KOA tends to have non-sports talk shows at night. For a true sports station which is still chattering about the QB situation, go here http://www.1043thefan.com/listenOnline.aspx
This is a rebuilding year and it doesn't matter to develop Tim. Tebow is NOT a finished product and everyone knows it. There's a rumor that Delhomme may be signed to mentor him. We're developing a number of guys. We drafted a TE who only played one year in college, and the FO made it known they're going to teach him how to block. Why do all of this just to draft a potential franchise QB and be too afraid to give him what he needs to blossom? Why put so much into drafting a QB (several picks to move up to snag Tebow) just to let him rot on the sidelines without reps (which is what McDaniels did)? I do want to ship Orton out, and this is why. We've invested in Tebow, he has tremendous potential, and we need to see what we have. I think Tebow is the real deal and he's our guy. Yes, we all recognize it's a gamble, but fans here are excited about him and want to see him play. Part of this is simply a PR issue with the fans as the team has been so horribly managed the past couple of years that the natives are very restless. It got so bad the team owner personally asked Elway to step in and help out, and Elway responded (he's our BOI). It comes down to a number of things. Tebow is already a fan favorite and due to a horrific previous coaching staff, the fans have been on the verge of group mutiny. Late last season, even at away games, Denver fans were chanting for Tebow to be on the field. Had Tebow not been drafted, Orton wouldn't be going anywhere and he'd be getting a contract extension. When Cutler was sent to Chicago and Orton came here, I was horrified but then changed my mind as Orton has outperformed Cutler for both years the two have switched teams. Orton is a much more intelligent passer than Cutler and has many fewer picks to prove it. Cutler, however, is more mobile than Orton. Orton is a very good pocket passer, if you ask me.
Orton looked great today. He looked way better than Tebow. Tebow being drafted may bite them in the but due to the entire circumstances...giving up 3 draft picks etc etc
They said that even though Orton looked better...they could be just comparing who's the tallest midget. lol So, they think all 3 of their QB's have big question marks.
Tebow had a bad day today by what I heard. It happens to everyone, and I don't think it was reflective of him as an NFL QB. Poor Quinn was apparently clueless again. Orton was very polished by what I heard. He was last year when I went to scrimmage. As I said, he's a very good pocket QB.
One of the things they just said on the Denver sports show was that there may not have been movement on the Orton front today because Miami was finishing up the Bush acquisition. Good point, really.
Kyle Orton is better now, but a fan revolt would occur if they choose him over Tim Tebow. Tim Tebow is a big boom or bust quarterback who the fanbase has really began to buy as the future. Brady Quinn is a question mark to make the team? I don't know...
Actually, on the Denver Broncos Forums for these past months during the lockout, there has been plenty of fan bickering and revolt over the QB issue. So much so that I ended up getting suspended for pissing off the moderating staff. Now I'm allowed to post and just "on probation." I'd estimate at least 95% of fans are behind Tebow. The last 3 games of the season really turned heads in his direction, and I'm sure fan dissatisfaction plays a part of Orton being shopped. It's not as simple as that of course, there is also the issue of the investment in Tim, his potential in being a franchise QB and so forth. If it wasn't for Tim being here, we'd keep Kyle and extend his contract. I don't doubt that at all. He has his drawbacks, which I think are correctable, and he is a very good pocket QB and intelligent passer. Poor Brady, who knows. The guy is playing like he has no confidence and like he's on the bubble. If Denver signs an older veteran (like Delhomme) to mentor Tebow, it's entirely possible Quinn is gone.
Jamie Dukes mentioned the other night that of all the other teams, the Broncos have no pressure to win at all this season. He goes on and says that why not give Tebow the ropes this year, if it doesn't work, then they can draft someone. I kind of agree with this, but on the other hand, how do you look Brian Dawkins in the eye. BTW, John Elway sells cars, so don't trust that SOB....lol
Didn't Elway marry a ex-Raiders cheerleader? All in all, Elways okay. IMO, he's one of the best to ever play. The current scheduling format is based off of Elway and Marino. Those two only played against each other a handful of times and the NFL thought it needed to change it's scheduling. The current format is because of these two.
He did. We had to forgive him for that. I wouldn't know about the current scheduling format, although when we play Miami, it's usually in Miami, which is weird.
Good read this morning. http://www.denverpost.com/krieger/ci_18572814 I like the part at the end that says only 8% of the fanbase want Orton to stay.
Who could blame him? Raiderettes were, maybe still are, like the hottest cheerleaders in the league back in the 80s, especially when the team was in LA. Lots of aspiring actress and model types. Maybe even a porn star or two sneaked in over the years.
And now they revert to grandmothers. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/sh...t-cheerleader-is-a-grandmother?urn=nfl-wp4074
Well sir, that is not your typical grandmother. Maybe in the running for top GILF in the country. It was bad enough when the best MILFs were a lot younger than me, like my favorite MILF, Sandra Bullock, but now we have GILFs young enough to be my kid. Oh, the ravages of old age.
Tee hee... Go to any Broncos game and you'd be lucky to see 20 people with Orton jerseys. You'll see about 5,000 with Tebow on, including myself. Tebow's starts in the last 3 games really won a lot of people over, and people want more of him. In day one in camp, it was said that Orton got some scattered applause whereas Tebow got roars. I'm sure the crowd was stacked with Tebow groupies, though.
