will scare Ireland into bringing in VY
Proven winner. Better passer. More versatile. Makes plays with his feet. More potential. Cheaper. Won't require a long-term contract to sign. Won't cost Miami a draft pick. Besides all that I am all for Orton over VY.
Orton has a winning record, Vince young is not a better passer then Kyle Orton, don't need to be versatile to be a good qb, so what if everybody wants a qb that can run let's get pat white back in here, he is cheap a proven winner in college and will come cheap. Who cares if it cost us a draft pick we wate them anyway one players like Chad henne. Vince young will throw us out of games and lose games for us. Kyle Orton will keep us in games and will be smart with the ball, unlike Vince young
The Dolphins played "chicken" with the Broncos and Orton was so much better than Tebow that it's likely the price will go up on him. In fact, the Broncos will likely just keep Orton by trimming their salary numbers. I would still rather have Young than no one. At least he would be competitive. If we go in with just Henne, I don't have much confidence.
VY 30-17 as a starter (doesn't sound like he threw his team out of too many games)...KO 32-29 as starter...so VY only needs to go 2-12 to match KO's winning record. QB may not need to be versatile, but it sure as hell can help! Take a look at Rogers. Your point is because Pat White sucked as an NFL QB that QBs don't need to be versatile? Huh... You do have a point thought...KO kept Denver in all 10 losses of the 13 games he started last year...well except for the 7 games they lost by 7 or more points including a 45 point loss, a 30 point loss, a 21 point loss, a couple of 14 point losses... But the what do we need draft picks for is where you really sold me.
Okay so with 1/2 of the above stated scenario done......this is about the time where Ireland is composing his "Chad has and is always been our guy all along...." My question is, will the raise be coming as well....?
