Could be worse. We can def still go after and sign Orton or whoever anyways.

    Well away from here
And in fact Moore looked a bit better in Carolina before getting the hook for uber productive Jimmy Clausen IIRC - or am I wrong there?

IMO, that's not a bad move. I think he could push Henne, not sure who would win. Another QB that acts like a pro, I like it.

Excuse the FO for not waving their magic wand and making an ideal QB option available in a terrible market lol

BC is just adverse to making plays when they count, no other words to describe it.

For a backup or camp arm, what's wrong with that? A while back, Buffalo signed a guy to be a camp arm and he turned out to be a starter.....Doug Flutie.

Which locks us into Henne, he of the negative Td to Int ratio, he of the epic collapses in close games, he of the int machine on our side of the 50, if you think that is a good idea IDK what to tell you.

I like Matt Moore. Wouldn't mind bringing him in to back up Henne. It'll be a lot cheaper than Orton, although I like Orton as well.

I say bring in Moore to backup Henne this season. If Henne can't get it together with all the weapons around him now, then it'll be time to move on. Orton will be available as a FA next year right? Plus the draft.

I know according to some it's everyone's fault but the Quarterback, and to be fair Carolina had its issues, but from what I saw (particularly preseason where I think they failed to score an offensive touchdown, or at least very few of them) he was abysmal. As a third string sure, but as legit competition for Henne and the guy to come in if Henne gets hurt? No thanks.

So the Dolphins answer to 7-9 with a putrid offense is:

    1. Brian Daboll
    2. Rookie Center
    3. Rookie 2nd/3rd Round Tailback
    4. Reggie Bush
    5. Matt Moore

    Huzzah!

    You sure?

I mean I don't see how Devlin and Brandstater are locked into the roster.

Why would signing Moore make him the only FA QB we bring in?

Listen, I know nobody thinks I'm impartial. Whatever. But the fact of the matter is, WAY before this free agency/trade period began, I looked at the available QBs. I studied them, I watched all their plays, I dissected those plays, even clipped them so that I could re-watch them.

Matt Moore was well down the list. WELL down the list.

Well, Garner will be back and healthy, but more or less, those Rook's have to perform at a high level or this will be a very long season and you will get your wish for a high pick Qb and a new HC.

Orton can tilt the field a bit at least.

    Yes. Very much so.

But you're making an ignorant mistake of assuming that I would be all cakes and candy canes if the Dolphins had drafted a QB in the Draft. Not so. Mistakes are mistakes. Drafting a QB would have only rectified one mistake. Would have only been one check mark in the plus column.

haha you're right about one of those things, that's for sure.

Look, just because there's a report out that they're talking to Moore (along with constant other ones w diff QBs), doesn't mean we should break out the waterworks just yet.

Because this is something I've looked at Slick, Moore has less starts then Henne, and when last playing, was worse then Henne, and Qb musical chairs has a hand on the "off" button.

The Tier 3 guys, Gradkowski, and Thigpen and Jackson have all signed, as has Hasselback, there literally is longshots like Hanie, and never was like Volek to pick through, what Moore amounts to is an endorsement of Henne being the #1 Qb via not bringing anyone in who can seriously threaten his job.

Our last real hope is Kyle Orton.

    That we know of.

Raise your hand if you saw us trading for Tyler Thigpen when that happened.

I'm not saying there's a viable starting option that we can trade for besides Orton though. But, I could see us getting another guy for depth that's a reasonable backup.

Utterly disagree, we are far better off with Henne at Qb over a rook as he still MAY develop, a Rook is an utter unknown and if he flammed out..back to Henne.

On the upside at least it is not Jake Delhomme...I hesitate to write that...

I've gotta think that unless Gates is already amazing (right), that we add at least one other receiving threat at WR or TE.

Edit : Or try to lol And then wind up with a lesser one.

Nah, DT has more wiggle in him then Dwyer had, he is a 230 pd slashing rb, his problem is fumbles.
